Either it goes back to ABC in a traditional slot with 250 episodes or it goes to streaming ala Days of our Lives on Peacock. Anything else and it won't be worth it.

Everything is so muddled now between broadcast, cable, daytime/primetime, and streaming. I don't think the platform really matters.

Several shows have jumped around between all. Yellowstone, Only Murders in the Building, Star Trek .. etc.

If it creates buzz and is well done, it will be successful.

It's more than who'd they bring in to write and produce the show, though.  It's also about the vision for the new show and its' tone.  From everything that I have read about it, it sounds like "Pine Valley," or whatever it would be called, would be dark, and not at all like the AMC I remember watching.  In fact, it's as if Megan McTavish is back and ready for prime time!

Gotcha, hopefully he will pull anyone back that strays from the original concept.

SL does that a lot. On the Hallmark reunion show, she said that Agnes Nixon created Ryan's Hope.

AMC was on point with their background music in this era. IMO JDB was a pretty good EP. The sets were really good during her time too.

Why does Blair even need Tracy if she developed the Deceptor? Couldn't she file a suit on her own? Tracy really has nothing to do with it.

If anything, Susan would turn it down because even when AMC was at its darkest, it was still her show, her people, and her home. Acting out trash storylines on a show she has no personal connection to just wouldn't hit the same. Plus, she's probably found closure for Erica and doesn't want to ruin that by bringing her back for something unsubstantial.

You're right that they never competed head-to-head. But, the shows did compete for the number 1 spot in the ratings for many years. There was also kind of an unwritten rivalry as to which was the "crown jewel" of ABC.

Yep! GH was pretty much a rival soap to AMC for decades, even though they shared a network. (Emmys, ratings - etc.)

Susan Lucci still sees it that way IMO.

She is super loyal to AMC. It would almost be like sacrilege to cross over...

I think GH is being carried by HULU financially. That's where I watch. They don't seem to have any budget issues with the cast, and bring on fresh sets almost every week..

I think they had Susan Lucci in mind and she turned them down.. So KDP was the next choice. They'll have to somehow explain how Jackson/Pine Valley comes into play.

The Pine Valley connection doesn't make sense if Blair is the 3rd ex-wife. 

I watched the days that the Pine Valley and Jack stuff were on, but fast forwarded through everything else. Nothing held my interest. I have checked back in a few times and it seems like they have dropped the storyline with Micheal E Knight's character Martin Grey. He has a mystery ex-wife living in Pine Valley.

Whatever happened to Teresa Blake who played Gloria Marsh on AMC? She disappeared.

I wonder why she won't just say 'the project didn't pan out'. It's almost like they never got word from ABC that it is dead. Or they are being told it is in the queue somewhere.

With the disclaimer of 'not solid' - What have you seen? I noticed Liza said she has been estranged from her 'parents', so that would include Helmut.

Susan Lucci is amazing, an icon, and loved. I personally love her. I'm very sorry that she lost Helmut. I know it has to be devastating. I followed her IG posts with him included, and watched live with him standing by her side in 1999 when she finally won.

I ALSO find it incredibly intriguing to know about her relationship with Liza. What happened?? They were on talk shows together as recent as 2015 speaking about Liza's son and his medical condition. 

Susan is a loved public figure, and Liza made this recent public post on Instagram. 

It's not private at this point... like it or not.

It's not a dig at anyone.. no one is perfect. I'm just very curious as to what happened to cause the rift. 

It's like if two of my family members had a falling out. I would want to know why.
