  1. No Jason Kincaid was not a Temp, he was a recast that tanked.

Help me out, but I remember Kelli Maroney of Ryans Hope and Marsha Clark of Guiding Light temping for AE or KW as Tina on OLTL

And didnt Chris Beetem just Temp for Tyler Christopher last year?

OLTL brought Tina back in August,1984 with Kelli Maroney in the role(Andrea Evans was either still on Y&R at the time or not interested in returning). After about 4 months,Kelli left and rumor has it that she asked to be let out of her contract due to problems with Paul Rauch. Marsha Clark was brought in sometime around November/December 1984 as a temporary replacement until they found a permanent new Tina. She filled in until Jan/Feb 1985,when Andrea Evans reclaimed the role.

  2. Her RH episodes from 9/81 might be on Soapnet before too long, I guess we can check.

Thanks, both of you. I could not make out her name, well, aside from Betty. I thought it was Betty Powell or Betty Lowell or Betty Rowell, I don't know. It's just so strange seeing this random woman as Nancy. I kept remembering something about this to put in this thread but couldn't remember who the character was and then suddenly I did.

For a while I thought she was one of the Clara Hudsons but obviously not.

So did she only take over for Helen Wagner for a few days?

I think might have been for a few weeks,as her name showed up in the credits at one point.

  3. Betty Runnel. I could make out Betty, then I cross referenced. I couldn't find anything else about her online, not even an IMDb/IBDB/ITDB entry, maybe she worked under another name, was solidly off-off-Broadway, or even some crew member's aunt.

I believe the actress who filled in for Helen Wagner in 1988 was credited then as Betty Low.

  4. I didn't know she was married to Geoffrey Pierson. No wonder I thought they had a little too much chemistry when I saw some of the episodes where Frank and Maggie were attracted to each other.

Maggie even had a fantasy of marrying Frank too,LOL! I remember reading in Soap Opera Weekly years ago, that they reconnected in LA about a decade after they worked together on RH(he left in 1985),starting dating and they've been married since 1997 and have one daughter together.

  5. That sounds like how I felt in summer 92/early 93 with GL, Beverlee McKinsey, Sherry Stringfield, and then Ellen Parker all gone. The show was never the same to me.

I haven't seen a lot of Judi as the earlier Paulina, I've just seen her as the later, crying version who had weight issues, but I really liked Cali as Paulina, I thought she got the little girl lost quality which made up so much of Paulina. I'm sorry she didn't get more soap work after that.

I didn't know she had so many fans either. I don't feel too alone now.

I was a fan of Cali too, going back to when she was Maggie on Ryan's Hope. I was even in her fan club that she had back then(which I think went away after she left RH). Too bad she hasn't shown up on another soap. Found a recent pic of her with her husband and former RH co-star Geoffrey Pierson from 2008.

  6. Ooh, I LOVED Elizabeth Savage as Gwyn. While that role will always belong to Christine Tudor Newman, I remember really liking Savage's take on the part.

And I never knew that Roya Megnot returned to Loving to pinch hit for Lisa Peluso. Somehow, I don't think that would have worked, considering how much the character changed when Peluso began playing her.

I remember when Roya filled in for Lisa. It was about 3 months,March-May 1990(Lisa replaced Roya in October,1988). Never heard the reason why she left for 3 months. Roya came in and seemed to pick up right where she left off and played Ava like she did before,IMO. Randy Mantooth had already left by this point and Robert Dubac had taken over as Alex. One day it was Roya and I remember the next day(around late May)Lisa was back as Ava.

  7. Very random request here but would anyone happen to have the full mp3 of the final version of AW's closing theme tune? It was on WOST but I couldn't join because they didn't accept PayPal and now it's too late. I'd hate for this to be gone forever, it was a lovely piece of music.

Are you talking about the 1996-99 version? Here you are:
