Nick finds himself having a heart-to-heart with Sharon

Det. Maggie Sullivan steps into Crimson Lights, scanning the room for the person she contacted to meet. When her eyes lock on them, she makes her way to the counter to order a cup of coffee. Coffee in hand, she proceeds to the outside patio area and takes a seat. Putting his newspaper down, Paul smiles, asking what Maggie's sudden need to see him. Sipping her coffee, she teases him by letting him know how much she wants him with her. He's about to say something when she raises a hand and informs him that she is talking business. Paul becomes curious and asks her what is up. She informs Paul that William Bardwell is re-opening the Jabot skin cream case; and she's the head detective on the investigation. He wants to know what it is that she needs from him and is more than interested when she tells him that she wants him to work with her on the case.

Nicholas, coat in hand, waits for the elevator to head to the parking structure. After a trying day at work, all he wanted to do was go home and unwind. Looking at his watch, he was glad to know that Phyllis was still in her meeting and wouldn't be coming home right away. Distance was what he needed for the moment and he was going to take it. Stepping on to the opening elevator, he proceeds to push the garage button when he hears a familiar voice calling out to him. In an instant, Sharon is slipping inside the elevator and thanks him for holding it for her. Nodding his head, Nick tells Sharon that he's looking forward to picking up Noah for 'guy' time. She tells him that it's all that Noah has been talking about this week. Nick is about to say something when a sudden jerk happens on the elevator. Each look at each other and in unison say that the elevator is stuck.

Lauren knew that when she walked into Fenmore's it was going to be a day she wish to forget. Heading to the back room, she immediately becomes upset by the fact that Amber once again let a shipment sit around. Grabbing the phone she contacts Federal Express to come pick up the packages. Heading out to the front of the store, she immediately sensed the tension between Amber and Lily. Not wanting to put Amber on the spot, she approaches the young lady and tells her that she wants to talk to her before she heads home. Making her way towards a customer, she hoped that both Lily and Amber would put aside their dislike for one another on the backburner. As Lauren leads the customer to one of the fitting rooms, she hears the snipes and snarks of both women. Turning back, she hurriedly makes her way towards Lily and Amber, telling them to go to the back room: they need to have serious discussion about their attitudes towards one another.

At the Chancellor mansion, Cane and Katherine are conversating with one another. Katherine immediately tells Cane that it was not her intent on trying to hurt him; but that she wanted him and everyone else aware of how devious Amber was. Cane points out that although he knows that she would never purposely hurt him, she could have done it in a more private setting. She again apologizes to him and changes subjects. She asks him if he has ever thought about getting his feet wet in the family company. Cane doesn't feel he would fit in at Chancellor Industries and says no to the offer. Katherine, however, tells Cane that he is family and that she would love for him to learn what he can about the family business. After much thought, Cane agrees to her offer.

In the hallway of Jabot, William Bardwell meets up with Ji Min Kim. William informs Ji Min that since he's the owner of Jabot, he wants him to be aware that they are going to be re-opening the case against Jabot's skin cream. Ji Min questions why the sudden decision to re-open. William is vague at first, but lets him know that the recent death of Tim Gibson among other events have gave him just cause in returning to investigating the crime. Ji Min questions if Jack will be brought back into the investigation, considering he was the one being blamed for the Emma's death. Bardwell tells Ji Min that everyone that was involved in the last case will definitely be brought back when they begin their second investigation and if anyone from that case has cause in hiding the truth, it will be revealed. Ji Min and William are both unaware that Kevin has listened to the whole conversation.

In the elevator at Newman, Sharon and Nick are awaiting for the maitanance workers to get the elevator started. As they wait, Nick asks if Sharon is sure she wants to have a life with Jack Abbott. Sharon is at first hesitant to share her feelings but with Nick's persistence, she tells him that Jack truly cares about her. Nick points out that it doesn't answer the question on if she wants to be with him as his wife. Turning the tables, she asks him if he ever thought he would be married to Phyllis. Nick admits that it was the furthest from his mind. Sharon doesn't mince words when she tells him that Phyllis will always be a troublemaker in her eyes. When Nick grows quiet, Sharon realizes that for the first time, he doesn't have any words to defend his wife. Before they can continue their discussion, the elevator kicks back on and both arriving to the parking garage go their seperate ways.

At the Baldwin home, Kevin arrives to fill Michael in on what he's overheard beteween Ji Min and William. Michael, not liking at all that the case is being re-opened, tells Kevin that they better pray hard for nothing to come back to bite them in the butt this time around. When Kevin informs his brother about the fact that everyone involved in the past case would be also involved in the new investation, Michael realizes that at some point Gloria will be questioned. He tells Kevin that they will have to do whatever they can to keep one step ahead of Bardwell to keep all of them from exposure. When Michael makes a snide comment of the fact that Gibson's daughter prompted the investigation, Kevin fills him in that he's already met her. Michael suddenly wonders if Kevin would be able to use his meeting her to their advantage.

Next on Genoa City

Jill: How dare you go behind my back and offer my son a job.

Katherine: Jill, for heaven's sake, it's not a crime to offer the boy a way to get to know the family

Jill: He would have already known the family if YOU hadn't have done what you did.

Ji Min (on the phone): We need to talk right away, Jack.

Jack: If this is about Gloria, I'm not interested...

Ji Min: It's much worse than Gloria Fisher.

Dru: I don't understand how you of all people can sit there and defend Daniel Romalotti.

Neil: It's not a question about defending Daniel, Dru. It's about letting them work things out themselves.

Dru: If you think I'm going to let that troublemaker continue to hurt my baby, you're sadly mistaken.
