Dan Gauthier is set to take over the role of Melissa's husband but a new name is needed for his character. "We goofed," Boobsie McGee says with a laugh. "We named Dan's character Shane and then realized there is another Shane out there - Kimberly's ex-husband! There is always a possibility that Mr. Donovan may return one day and we don't want to confuse the audience (or ourselves!) by having two Shanes. So we are asking the audience to submit possible names for Dan's character."

Side note: I REALLY NEED A NEW NAME FOR DAN'S CHARACTER! If you can suggest a name or two please post it here. Thanks!

Well, you can always have two Shanes, but with Kim coming back, I can see where it would get confusing. I like these names

Scott

Trevor

Keith

Jonathan

and if I remember correctly the last name is Moore. So for all the Democrats....Michael :)

Those are just a few.

Hapy that Kim is coming back, not happy that she has ALS. Reminds me of Michael Zaslow

Michael Zaslow was the best! In my opinion he was the best villian in the history of soaps. He was probably the best actor too. I really miss him.

I am going to take Tishy's suggestion and name him Trevor. That fits the character.
