S&L: Episode 124
- Noah didn't really know where to begin once Carly and Luke arrived at the Metro Court. He knew that he would be crossing the line by talking to each of them about Bobbie; however, something had to be done, before Bobbie hurt herself, or someone else. He knew one thing was for sure; he couldn't watch the woman he loved crumble and succumb to alcohol again.
Carly was the first one to arrive, and immediately made her way towards Noah. "Hey, what's up? From the tone of your voice, you sounded really serious." The last thing she needed was added drama. She had that the previous day when A.J.decided to waltz over to her home demanding to spend time with Michael. "Please tell me this isn't something I have to worry about."
Extending his hand, Noah led Carly to a corner to the far right where privacy was permitted. "Let's wait till Luke gets here, I don't want to say anything more until he's sitting with us," he said, keeping his voice calm. He didn't want to say anything at all until Luke was present; God knows, he would have his hands full if informing Carly ahead of time; but dealing with both of them was going to be a struggle.
As if on cue, Luke barked, "This better be good, Drake. You're cutting into my much needed beauty sleep," Tossing his coat on the empty chair, he plopped down next to them. "What's your reason for being here?" he asked, glancing in Carly's direction. "Did he summon you too?"
Sighing heavily, she checked her watch. "Look, Noah, you have us here, do you mind telling us what this is all about? What is going on?"
Folding his hands together, Noah leaned over to each of them, making sure that the conversation they had was strictly between them. "It's about Bobbie. I think both of you should know that she has been having a very rough time,.." he began, but was immediately cut short by Luke's brigade of questions?
"Slow the bus, bud. What do you mean by saying Barbara Jean is having a very rough time? Did something happen to her at the hospital?"
"Yeah, what's going on," Carly started in, but soon caught herself. She suddenly realized that the only reason why Noah would have both of them together was because something seriously was wrong. "Noah, tell me this, and tell me right now. Is Bobbie..." she tried to muster up the words to come out, praying with all her heart that it would not be true. "Is Bobbie drinking again?"
Closing his eyes, Noah had to tell them of what he believed was very true. "I believe that Bobbie is drinking again, yes."
"What do you mean, you believe she is drinking!" Luke bellowed, not realizing that he was drawing attention to them. "You either know, or you don't. Don't go making assumptions you can't back up," he challenged. scowl deeply planted in his already agitated face. "You tell me this, Drake, what makes you think that my sister is drinking again. What could possibly turn her back to alcohol?"
"Lucas," Carly's quiet voice answered back. Running her fingers through her hair, she quickly folded her hands together, continuing to speak. "Earlier this week, I stopped by the penthouse to see how he was doing. When I was there, I noticed a whole lot of boxes there."
"Come on Caroline, spit it out. Why do you say it's Lucas?" When neither Noah nor Carly would say anything, Luke's temper spiked. "Will somebody please tell me what the hell is going on!"
Glaring at him, and in a low voice, Noah snapped, "Keep your mouth shut and your ears open," Looking around, Noah shared what set Bobbie off on the collision course that she was on. "Bobbie is having a hard time coming to terms with Lucas being gay; she is also having a hard time with the fact that she walked in on him and Brandon having sex. Ever since then, she's been a wreck, both physically and emotionally."
"Oh my God, what are we going to do?" Carly questioned, worry etched in her face. "We need to be doing something. We need to confront her."
Nodding, Noah agreed with her. "We, however, have to get Lucas involved. It's going to be hard, however, right now, the first step is doing an intervention with Bobbie. We need to let her know that her drinking again can cause more problems than she realizes."
For the first time, in a long time, Luke sat in stunned silence.
- Alexis Davis sat at her desk, going over some critical evidence for her upcoming case when her telephone rang. Absently picking it up, she answered her receptionist on the other end. "Whatever it is or whoever it is can wait. I am in the middle of something at the moment."
"Commissioner Devane insists on seeing you. She says it is rather important," Alexis' receptionist answered back.
Groaning a little, she checked her watch. "Fine, send her in, but I want you to call me in twenty minutes with 'something' for me to do." The last person she wanted to see was the newly appointed Commissioner Anna Devane; just the thought of her paying her a visit only meant she wanted something and she wanted it immediately.
A few seconds later, Anna made her way into the office, not waiting at all to be offered a seat. "Hello Alexis," she greeted, sitting in a chair across from her. "I won't waste any time. I'm sure you probably told your little receptionist out there to come in within, say, twenty minutes to hustle me out of here," she chuckled a little. "I want you to tell me everything there is to know about Sonny Corinthos."
Folding her hands, Alexis merely shook her head, knowing that Anna was really getting down to business. "Well, it looks like you are holding true to what you said in the press conference you held." Coming from behind her desk, she sat on the edge of it, glancing at Anna. "What makes you think I have any information to share with you about Sonny?"
Seeing that Alexis was going to be a little bit of a challenge in getting what she needed, Anna continued to push a bit. "Come now, dear. You of all people know some of the things that make Sonny tick; what keeps him one step ahead of the game. I merely am here to ask you if you could give me some of the information; after all, as you said, I hold true to everything I said about ending organized crime."
"Let me ask you something, Commissioner Devane," she said, letting the new title play at her lips, "what do you plan on doing once you receive this information? Mind you, I'm not saying I'm going to offer you any, but I'm curious as to why you waltzed your way over to my office first? Why not...say, Ric? You could have easily gotten the goods from him."
Smiling now, Anna raised an eyebrow to that question. "For starters, Ric Lansing would have been too, let's say over eager to hand over the 'goods' on Corinthos. You, however, not only have a history with Sonny, but you know some of his weaknesses. That information right there, could help me in so many ways in getting him off the streets of Port Charles."
Going back to her seat, Alexis opened up the file cabinet next to her. "If you had come to me with evidence you already had, then I would help you and prosecute the case. But you are asking me to provide you with information that could seriously come back to haunt me. I’m not saying that I have information, but if I did, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I’m sorry.
Pulling her chair closer to the desk, Anna nodded in agreement. "Understood."
