Mac Scorpio, as portrayed by John J York is the police commissioner of Port Charles. Once the owner of the "Outback" Club, he assummed the role of Police Commissioner. When his brother, Robert, took off for parts unknown, Mac took over raising Robert's daughter Robin. THey still have a close relationship today.

Mac and Felicia Jones endured a long love entanglement up to her death. He raised her daughters, Maxie and Georgie, as his own. He is the only father that they know. He deeply loved Felicia, and still does. Following her death at the Nurse's Ball, he blamed himself. He turned to the bottle to ease the pain of her loss as well as the loss of Maxie.

Friends and family tried to intervene to get Mac to enter rehab. It took the urging of Bobbie, who has also suffered great loss to get him to go. Mac escaped and called the one person he felt could understand him: Bobbie. She got him back in and they are building a friendship now.

Mac is back working and taking everything day to day. He wants to rebuild his relationships that he almost destroyed. Look for his to do that as well as work in the aftermath of the Mayoral Race storyline.
