Ooo is Ashley coming back soon? Now THAT’s a character that can get me to watch the show.

Don't I know it? ;)

Trouble is, Ashley will probably be handed some godawful story, and poor Eileen will be there trying to salvage it.

Zilch faith in Josh Griffith.

FACTS.

That split personality storyline was meh, but Eileen Davidson gave a masterclass in spinning crap into gold from looooooong before the audience got the reveal. And the storyline took on a mind of its own due to her awesome acting in all the roles.

I was about to say I absolutely loved her performances even if the story was all over the place. So I’d definitely come back for her turning another story into gold with her performances as long it’s not Ashley’s death.

I can hate the pacing on that story and the plotholes, but Eileen Davidson did make me forget all of that and go along for the ride. The fact that Eileen clued the audience in in her actions...especially the subtleties WEEKS ahead of the story starting...still stands out to me. But I always love Ashley at the center of a story. Three different people (not surprising given Eileen's DAYS days) and they were all different, too. And it got a great climax (and set) at the end of it. I just wish we had got to see more of the fallout. Cuz I did leave for a while once ED exited.

If Malcolm is going to be off screen, Ashley might make me turn back in. Ashley in story...even better.

And same on the death. Don't even.

Was it Terry Lester or Peter B who said that Eileen always brought something unexpected to a scene when taping so they had to be ready to react?

Not in a negative way, like she was trying to outshine or upstage them, but rather just finding another angle in a scene.

I think Eileen and Terry definitely 'played' with each other onscreen.

OMG, I am catching up on Y&R and there is WAY TOO MUCH Phyllis. She is completely unbearable; I can't stand the character.

I so wish Roger Howarth was a new character. Billy Flynn is such a charismatic actor I have accepted him as Cane but I doubt that happens with Matt Clark.

It’s so funny because I was this close to saying “I think im actually starting to enjoy Phyllis again.” They actually had me rooting for her against the Newmans and all the judgy people in town because of her taking over Victors company.. but ofcourse they have to go and write her into the Matt Clark storyline and she’s back to being overexposed again. She is like the Taylor Swift of the soap world. She just has to be everywhere all the time until you get absolutely sick of seeing her.

Earlier in this May thread, there was discussion of the character Theo.

fyi the character Theo appears in the rerun airing Memorial Day May 25 in USA (already aired Friday May 22 in Canada).

It's a rerun of one of the 2019 July 4th carnival episodes.
Original airdate: July 3, 2019
Episode #11720 (season 46, episode 212)

Cool! re: Theo.

Fully agree we're getting WAY too much Phyllis -- along with her obnoxious acting tics in full force.

I honestly don’t understand the appeal of Phyllis. On the one hand, it’s commendable that Y&R doesn’t force its veterans to the back burner. But the show forsakes its name with this obsession with Phyllis who is long past entertaining anyone with her shrieking and jazz hands. The directors must be all afraid of MS. Emmy voters too since she still keeps winning.
