In a post on Instagram dedicated to her now former co-star, “General Hospital” actress Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) called Wes Ramsey “a consummate professional” following the dramatic conclusion to the Henrik Faison storyline which began in 2017. Better known as Peter August (Ramsey), Henrik Faison was the son of Cesar Faison and Alex Devane (also played by Hughes). The character was behind the deaths of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth; now appearing as Austin Gaitlin-Holt) and the yearslong capture of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), among a multitude of other crimes.

On the Wednesday, February 23 episode of the daytime drama series, Peter died after succumbing to his injuries from being hit over the head with a tire iron by Felica Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) who was protecting her daughter from Peter who was holding Maxie (Kirsten Storms) at gunpoint. Peter subsequently fell down an embankment and later died after Anna reveals she never called for an ambulance.

With no one left around after Drew escorted Felicia and Maxie away from the scene, Anna told Peter that Maxie and their daughter, Louise, will no longer have to fear him once he was gone. Anna then wished Peter to be at peace as he dies with his eyes wide open. A tearful Anna who had been holding his hand closed Peter’s eyes and walked away from his body.

“You are Renaissance man, a consummate professional. Thank you @wes_ramsey for being a great scene partner. Thank you for bringing your ‘A’ game each and every day to #GH. It’s been a pleasure exploring all the strange grey areas of a story where the villains were sometimes the victims, and the heroes weren’t always in the right,” read the beginning of Hughes’ post dedicated to Ramsey.

“You trod some difficult terrain and carried it with grace and dignity. Your chilling poise as the character, and transparent wound made working opposite you fulfilling and always surprising. To everything the road ahead brings you, to the moon,” said Hughes, using a “moon” emoji to emphasize her feelings.

“So well said,” commented Mathison of Hughes’ post. “Beautiful!” stated Maura West (Ava Jerome).

In a post of his own, posted mere hours after his last episode aired, Ramsey said, “Thank you for taking the journey with me. To those who were kind & supportive, my heart has felt inspired by you. To my friends & family (& the fans everywhere), it has been an honor to give everything I had to this & I will never forget how fun it was to entertain you.”

Real-life love Laura Wright who plays Carly Corinthos on the soap responded to Ramsey’s post, saying, “I love you baby !!!! You kicked ass !!!”
