Launched in 2010, the serial drama was created, inspired by such soaps as As the World Turns and Guiding Light. Centering around the main families: the Hughes/Johnsons and the Smithsons/Spencers, each episode showed the drama and development between the residents of Liberty City. With character bases, represented by daytime alumni, LIBERTY CITY ran for four seasons until 2013, when it went into an indefinite hiatus. In 2019, the serial returned for a one-off, special season five premiere episode. And, in 2021, resumed production on the fifth season, which is now rooted in the history of the previously-mentioned soaps, as well as desire to produce character-driven stories, and bringing forth a feeling the heyday of soaps once held, told in the structure of script in the modern day.
