That sounds right. Four. (Or maybe 3, with the 4th being a replacement for one of the other 3.)
You'd expect him to echo that same format with B&B in 1987, if that were his ideal working environment. And it appears that he did. I've watched those first twelve or fifteen episodes of "B&B" that have been released this so far this month, and it looks as though a few of the episodes were written entirely by Bill (the first episode, for instance), a few were written by Bill & Bradley Bell, a few by Bill and Meg Bennett, and a few by Bill and Jack Smith.
Honestly, my biggest issue with Belle/MM is that she's way too close in age with Ali Sweeney. If I was in charge I'd probably recast her with an actress that's at least ten years apart from Sweeney (and looks visibly younger) and also put Claire in a Mike Horton-freezer for at least five years (if the show is still on then) and then maybe have her return as vaguely "early 20s" lol.
Variety reported P&G interested in The Morleys by Vera Caspary and Lloyd Rosamund as a daytime soap. After a script is submitted they'll take it from there.
Caspary was an author most famous for Laura which became a hit movie in the 40's.
