Ben is worse than Sonny. Because they did sorta acknowledge Sonny's actions for awhile in the 90's and it obviously wasn't as bad as Ben. And I definitely don't think RSW and VK have the chemistry MB and VM did. They certainly white washed Sonny in the 2000's, but I think they were okay at showing Sonny's faults in the 90's. I guess the best way for me to explain it for myself is that I never considered Sonny the good guy, but still adored him with Brenda and rooted for him. But Ben is made out to be the good guy all the time and we aren't even allowed to make our own decisions because the writers make us think we have to love him.
Yeah, Steve was a little more than gray. He was def a creeper in the beginning, but again did not kill people and I think the 80's had anti-heroes that did things that would not be accepted today.
Personally I thought Henrietta had a lot of live left in her. She was unique and I loved the character. I suspect she was written out so new Head Writers Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin could bring in some of their own characters. In addition to Roy and Henrietta they also wrote out Gil Fenton, Vivien Gorrow, Nicole Love, Abel/Leo Marsh, Julia Shearer and David Thatcher and Stacey Winthrop.
