Does Anyone else Remember WOST?

Anyone remember [S.W.S.N.B.N.], who used to post on the WOST message board?  She bragged about writing an episode of DOOL, and everyone thought she was lying.  But I watched on the date she suggested, and her name was right there in the credits.   She was actually very knowledgable about soaps.  Particularly NBC soaps from the 1970s.

Why is [!@#$%^&*]'s name hidden in my post above?

She is not allowed to be mentioned on her thus ...her name not showing up. She also made her way over here but was banned...lol.

Why was she banned?   I'm not her, by the way.  But she was telling the truth about DOOL.  I can't attest to any of her other claims.

Actually, I don't really care why she was banned.  But why can't her name be mentioned?

She was a trouble maker. Not everything she said was the truth. It was a big disaster with her on here.

I don't remember the details on that one who shall not be named (and I can't even remember exactly WHY she can't be named), or her continued presence (in Twitterland?). I just remember some story bible she suggested where a woman was in love with two men and she wanted that heroine to profess her love for both men by shouting it out to the whole town in the middle of a church service or some such nonsense.

I remember her identity was sort of questionable.  And some folks believed she was Jacqueline Courtney in disguise, at least for a while.  LOL.  I never believed that one.  But her name must have been real, at least in some legal way.  Because that was the same name that appeared in the DOOL credits.

K*la B*of is a real published author with several books out, most recently The Sexy Part of the Bible. Her controversial forced affair with Osama bin Laden is part of why she was so controversial with soaps and got fired. She worked at DOOL then says she moved to Y&R during the LML era to help write the black characters. This is when Dru and Neil we’re dealing with Carmen. Looking at her writing style and how different they were during this period I find it believable. Dru and Neil were carrying the show at that time and in general the black characters were equal in terms of screen time for what would be the last time. It’ll never happen again but I’d welcome her back. I still follow her on Twitter. She’s mellowed tremendously lol. She mostly tweets about her love of DOOL, the only soap she currently watches.

This is her episode of her YouTube show where she talks about her love of soaps (she learned English watching them) and also behind the scenes stuff.

Did she ever admit her DAYS 'bible' (featuring Billie as Catwoman, etc.) was sheer fanfic? Because it was. When I saw those fake timejump spoilers they screamed KB.

That is ludicrous. Why would JC run around pretending to be an unhinged black woman who had an affair with a psycho?

Fake time jump spoilers???  Unfortunately they aren't fake.  I only wish they were.  I believe the time jump happens this week, or maybe next week.

There were spoilers involving stories like Ben and Will [!@#$%^&*].

maybe it sounded ridiculous at the time, but now it sounds better than anything Days has done in years. If you’re reading this, [S.W.S.N.B.N.], I approve!

I can't remember the details, but a few people thought they saw hints in some of the things she said about Another World.  And some folks were connived she was a total fake, (which wasn't true at all) and I think they were just willing to believe anything so they wouldn't have to admit she was for real.  Who knows really?

I was reminiscing and thinking about the site and how it was truly ahead of its time. I miss this time of the year when WOST would whip out classic holiday episodes along with their archive of soap themes. Yes, we have YouTube, but I just miss that site so much...😔

That was my favorite site with great videos and very good conversations.

Of course!

This was back in the REAL PLAYER days when it took you 50 minutes to download/buffer 20 minutes of soap material... It feels sooooo close and long ago at the same time. The site was one of the reasons why I upgraded my internet connection for the first time. Not yet to ADSL, but still, we are talking about the early 2000s here!? Or was it even before???

The site was special because it was the first true celebration of video (and audio) of soap material on the WWW. Plus, Webmaster Brian (?) really loved the genre and tried to curate the material like museum pieces at times. Material was uploaded at some show's anniversary, some ultra rare other show were added to the mix etc.

I also think it was one first sights trying to sell memberships (I think I paid at some time...) to cover for server costs. It all felt so genuine and groundbreaking.

WOST had wonderful items on it & they gave away specifics, too!
