DramatistDreamer Members Share Posted March 16, 2019 A crisis in journalism, every day, in every city. Cuts in Cleveland today: "In a statement, the Guild said that its membership had been reduced by roughly 90 percent in the past 20 years, from 340 to about 30, after the latest cuts." https://t.co/usEwbwjTyR — Matt Pearce (@mattdpearce) March 15, 2019

Chuck Todd is a sycophant and a fool who is proud to suck the teat of bigots and hatemongers. NBC News deserves nothing but vomit stains all over their carpets. And not the ones Matt Lauer left behind.

Blame the ooga booga man for all your country's problems, rather than admit that you are the ones to blame. Germanic peoples can be sooooooooooo predictable. Thanks, Carl, for the article! DramatistDreamer Members Share Posted May 7, 2019 Surprised this hasn't been posted yet. WATCH: @Reuters journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo reunite with their families after being freed from jail in Myanmar. Khan Members Share Posted May 7, 2019 I just heard about that on the radio. (Yes, I still listen to the radio, lol). Apparently, it was a development no one was expecting, as the two had received seven-year jail sentences.

Apparently, it was a development no one was expecting, as the two had received seven-year jail sentences. I still listen to the radio too (albeit mostly online). Writing a radio play is on my "To Do" list (which keeps getting pushed further down). Myanmar might be pushing for an infusion of foreign aid or... something. They've been seen as a pariah over the past few years, mainly over the treatment of Rohingya and jailing journalists made the leaders (including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi) look even worse. This might be a gesture to try to put themselves in higher standing but nevertheless, I'm glad these journalists were finally freed.
DramatistDreamer Members Share Posted May 10, 2019 We know that this happens in other industries too. When POC speak out about lack of diversity, they generally get penalized. THIS: Harvard Business Review found that newsroom layoffs disproportionately involve people of color and women, and that people of color are penalized for speaking out about diversity.https://t.co/aZ4UPhADiy — Eugene Scott (@Eugene_Scott) May 9, 2019
