Beth Milstein is the associate head writer. She has a long soap history, starting with Days as an associate producer. She ended up on writing staff for several years and had co-head duties for a bit. She ended up partnering for many years with Anne Schoettle and they were script editors and script writers for Sunset Beach and B&B.  Maria Bell hired her after the writer's strike ended when she fired all of Latham's hacks.  Beth was a YR script writer/editor for a long time along with Schoettle though they wrote separate scripts, didn't collaborate.  Pratt fired her and Schoettle to bring in AMC vets Rebecca McCarty and Kate Hall.  Mal brought her back.  In between she returned to Days to help Griffith as he ruined Days during Dena's six month leave.

Yes, she posted last night on twitter that her second episode airs today but she didn't confirm if she's on contract.  I would suspect not. Seems like Days has been farming out some scripts to newbies (Alex, Sarah and now Annamarie).  Young just aired an episode by a young writer as well (Lia Langworthy).

Did you find out if Richard Culliton retired?  He's 69, would make sense. Carolyn is 69 as well, wonder if she's going to retire soon.

Don't know what his status is. Maybe if he retired, she'll keep working a bit. They live in New York so it's not like they have to leave the house and go to the studio. A pretty nice gig to write from home!
