There was an article I saw about all the random movies Academy members are sampling in quarantine. They did say that the precursors enticed people to watch buzzy films like Minari, but they also said that a lot of voters were simply watching whatever comes first in their queue. Was it the THR arcticle? The precedent is certainly there. A lot of predictors suggest Zendaya is in the running and her film, Malcolm & Marie, hasn't even been released yet. Faulkner Members Share Posted February 4 I totally forgot these were coming out today. SAG has some overlap with AMPAS, so these nominations could be an interesting bellwether for the Oscar nominations. They appear to have enjoyed Hillbilly Elegy more than the critics, and Helena Zengel is somewhat of a surprise.
