Episode # 12792 (3/1/16)...
Chad has a vision of Stefano, and opens his heart to his dad. He expresses regret about the way things ended between them. Stefano urges his son to be the man he wants to be. Abigail finds Chad asleep on the couch. He tells her about his dream, then they plan their wedding and look forward to a lifetime of happiness.
 
Episode # 12910 (8/31/16)
Chad says goodbye to Abigail in his own way. He gets drunk and destroys the study. Belle arrives and helps sober him up. Chad declares he’s going to honor Abigail by legitimizing DiMera Enterprises – and he’s like to hire Belle to be his legal counsel in doing so.

Nicole arrives at Chloe’s to speak with her in person, and is overwhelmed to find Deimos alive. Nicole demands an explanation, but Parker comes home and interrupts before Nicole can learn the whole story. Alone, Nicole tells Deimos how Kate fingered her in his possible murder. She needs Deimos to come back to Salem and clear her name. Deimos agrees to clear her on one condition. Nicole assumes Deimos wants her to... sleep with him, but Deimos, who’s been deeply affected by almost dying, only wants the truth, whatever it is. He is sure he will be able to tell whether or not she’s lying this time. Nicole admits she might have been able to fall for the man she thought he was. The man he might still be someday. Deimos says he will go back to Salem with her.
 
Episode # 12901 (8/4/16)
Nicole is unable to resist her attraction to Deimos… and the two make love. Deimos proposes to an emotional Nicole, insisting that she has changed him for the better and promises to make her happy. But when he mentions the possibility of children... Nicole runs out. Deimos destroys his memory box and turns his focus toward a future with the woman he loves.
 
Episode # 12946 (10/21/16)
 
Nicole finally reveals to Deimos that Chloe is indeed carrying his child. Deimos, at first, is ecstatic, but then later realizes Nicole knew of the secret for months… and his joy turns to darkness. Later, Deimos sends a goon to hunt down Chloe and bring her back to Salem.

Episode # 12930 (9/29/16)...
Abe prepares for a press conference, trying to quell people’s fears about the fugitives. Orpheus hijacks the broadcast of Abe’s press conference. Meanwhile, Clyde is in a hotel room… and has a rifle. When a shot is fired, pandemonium erupts. Abe steps in front of Aiden just as Clyde pulls the trigger. Everyone in the square tries to take cover as Abe falls to his knees. Theo crawls over to Abe, who is in obvious pain.
 
Episode # 12931 (9/30/16)
 
As Clyde’s shot makes contact, the chaos continues. Hope learns from Rafe that Clyde is probably the shooter, but later realizes the victim wasn’t Clyde’s intended target, it was Abe, who is brought immediately to the hospital for surgery.
 
SUPPORTING ACTRESS KATE MANSI (ABIGAIL) EMMY SUBMISSION...
 
Episode # 12820 (4/8/16)...
 
Abigail claims to Ben that she's unhappy with Chad, wants to run away with Ben. She seduces him into going upstairs with her, where she stabs him with scissors, knocks him up and ties him up. She then, finally, answers Chad's call, says she's fine. Afterwards, she douses Ben with lighter fluid and lights a match.
 
Episode # 12821 (4/11/16)
 
Abigail tosses a match onto the bed and sets Ben on fire. Chad rushes in and manages to put out the flames – which greatly upsets Abigail. She flees downstairs, and Chad follows. Abigail lashes out at him for stopping her, insisting she needed to kill Ben to stop him from ever hurting her or Thomas again. Chad gets her to recount what happened, Abigail whispers to Thomas that she’s going to kill Ben.
 
Episode # 12832 (4/26/16)
 
Chad convinces Abigail to sign herself in to Shady Hills. Abigail’s sedated, has a nightmare that Ben shows up and strangles her with a necktie. She fears it will come true. She’ll never be safe.
 
Episode # 12870 (6/22/16)
 
Abigail is struggling at Shady Hills, now realizing – despite her memory lapse – that it’s possible she’s the one who set the near-deadly fire. JJ tries to console her but she fears the worst. She just wants to go home. JJ, his heart breaking, has to tell her they might send her to another facility… with more security. Also, Marlena visits Abigail and tries to calm her.

The chaos in Salem continues as Orpheus, Clyde and Xander are still on the loose. Abe prepares for a press conference, trying to quell people’s fears about the fugitives. The hostages are bound and gagged being held by Orpheus and Xander in the Warehouse. Orpheus hijacks the broadcast of Abe’s press conference. Meanwhile, Clyde is in a hotel room… and has a rifle. When a shot is fired, pandemonium erupts. Earlier, Aiden tries to talk to Hope. She brushes him off, and Rafe intercedes. Later, Rafe asks Hope what’s going on between her and Aiden, and Hope isn’t sure, but it’s like Aiden won’t give up…

Episode # 12833 (4/27/16)
 
The Prom is on and Ciara and Theo, along with Claire, Henry, Jade, and Joey all seem to have a good time, but when Theo and Ciara are named Homecoming Queen and King, Mark acts out. Ciara doesn’t want to take this lying down, so she enlists the help of her friends, but it backfires – big time.
 
"When Time Was On Our Side", the song performed by Olivia Rose Keegan (Claire) at Salem High's prom on April 27, 2016 has been nominated for Best Song at this year's Daytime Emmys. The song was written by Genesee Nelson, the daughter of "Days" composer Brent Nelson.

The Daytime Emmys stopped being relevant once Susan Lucci's streak was over.

 

I haven't watched the Daytime Emmys in full since the last CBS broadcast. Honestly, I don't miss them. They've fallen from a glamorous and exciting prime time broadcast to something put together at the last minute on the cheap.

 

There's such a small pool of actors now that the awards are essentially participation ribbons at this point.

I agree that the Younger Leading Actor/Actress categories are not necessary at this point. The pool of talent for those categories are very shallow, and the winners are laughable (DAYS' Paige, remember?) 

 

Wow, just thinking of the DAYS submissions. Work that aired in March of last year would've actually been filmed in like September 2015.

Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B) is nominated for a 9th time, this is his first lead actor nomination.  Clifton becomes the 12th actor to score nominations in all three acting categories.  If he wins he will become the 2nd to win in all three categories (joining Heather Tom) but the first to win them all for the same role.  If Clifton win's it would also be the first in this category for an actor from B&B, the series has received just four nominations in this category.

 

Billy Flynn (Chad, DAYS) scores his 1st nomination.  The last person to win on their very first Emmy nomination was Robert S. Woods in 1983.  Flynn's co-star, Vincent Irizarry (Deimos) is nominated for a 4th time.  Irizarry is a member of the actors nominated in all three acting categories.  Irizarry won supporting actor in 2009 (in a tie with Jeff Branson) for his work on AMC.  DAYS has two wins in the category both by Macdonald Carey in '74 and '75.
