I hope you're right, but at the same time it's hard to imagine that Diane would move away from Emmerdale. Her entire family is there: Bernice, Gabby, Victoria and baby Harry. And with Gabby pregnant and everything that's going on in Victoria's life it just seems very unlike Diane to leave...
Whatever happens I will miss her though, very much.
It is weird they do LOL. Griffith and Valentini seem to want Hallmark level drama. And there's nothing wrong with that level of drama - I just want more for my soaps than building and building a story and then pulling the rug out in the reveal. It doesn't have to be toxic "everyone hates each other" Phelps energy but gimme something.
And it is interesting how B&B and DAYS seem to blow the chance for some fallout and real drama and go back to "nothing really mattered" let's move on to the next five minute story while Y&R and GH seem to avoid any real drama even when the story is there and writes itself, you know?
I didn't explain that well but I see what you see with them. It's so weird.
You explained it perfectly, and I completely agree. “Hallmark-level drama” totally nails it too.
Given that people in Salem are still surprised whenever someone returns from dead, wears a mask, meets their doppelganger, or finds their lost child, despite the fact that it has previously happened to most of their relatives, I think it's going to take a while.
Meanwhile for a 94-year-old man Doug is surprisingly spiritedly, so maybe possession does a body good.
