Tyler Perry's 'If Loving You Is Wrong'

Recommended Posts

I'm way early with this post but I've wanted to make it since the cast was announced back in June....

You can view that with the below link...

http://www.deadline.com/2014/06/own-sets-cast-for-new-tyler-perry-drama-series-if-loving-you-is-wrong/

We'll be seeing daytime alum Aiden Turner and two of my favorites Zulay Henao (from Love Thy Neighbor) & Heather Hemmens (LOVED her on CWs Hellcats)...

I hope you HAHN posters watch because that's definitely one of my top threads to watch simply for the posts.

They just released the teaser for the series yesterday... I believe it aired during HAHN,

What's your early thoughts? September is too far away.

Could be and hear you.... I know those were definitely used in For Better Or Worse and in some ways on House of Payne.

It was formerly known as Single Mom's Club, modeled after the film I guess. But I haven't watched which I hope helps when I watch this show. I don't really plan on watching that movie unless it comes to Netflix or if I get it from the library.

I can see where you're drawing that comparison.

According to the fan Twitter for the show, Jasmine Guy will guest in a few episodes. If this becomes official then I am even more sold since I absolutely love her... also I would love to see Victoria Rowell on here... I can see her doing good and giving her all with something like this.

Now you know O don't mind (at least probably in parts) seeing as how bad OWN was doing until these shows showed up as the new kids on the block and brought much needed eyeballs. Although, not sure if people stick around to watch other shows.

I'm still curious if Tyler will still be doing his own network since he said before he was looking into that but all his new developments wind up here.

That promo is GOOD! Id be super pumped if it wasn't a TP production. Please tell me he's not writer, producer, director, casting agent, stylist, camera man, etc....

Seriously tho, have you seen the credits for HAHN?

No, but I've seen them for For Better Or Worse and he appeared a lot. It always made me chuckle and think are there any other black people who do X, Y, Z that could be hired?

We just recently got OWN and then I forgot all the time in the past to DL HAHN, but I really liked reading the thread and seeing Cheap's gifs.

    • Ben is a psycho and that's why I hate his behavior so much.  Because like I said upthread John, Bo, Steve have all done similar crazy things for their amnesiac ladies, but it doesn't come off so awful.   But it's probably because I assume they won't strangle their wives and I am still not convinced Ben won't.   I know nothing about it, but I would assume it's fine?  Is there anything in the works that could possibly replace Days?  A 7th hour of Today lol?
    • Quick question - that opening intro... how long did they use that for? Hadn’t that been around since 1981 or something? I’m surprised they were still using it in 1992...
    • A small part of me feels pity for her because she built her image entirely around physical appearance: the glam squad, the outrageous spending, the costumed designer LEWKS at every outing. Every detail on her had to be airbrushed, unblemished perfection. And now she is trying hard to keep up appearances on the glam front, but is slipping and HW Twitter is all over it.   Best case scenario: she has to shoulder a massive financial liability for years to come. Worst case: liability + prison. It's a slow moving car crash, and that's why she is willing to play the villainess on BH right now. That scene with Sutton was pure performative soap opera. If Tom was still swimming in millions, she would tell Bravo where to stick it, but she can't now.   Hubris, thy name is Girardi.     I did not see Porsha's Insta Live, so I imagine she is defending herself against charges that she is not really a social activist but more using the movement to burnish her own image? And that she didn't want to share the BLM limelight with Kandi or Kenya?   This is why Bravo's embrace of social justice has been a little shaky.  Because the expectation is that some of these women must speak from high moral authority. However, as we all know, these women are flawed. Porsha is flawed. Gizelle too. And social media jumps on any flaw and it overshadows the message sometimes. And because they are flawed, it makes us wonder... are they doing this because they care? Or for their own image?    I will say that I appreciate that Bravo is mixing up its casts and trying to embrace in its own superficial way the idea of inclusively.... I think many casts are all the better for it. As Ramona would say, it's a work in progress. And honestly, there were many things that were lacking on ATL this season, but the BLM segment was not one of them.
    • I don't think her name was ever Theresa Regina. It was Theresa Rebecca. Lloyd called her Rebecca, and Estelle called her Theresa. Everyone else (Travis, Liza, Stu, Danny & Ryder) called her TR.
