Yeah, I wish we'd gotten a few passing glimpses of Dixie at work before this. Nothing major, just a few scenes of her consulting on another case or having a patient call her. Something to give a little credibility to this version of her.

PP is saying that there are some new surprises with characters coming so I will say that Frankie, Natalia and Brot just might be coming up. Tad does not make excuses for Jesse. They are besties. Jesse is not completely on his own. Angie always puts family first bringing family together in prayer and unconditional love and forgiveness and things will be OK since Angie was not exactly honest with Jesse with her intentions to go before the parole board to expedite David's parole so there are things that can go both ways.

And Jesse's intentions are good and he is scared out of his mind right now so he might not be thinking clearly with anything right now.

This will all come out and the new writers will probably move on to other characters and storylines and give the Hubbards a break a little.

ITA with what you said. Overall, I thought it was another great episode.

I'm glad they're taking their time giving Jane a story, but that phone call today was certainly suspicious.

I was somewhat surprised that Colby thought Pete would want to date her and I'm glad he blew her off instead. Colby/David turned out to be both tamer and hotter than I expected from the spoiler. I'm so glad Colby finally has personality and imo she could easily be as big a breakout vixen as Erica was originally.

I hope Tad returns later this fall and we finally learn why he was unreachable!

I never imagined I'd hear Dr Joe ever say "I don't swing, period!" tongue.png I can't wait to hear what he says to Billy Clyde on Wednesday!

The final scene with Angie/Jesse/Cassandra had me tearing up. I'm glad they didn't stretch it out so Angie somehow caught a glimpse of Cassandra's porn video.

I laughed when I heard the guitar riff. I think they're playing it as a joke now.

I don't see why Dixie would go to Opal instead of Joe. I think she wanted someone to stand up to Billy Clyde in Tad's absence and I don't think she'd consider Opal as strong a contender against Billy Clyde as Joe would be.

LMAO at the thought of David coming so quickly!

ICAM! Jesse's has had so many secrets from Angie since his return from the dead, starting with fathering another child and going through trying to replace her dead child with Maya's. It pained me to see him accusing Cass of hallucinating instead of just being honest for once. I can't wait for the fallout when Angie learns the truth yet again!

Ellie was Jesse's child too. He never wants to hurt Angie. He was living in fear right up to the wedding/kidnapping of Frankie and then Angie being taken by Robert Gardner. Angie has been no saint either. Not telling Jesse she was going to go before the parole board for David. Angie is not such a great wife and mother. Her decisions are always for her and not always in the best interest for her family. I am not into Jesse bashing at all. I see his reasons and he has great intentions too. Angie carries her bible around and gathers family together in prayer so this will come into play for the healing of the Hubbard family. Natalia would defend her dad Jesse and Frankie would be supportive of both parents. He has run out on his mother Angie at times when things are not going well and he does not always agree with his mom Angie at times. If Frankie and Natalia were around the fallout would be something else and Cassandra would once again go off and be around her Dad Jacob (Darnell Williams).

I didn't say she should have talked to Opal instead of Joe. Why cant she talk to both of them? Would it have hurt to have Opal and Joe in that scene together? Opal was heavily involved in her story when Billy Clyde was here the last time and she is supposed to be her "mother in law". I find it odd that they haven't had any interaction since the show began and Dixie going to her about Billy Clyde would have been a perfect way to address that while making good use of both of their histories.

ohmy.png I nearly choked on my drink reading that. You're so bad. But hey, in David's defense, he was practically the sex God of Pine Valley before. If he and Erica could go at it 19 times in one night, I think he'll find a way to make sure Colby leaves satisfied. ;)

I like the fact that we're getting to see some of Opal's emotional life. I also like the fact that she's not being written as a busybody solely for the purpose of comic relief. She said herself today that she didn't realize how lonely she was until Pete came home and God bless her, she's doing something about it.

Have they mentioned at all what happened to that high school boyfriend who showed back up in her life at the end of AMC 1.0? If not I wish they could bring back Tom Wopat to put a spark back in her step. I loved his short visit all those years ago and Opal deserves a guy who can sing to her.

Joe may not swing. period. For a moment though, I thought he might take a swing at BCT. That was before Ruby got him all flummoxed.

Speaking of BCT, I wonder how long he'll have the estate. Pete looks like he wants to investigate who is behind the shell corporation that bought the house. Yeah, I knew that Opal was just dying to move into that new tower where Petey just moved into--I posted this last week. I also think there is the possibility that when both discover who the new owner is, they just may want the house back.

I think that Sal Stowers hasn't done a bad job with this storyline but yes, I do think the actress may need a little rest. We got the gist of the withdrawal agony so we don't need to see every tremor and shudder. Perhaps the next we'll see is a consult between Dixie and the new Doctor (who really should be a surgeon, not a PHP) and all the disagreements and tensions that go with it. Griffin really should've been in on this story. This is an opportunity to do something besides growl at David and interact with someone besides Cara.

Yes, I heard that guitar riff when Colby entered the scene--WTH? I was just fine without hearing any guitar riff. Who ever is doing the music @ PP reminds me of the Will Ferrell character from SNL who kept saying 'I think we need more cowbell'...or 'You know what this needs? More cowbell!' Someone in the music dept at PP is saying 'You know what this scene needs? Some of that guitar riff!' Just say 'no' to the guitar riff.

Seeds are being planted for Jane--she's showing signs of that interior life we all were hoping she'd have! And those brief moments of her talking with David--was I the only one who picked up a little bit of heat under the surface? Yes, VI has chemistry with pretty much everyone in every scene but when Jane handed him that cup of coffee, the look that they traded...oh boy! I am seeing David make up for lost time from that prison stint.

Speaking of David,

Colby and David hitting the sheets. Does anyone see an appearance from Liza down the road?

On the podcast last Thursday, someone mentioned Lee Meriwether and PP didn't speak to it but hinted at appearances of certain characters. I wonder whether who they'll be?

Could it be a coincidence that Jane's last name is McIntyre? Isn't Grant Aleksander who played Alec McIntyre working with one of the producers on a web series? Beyond that, I felt like they were maybe referring to their talks with Lucci & possibly MEK.

Weirdly, I'm OD'd on the Cassandra story but not the actress who I feel is like supporting what is essentially a Jesse/Angie story.

Did anyone notice in the latest TOLN email (just seeing those now gives me heart palpitations)-
