Congratulations to "Days of Our Lives" for receiving a record-setting 17 Daytime Emmy nominations! The show's previous record was 15 nominations in 2012. The Daytime Emmys will be handed out on Friday, June 14 (Creative Arts) and live on CNN: Headline News on Sunday, June 16. "Days" received its 17th nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. Peggy McCay, who recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of her debut as Caroline Brady, received her 3rd nomination for the role. She was previously nominated in 1986 and 1987. Arianne Zucker (Nicole) received her 2nd nomination, after previously being nominated in 2010. Chandler Massey received his 3rd straight nomination for his portrayal as Will. He was nominated in 2011 and won his first Daytime Emmy in 2012. Congratulations to Freddie Smith (Sonny), who has been nominated for the first time in his career. "Days" also received nominations for Directing, Production Design, Casting, Costume Design, Hairstyling, Lighting Direction, Sound Mixing, Makeup, Editing, Music, Technical Direction and Stunts. "Days" has now received 229 overall Daytime Emmy nominations. Double nominee Executive producer/music composer Ken Corday adds to his "Days" record of most nominations in "Days" history with his 22nd and 23rd nominations. Head makeup artist Gail J. Hopkins received her 16th overall nomination. The other "Days" people to now have at least 10 Daytime Emmy nominations are: lighting director Ted Polmanski (13), director Herb Stein (13), associate director/editor Joseph Lumer (10) and makeup artist Nina Wells (10). "Days" had 7 double nominees this year: Executive producer/music composer Ken Corday; producer/director Albert Alarr; and associate directors/editors Michael Fiamingo, Tina Keller, Joseph Lumer, Jenee Muyeau and Lugh Powers.
