JOHN ROBBINS- 40 A COLLEGE PROFFESSOR HIS WIFE WALKED OUT ON HIM A YEAR AGO AND HE IS RAISING HIS 2 KIDS BY HIMSELF.

This all sounds pretty good! Have you started casting your characters yet?

Yes I have at least 5 actors express interest so far in the project, and will be speaking to others that I have worked with before.

We are planning to shoot our first episode September 12th. Everyone has been cast so far except for 2 roles.Scripts are being written and we will be shooting 2 episodes a month. We will be having original music also.We will be using classic organ and piano music. I hope everyone will be watching our production a real throw back to what soaps use to be, about good storytelling about charecters you care about. The kind of soap Irna Phillips, Agnes Nixon and Bill Bell use to write but the networks won't let them write anymore.We will have longer scenes, smaller sets (very basic) and a cast of 13.You will be able to see the show in Maryland on PAC14 then we will be posting the episodes on the internet for others to view.

In developing the show I decided to make Nancy a nurse instead of a teacher, it would place her more in the center of action with other charchters in our hospital set. I also added a friend for Nancy at the hospital Maryjo Keyser a no nonsense by the book veteran nurse, John's son Will bit the dust in the development, I decided to drop the role might be hard to cast and not sure how the role would develop when trying to establish everyone else in the begining. I also decided to age Penny from 13 to 15 , I thought there would be more story possiblilities there.

The major sets we will use are:

Matthews living room/ dining room

Gull's Nest bar and grille

Nurses station 3 west at the Hospital

John's Living room

Chris's law office

Student lounge at university

John's office at university

Mike's gym

We have set September 12th as our first day of taping. I hope alot of you will be watching once the episodes are posted on line. Our show is a real tribute to the old soaps. Based in reality, Characters rich in history and depth. Family realationships and togetherness. We will have longer scenes where people really talk to one another and you learn who they are and how they relate to one another. We will have also have organ and piano music for our theme and scene music. We are basing our show on the type of show Irna Philips, William Bell, and Agnes Nixon use to write. Story comes first. Stories about people.

You don't need organ music to make it a classic soap. I do wonder about that. Esp in the year 2011 going on 2012.

Hopefully the "organ" music is contemporary

We had a cast and production meeting last week, discused the show got to know each other and discussed how the show will be filmed. We also heard the theme and musical cues that will be used in the show. Then we read thru the first episode. We film the first episode on September 26th and the 2nd on Oct 10th. We should be airing soon after that. Below is a sample of our credit crawl that will run at the end of the show. More names to be added especially from our studio crew.

Wanted to let everyone know we shot the first episode last Monday evening, September 26th. We began at 7pm and were done by 9:30. I saw the raw footage and it looks amazing. I am very excited for everyone to see our new soap. We will shoot a scene on location this Saturday and shoot the 2nd episode on Monday evening Oct 10th. When we have a few episodes edited and in the can we will begin to broadcast. I hope you will all enjoy following the Matthews and Tate familys and their friends in the town of Salisbury Md.

We went on location this morning and shot 2 scenes for episode 2 in the series. Was really exciting to see the actors and crew shooting. We will shoot again Monday evening . When we have about 4 episodes ready we will begin to air them. Hope you all will tune in.

On Monday night we shot 2 scenes for episode 3 of the series. Went great. Can't wait for the show to start airing and get the audiences reaction.
