Exactly. I think this has a lot to do with it. This time last year, a lot of people were still out of work and possibly still quarantined (lucky them, huh), so watching television was easier. I don't see many people DVRing a talk show at this point, when they can get highlights on YouTube.
Yeah; it was such a jarring switch, and they kept using the voiceover for a few episodes. Such a bad change.
Switching from Clayton Norcross to Jeff Trachta was such a downgrade. For me, Norcross was the best in the role, followed by Winsor Harmon. Do we know why the switch between Norcross and Trachta happened? Or is it another Judith Baldwin/Nancy Burnett situation?
Thankfully, William J. Bell had this unspoken rule (at least I believe it was unspoken) to not recast a character more than three times.
Part of me wishes Phyllis is either related to Curtis, Portia or Shawn. And create a major back story there, expanding on Phyllis' back story that she [might have] kept secret from the dearly departed Lenny.
The hospital and Quartermaines should be one of the front-burning pushes of this soap. It's time.
