I want to say it was gone for good after the gas pipe explosion in 1987 (?). Nevertheless, the Chateau lived on into the '90s in at least one corner of fandom -- it was the "location" of the "How to Host a Murder" party game. Now, when did The Goalpost disappear? There was also McKay's. And then everyone needed to go eat at Holidays (Hayley and Mateo's place) before it was destroyed for SOS. I also liked the New York place the characters went to called Nexus...in the 80s and 90s.
