Not necessarily.  On his way out of Pine Valley, Eric Kane betrayed his daughter's trust by selling the stocks of Enchantment that she had given him to (I think) Natalie.  After that, I don't think she had much contact with her father -- not even when it was revealed that she had been raped at his Hollywood house when she was fourteen, that Kendall was the product of said rape, or that Eric basically pimped out Erica to her rapist in order to get him to appear in one of his movies -- until she received word that he had passed away (this time, for real).

Oddly enough, the first time that I ever watched All My Children (other than seeing an episode when I was on vacation) was the episode in which Mona received word that Eric was "dead," and all the characters were so worried about how hurt Erica was going to be.  This was in October 1971.

Oh!!  At first I thought you meant the character of Simone Torres (Terri Ivens).

Do you mean her scenes with the character of Taylor Roxbury-Cannon (Ingrid Rogers) in the episode I posted??

Hayley's dark wig, Anna Devain's scar and Patch's eye patch will go down in soap history as the oddest choices for character hair/makeup introduction in soap history.  Apparently, in soapland, it is easier to get rid of a scar and a wig than an eye patch.
