I believe Hilary wanted Gregg to take over as Sam Rappaport on OLTL. Kale browne got fired & HBS & Mark Derwin didnt like him. Gregg said no so Gary Tomlin hired Larry Lau who i liked as Sam

That was wonderful. They are my golden generation of this show. I could listen to the three of them forever, trading stories. I wonder how the character of Tom would've evolved if Gregg Marx had stayed in the role. He would've been a fabulous DA.

The miscarriage storyline is still vidid in my mind. The way it was told... and to see Margo vulnerable that way.

Great stories about Liz Hubbard.

What a great afternoon. With all the crap happening in the world, this really put a needed smile on my face.

Hillary mentions that Mercedes Ruehl and Dana Delaney auditioned for Margo against her. Dana had only been off the show (as Hayley) for a few years. Interesting.

Alan really didn’t know the child Lyla gave birth to?  KATIE.  Or that Jermaine Jackson and Whitney Houston sang Tom and Margo’s song?  **sigh**  Do some research, guy. You don’t know the shows as well as WE do and you worked there.

And Whitney and Jermaine performed one or two other songs on the show too but 'If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful' was Tom & Margo's theme song. Having access to clips would've been very helpful in that case but yeah, soap songs were a big part of the 80s, lol.

Dana Delaney must've started China Beach a few short years after that audition, so her name must've been in the casting pipeline.

OMG at Scott mentioning how Mary Linda Rapelye's character Maggie went to the Hayloft and never came out. Personally, I didn't care for that set but I wonder if that was the last time The Hayloft was seen onscreen?

They all had a big laugh at the concept of SORASing.

Scott, Hillary, and Gregg have amazing chemistry together and you could tell how much they enjoyed working together, and how close they are in real-life. Nothing felt fake about it, and conversation naturally flowed.

LOL at Scott saying the script was a mere "reference point" for Liz Hubbard. I still think that may have been a big part of her tumultuous relationship with Marland.

Gregg and Scott are both DILFs. :)

I only wish someone other than Alan was doing these reunions though. He needs to accept the fact he's no longer employed by P&G so there's no need to be such a "company man." I was bit peeved when he rolled his eyes and said "supposed" when Eileen Fulton's grandma clause came up - there's nothing supposed there, Eileen's spoken publicly about it many times. Hillary did clarify that Eileen no longer had that clause in her contract when she came back to the show, and a lot of fans were off the mark blaming her for Margo and Tom losing the baby.

Exactly. Eileen had that clause in the 70’s because Tom was aged so rapidly and married off to Carol, then Natalie. Eileen had seen what becoming a grandmother onscreen did to Pat Bruder’s Ellen (and it killed off Barbara Berger’s GREAT-grandmother Claire).

He’s somewhat uninformed and disrespectful about anything that happened prior to 1997, it seems.

So I won’t hold out hope for the Kathryn Hays/Marie Masters/Patricia Bruder episode that I NEED.

Fans of P&G soaps really need a high-level advocate, someone who can communicate our needs to P&G.

It's incredible, in the wake of the pandemic and BLM protests, corporations and institutions are opening up their vaults and making materials and intellectual properties more accessible to the public.

I've experienced companies lowering their fees and prices to make things more affordable and accessible. Film production companies and aggregator sites have made many of their films accessible for free in honor of BLM, and many are high-caliber institutions, yet P&G won't budge.

Honestly, P&G could be making many of their entertainment holdings accessible on streaming (not every single episode has popular music) and there are ways to block recording software.

For crying out loud, if Netflix and HBO can put up some of their documentaries and comedies up on their YouTube channels, what makes P&G so precious?! Introducing some of their most popular and compelling storylines to later generations of viewers who aren't as familiar with the Golden Era standards would only boost P&G's credentials. P&G likes to boast about how much of a pioneer they were by bragging about Irna Phillips but they don't actually show us anything but a dry statement posted on their website.

I think Joyce left during the 1981 writer strike..after her scheme was exposed by Lisa.

I do think Joyce/Lisa could have carried into the 80s even if they were in separate stories.

From what I saw of the Dobson's 1st stint at ATWT, they had a good handle on Joyce...she's the type of character the Dobson's could write with their eyes closed.

Oh ok i didnt know that was apart of the writers strike in those days, sucks they couldn't save her lol

Also your absolutely right Lisa and Joyce could have been carried through the 80's maybe even the 90's and there history would have always been something to fall back on.
