Bravo's The Real Housewives of....

See I don't see it as filler. This episode for example had some strides with Peggy continuing to upset the ladies, Meghan showing herself to be more two faced and bitchy and the Vicki/Tamra/Shannon story is building. I feel like each week the stories are building towards several collisions. I'm also very curious what will happen with Kelly bc we know she's going to have a tearful makeup with Shannon later on. This season is very Knots Landing as Andy would say, building and building.

As someone who is currently watching Knot's Landing for the first time ever (I am on the season where Paige has shown up, Olivia is getting into cocaine and Evil Peter is making the moves on her!), I really hope OC builds and builds into some good interactions! Maybe I'm just being too mean and picky today. Sometimes as a soap fan I fall into a trap of being cynical about everything.

OK, I enjoyed the S2 opener -- and I previously vowed never to watch this show again! S1 Dallas was such an odd bird. It didn't seem to fit in the RH pantheon with the farting and dog sh!t stuff. And LeeAnne played up to camera way too much for my liking. Everybody else was just obliterated by her outsize personality.

What I liked about this episode is it LOOKS like a RH show. It LOOKS expensive. Seeing the real estate porn, especially Kameron's house, reminded me of the good old days of BH with the swivelling camerawork of gorgeous interiors and walk-in closets.

IA D'Andra and Kameron are good additions. I liked Kameron a bit more than I did in the teaser. but I hope this pink dog food story doesn't run the whole season. I'm not interested.

D'Andra and her hot hubbie and FABULOUSSSSSSS mother who is seriously channeling some Tammy Faye Bakker are a WIN for me. As someone with a strong mother, I can recognise the dynamics, and it is interesting to watch -- if a little painful at times (like the way D'Andra suddenly turns on her lovely husband and his way of buttering his toast when she sees her mother side-eye it).

Brandi's face looks like it is melting off and revealing the Cabbage Patch Doll underneath. When her highly disinterested husband Bryan showed up to bed and she was lying there like she'd just woken up in full coal-black eyeshadow and fake lashes, I was like

. Last season, Bryan HATED her, and I find his newfound 'love' for her totally fake. I remember reading somewhere a theory that Bryan last season was in love with Travis (Stephanie's husband) and that's why he couldn't stand to touch his wife. Travis was oblivious to this. It makes me view the dynamic between the two couples in a whole new way lol.

I would be for Brandi in this Stephanie-Brandi fight, except that she won't even tell Stephanie what the issue is?? That says to me that she doesn't want to repair the friendship but would rather drag out the fight for the cameras. BYE!

I have always secretly liked Cary for being a full-blown beyotch who BJed her way to being a plastic surgeon's wife when he was already married. She is a shark-eyed gold-digger, but she is also sometimes the voice of reason on this show.

I'm not sure if I miss Tiffany as a full HW, but I did 100% buy her friendship with LeeAnne was ride-or-die.

@Cat, I knew you'd like Dallas' premiere. I had a hard time with it last year, but they actually shocked me last night. I think they are gonna bring it like Potomac did. I just find it refreshing with the new shows b/c it isn't all that toxicity like the other shows.

But back to the show, I think that this season is gonna pan out to be good compared to last year. I think last year flopped (much like Potomac) b/c the show was not intended to be a housewives show. The Dallas show was actually rumored to be a spinoff of Ladies of London. I think rebranding the show at the 11th hour didn't help.

I was trying to figure out who D'Andra's mother reminded me of and it sure is Tammy Faye Bakker!

And D'Andra's hubby is hot. I think Kameron's husband (in a weird) way is handsome too. Might be b/c he's worth so much money why I think that.  But you can tell in the preview next week that she exhausts him with this dog food mess.

Brandi nor Stephanie's marriage don't convince me either. Both of their husbands seem disinterested in them (to me). They only seem to light up when they are together away from their wives. Chillllldddd...

Cary's husband seems to be the only one out of the originals that truly loves her. We aren't even gonna get on Leanne and her beau. It's obvious he wishes he could flee in the opposite direction of her.

Looks like Dallas is still a flop! Season two with a housewives lead in only scored around 800,000 viewers. I will join the chorus and say I enjoyed the premiere and the season does look good, but I still maintain if this show actually represented Dallas it would be more successful. Potomac was able to find its own place after RHOA went off the air and people genuinely enjoy it. There is simply no need for RHOD the way it's presented. This was their time to add some Hispanic housewives or a black housewife. These women all look the same and are very bland. They're going after one demographic that has no reason to watch when they already have superior RHOC, NYC and BH.

You might be onto something. Maybe they should've diversified it a bit more. But I was always under the impression that Houston was more diversified than Dallas.

I like the show as it is harmless and interesting, but I do think that Bravo should've just rebooted Miami again. I don't think that Dallas will ever get above 1 million viewers.

I do find it odd that this show doesn't attract viewers given that it has OC giving them a strong lead in. Maybe b/c it is in the 10:00 EST slot that people aren't tuning in. Hopefully, Bravo will move OC to 8 and Dallas to 9 to possibly gain more viewers.

I don't want this show to be cancelled as I see it has potential.

Ohhh, Dallas was good y'all!  Much better than I was expecting.  It definitely feels like a housewives show this season.  It's giving me a blend of New Jersey (all the flashbacks, receipts, texts, and Leanne has always reminded me of Danielle Staub)... OC (Kameron totally reminds me of a blonde Heather, and Stephanie/Brandi seem like Vicki/Tamra at times with their friendship)....and Atlanta (the southern charm).

Brandi looks rode hard and put up wet... something is going on beyond this Stephanie feud.  Is it drugs, stress, or what?  She's one step away from a breakdown.

Crazy Leanne is back and I love it.

I love the two new housewives - Kameron and D'Andra.  They are great additions and bring a rich, fresh breath of air to this show.  So far, I could watch D'Andra's mom all day long.

I hope the ratings go up, they deserve a new chance.  OC ratings have been down this season, but steady throughout.  NYC was steady throughout and actually matched last year's ratings, which were up from the previous few seasons.  BH ratings have been slightly down the last couple of seasons, but pretty close to OC/NYC.  Potomac clearly took a hit once Atlanta ended, but managed to stay above 1M viewers.  Bravo has been renewing shows that have matched Dallas' numbers, so we'll see... I think the +3 days numbers are also a good indicator, so we'll see how Dallas fairs there.  NYC and OC usually get a big jump on the +3's.

Also - I still think they're representing Dallas fairly.  I live in Austin, but I've lived in Houston and have visited Dallas many, many times.  I have friends all over Texas.  While Dallas does have diversity, they still have a STRONG 'white pretentious' stereotype.  If this were Houston, then I'd have a problem because that city is much more diverse.  Married to Medicine Houston really got their casting right to match the vibe and culture of the city.

So glad I can go back to hating Meghan. I could've sworn she and Vicki made up ages ago but the way she was dogging her this episode it's clear she's still a [!@#$%^&*]. I hate how much Vicki wants to be friends with Shannon and Tamra. I wish she realized if she just made her alliance the fun group with the fun scenes, she'd still get just as much if not more camera time than bitter ass Shannon and Tamra.

I'm glad Peggy seems to be showing more personality now, maybe her pain meds have worn off.

NY:

I feel like I don't have much to say about this show b/c it isn't so toxic, and I don't hate any of the women on the cast. I find NYC to be the most enjoyable show of the US franchises.

I did find it cringeworthy though at the end when they were focused on Luann and her flop marriage to Tom. Luann obviously prefers to be blind to his antics but whatever.

I'm loving the return of Camille IF she's there to make either Kyle or Rinna's life a living hell. If she's there to tangle with LVP, then sit down, Camille. But I did enjoy season 2 Camille when she confronted Taylor so memorably with the "We didn't want to say it, BUT NOW WE'VE SAID IT!"

John Mellencamp's daughter is only 36, so I'm lukewarm about her. She could be another One And Done. We do not need another Eden Sasloon.

I agree in that I enjoy NYC the most out of the American franchises because it is the least toxic, by far, and I don't hate any of the housewives. Though I still think Tinsley is a dud. She was non-existent this episode of the reunion.

Ramona has clearly struggled to mourn her divorce. Which is tragic. She loved being married to Mario. She loved her family. And he destroyed it. It's going to take her a long time to get past it.

I enjoyed the segment on Dorinda being gangsta. She should not be crossed, she is fabulous and fierce.

Jill Zarin is dead to Bethenny. She'll never be back. Bethenny's ire has seen to that.

I would LOVE if Sonja would move into that three bedroom apartment. Do it Sonja, get rid of that damn townhouse!

I felt sad for Luann. She clearly knew something was going on during the filming of the reunion and Tom was clearly on thin ice, if not worse. Luann did not want to admit it was over at the reunion. I don't think she could bear that. The most telling thing was when she mentioned her son, Noel, being protective of her. Luann is obviously close to her children, so it was never going to end well for Tom thanks to Luann's kids. Luann said she'd leave him, and so many of them didn't believe her, yet what did she damn well do but leave his ass! Good for Lu!
