The revolving door of town psychopaths on Guiding Light continues to amaze me about this time. I know both Kit and Ken are one of the most notable ones, but my brain is a bit foggy on Charlotte (A role originated by Victoria Wyndham). The town also seemed to be filled with schemers and masters of manipulations, the most prominent being Holly Norris.

It's unusual to see James Lipton as one of the writers for GL around this time, knowing how miserably he failed on both AW and later on Capitol, and to see that he wrote the show with Robert Cenedella too? GL seemed to be a dumping ground for AW's less talented writers. The show really didn't find a truly good HW until the Dobsomes arrived in the mid 70s. So I'm guessing that after the Dobsome's departed GH, they went straight to GL/P&G?

Yes, the Dobsons moved to GL in 1975 and were replaced at GH briefly by Richard and Suzanne Holland before new GH EP, Tom Donovan could steal Eileen & Robert Mason Pollock from DOC. Cenedella moved to DOC after GL. It must have been his late stint as a HW.

I would love to see some of Kit or Charlotte. I know Victoria and Nancy Addison weren't on at the same time but I'd love to have seen them together, talk about acting paradise.

Charlotte was a real piece of work who drove storylines for years. She came to town pretending to be Dr. Sara Macintyire's niece, but was only using her. After this was exposed, she sank her hooks into Mike Bauer. They married, I think she got pregnant and had a miscarriage. She was mostly interested in being married to a wealthy lawyer. She treated his daughter Hope with open contempt. She was an obstacle to prevent him from getting together with Leslie.

After Mike was finally free of her, she turned her sights to Joe Werner, but this story was her downfall (I guess the show was phasing her out since Wyndham had been gone for several years and Melinda Fee may not have had the same spark -- or maybe the character was just played out). She used Kit Vested in her schemes to get Joe, but she assumed Kit was a meek person. Kit was actually disturbed, and became increasingly insane. She poisoned Charlotte to get her out of the way. I think either Sara or Joe were accused of her murder.
