Because Natalie Minardi Slater and Marla Kanelos are listed everyday, since they're supposedly the Associate Head Writers, and of course Hogan is listed everyday being the Co-Head Writer. It's confusing as hell sometimes though.

We never know who specifically wrote the breakdown for an episode where the breakdown writer isn't credited, unless of course someone has insider info on that.

Still confusing to me since the fact that when AMC used to credit breakdown writers (or, should I say, when AMC had that position to credit) they double-credited sometimes... in the instance of Miss Girl, Amanda L. Beall. She'd be credited among the AHW's even if she wrote the script to someone else's breakdown that day.

It would appear:

Written by

HEAD WRITER

Written by

AHW

AHW

AMANDA L. BEALL

AHW

EDITOR

Written by

BREAKDOWN WRITER

AMANDA L. BEALL

I'm just using that dreaded name as an example because she was the only one who did that double-dipping crap... and it would piss me off, because when I saw her name in the AHW, I'd be like "Oh, good! It's not an Amanda L... :o WHAT THE HELL?!?! "

This is getting too complex. I just say if you're gonna credit... credit. If not, then do what GH and OLTL does and just list the day's script writer. I know for a fact that Guza writes outlines on GH.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but does anyone know if maybe GL is getting some kind of ghost consulting help from a veteran writer?

As much as I am a real supporter of Ellen Wheeler, David Kreizman, and Jill Lorie Hurst, and really have enjoyed their work in the past, I am still somewhat in disbelief that GL is getting *this* amazingly good with the same writing team as ever.

I don't think there's a consultant or anything. I just think they're being allowed to write "soap opera" again. Once the new production model kicked in, they seem shoehorn-ed into writing this daytime version of "The Hills", and clearly it was a story structure they just didn't understand. (Neither did most of their fans either) It seems to me the leash has been taken off, and they're allowed to write soap again (with the usual episodic structure to a soap), and clearly they are more familiar and more comfortable with it.

    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
    • And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
    • I'm not going to watch (because...well...that M-dude...lol) but knowing the history between Henry and Roger, I could see Henry wanting to enable Hart to stay independent of Roger. I could even see it as Henry having the last laugh at Roger. Roger hated "the Henry's" of the world, which basically meant anyone who had money and social prominence. Twice Roger swindled Henry out of a chunk of his fortune, so giving some to Hart, who hates his father, is a form of karma.
    • Ashley and Derek have to go- they really throw off the pace of the show.  Today was the first time I fast-forwarded through their scenes. The writing and acting is just bad for both characters.
    • Jon is stuck in a story that isn't popular but with Cady I feel like the issue is that she was clearly thrown in with no real purpose. I still don't understand why she pops up. I recall early on it being said she owned a spa but we've never seen it. That could've been an interesting location for people to meet. She also could've worked better as Smitty's mom, but instead we get this random agent of Dani's who pops up twice a month? A total waste. I mostly agree. I do feel like Jan could be elevated with a name soap actress, someone like Judi Evans or Kassie DePaiva comes to mind, but they're limited to who is in Atlanta. Keeping that in mind I think the current actress is fine.
    • It's great to see. My thoughts might be a little different, but for the most part, I am excited and interested in most of the storylines. Yeah, you're right. This is probably how she (Dani) normally acts. And, I do not like it!  I agree; this is another distraction while she heals her wounds. If I weren't an Eva fan, she helped me root for her even more. As I said a month ago, I hope they take their time with her modeling agency. I would love to see her face a few obstacles before becoming a huge success.
