Very nice. I don't know if I really want her to be stuck in a VP role (not that it's up to me) but she would make a great AG.

She already turned Obama down for AG so I don’t see that happening. She’s made it clear she’s been there and done that. I’d say either VP or Secretary of State or she’ll stay in the Senate where she’s very effective.

That makes sense. I'd wondered about AG because there's so much garbage to untangle from the last 4 years.

And honestly, I think those are likely the only 2 positions that are prominent enough where (many) folks can actually wrap their mind around the concept of a woman, let alone a black woman being in a presidential leadership position.

This is what Brown supporters were doing in 2012:

At least Bernie supporters are being very open now about their true feelings.

I know if it had ended up that way it would have been incredibly ugly on social media, but I still wish the last two could have been Warren and Harris.

Sad that this would never have been considered a realistic possibility.

So, is Jackson saying that the underlying reason for endorsing Bernie is because Biden didn't ask? Make of this what you will.

I have no reason to doubt Jackson. I don't know how much influence he has anymore but this was a mistake by Biden's team if they did not.  And to be honest, anyone remembering Jackson's run in 1988 knows he's much closer to Sanders on policy. Big difference. Jackson proudly ran as a democrat and won a ton of delegates - including the state of Michigan by the way.

Yeah, that's really sloppy work on the Biden campaign.  As for how much influence Jackson has, I don't know if I could answer that. So many times, it's been said that social media is not real life. So while it likely rings hollow on a great deal of social media where Jackson seems to have little presence, out in the world of retail politics, who knows?

This unlikely to move the needle where anyone under the age of 40 is concerned (which is probably closer to anyone under 45, tbh), we have already seen that many "younger" (under 35) voters haven't really been turning out as some expected.

The real question is will voters over 50 be swayed? Another question that I cannot rightly think to answer since it will be a few more years until I hit that milestone age.

One of the things I was kind of not surprised by was the power of the establishment to force Amy Klobuchar, who had worked so
hard, and Pete Buttigieg, who really worked extremely hard as well, out
of the race. What was very clear from the media narrative and what the
establishment wanted was to make sure that people coalesced around Biden
and try to defeat me.

Incredible

I will give Sanders credit for building some outreach to the Latino community but this is shameful. He's know for 4 years he needed to do more work in the AA community and has done absolutely nothing. He still doesn't realize he cannot and will not win without them. He could have worked to help champion a solution in Flint. The might have gone a long way to establish some level of interest in the community. Skipping Mississippi does not sound like a good plan either.

I have been volunteering on Marie Newman's primary campaign here in Illinois(no she is not a diehard bernie-ite despite his endorsement. Dan Lipinkski is and has been a useless "democratic" congressman for years), and she has a great staff working for her, 2 younger staffers who I have come to know quite well. 1 AA young man and 1 young Latina. 2 of the most idealistic dedicated people I have seen. They were so excited after Bernie's win and so deflated after super Tuesday. These are good people and it just breaks my heart to see so many of these folks used by Sanders, who doesn't really care if he wins or loses.

Biden not reaching out to Jesse Jackson makes sense considering how Anti-Obama he was. He lost lots of respect and support in the black community over that. I don’t think he’s ever fully recovered from that.
