That's nice. I haven't read any DS fan fiction in a while, although I enjoyed some (there was a fun one about Angelique/Cassandra reading a magazine Elizabeth wanted to read, then putting it down only when Elizabeth was no longer interested).

Details are leaking about the upcoming movie...

The storyline opens in 1752. Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy … until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Brouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth's ne'er-do-well brother, Roger Collins (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger's precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis (Jackie Earle Haley), and David's new nanny, Victoria Winters (Bella Heathcote).

Dark Shadows is currently scheduled to open in theaters May 11th, 2012.

I had forgotten that there was a 1991 version. I have never seen that version of the show but saw the opening on WoST. I know that there was suppose to be a 2004 version with Alexis Thrope (ex-Cassie, DAYS) but it never aired. It would have been nice to see a DS series reboot.

I also heard there is suppose to be a comic version of DS: http://www.newsarama...ite-110822.html

Unlike Guiding Light, its more realistic for the soap to be in comic form.

Just curious if anyone has seen the reunion DVDs of Dark Shadows. I saw the 30th and 35th reunions, and they're fun to watch. Alexandra Moltke only appeared at one of these get-togethers, and the years haven't really been kind. Lara Parker and Kathryn Leigh Scott, however, seem to have found the fountain of youth. The stories the cast tells are very funny, and everyone seems to agree that Jonathan Frid NEVER could get his lines straight.
