Opening from season 2 (1991). Members Huntress Posted April 14, 2009 Author Members Share Posted April 14, 2009 It's really interesting to see how "Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden" and "Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten" have developed over the years, considering that both shows had the same scripts and characters during its first 230 episodes. I think I can even recognize several characters in the first 2 Dutch openings because their styling looks so similar to the German characters. I'd also like to know how the original cast members have developed in the Dutch version and how many of them are still with the show. On GZSZ, quite a few original cast members left after one year, and most of the others between 1996 and 1997. Only three (Elisabeth Meinhart, Clemens Richter and A.R. Daniel) are still on contract. She plays Laura Selmhorst (Vera Richter in the German version). The Dutch version of Clemens Richter, Robert Alberts, left the show in the last episode of season 18 (we're in season 19 right now). The Elisabeth Meinhart character was called Helen Helmink over here. They recasted the role once, but the character left years ago. The A.R. Daniel character (Daniel Daniel in the Dutch version) also left a long time ago. One of my all time favorite characters was Martine Hafkamp (Lilo Gottschick in GZSZ). She was the ultimate soap bitch. After a while she left the show but she came back in 2003 (and left again in 2005). She was played by the awesome Inge Ipenburg (it was so great when I had the chance to meet her!). The character did awful things. One of my favorite scenes of her was when she wanted revenge on her daughter's rapist. For some reason they ended up in a meat factory and while they were surrounded by all that dead meat she threatened to cut off his testicles. He became so scared that he wet his pants. Awesome stuff. LOL! I don't know when exactly the Dutch writers started writing their own scripts, but there are still some characters on the show from the first couple of years (like Jef Alberts and Janine Elschot). I do know they decided to write their own storylines when the Australian version of Arnie Alberts (Heiko Richter in GZSZ) was killed off. This character was a huge success over here so they wanted to keep him on the show. Years later the character was killed off anyway (in a plane crash) when the actor decided to leave the show. I love this show. I grew up with it (I'm 20). Season 16, 17 and 18 weren't that great, but the show really improved in season 19. I enjoy almost every storyline now and the two new characters they introduced this season are really entertaining. Especially Maxime Sanders. She's the first female character that could give Martine Hafkamp a run for her money. She's sneaky, manipulative and probably more will be revealed later. And I'm excited for the return of the SORAS'd character Lucas Sanders. Last time we saw him he was 13 years old. He will be the first regular gay character on the show. The show had lesbians and bisexuals as part of their regular cast but never a gay male (even Laura, the Vicky Richter character, had an affair with a woman years ago. Did that also happen in GZSZ?). She moved to Sri Lanka with her adoptive son. On GZSZ, there have been bisexual and gay regulars on the show, male and female. In 1996, Saskia Rother fell in love with her Japanese friend Harumi Shimizu. Before that, Saskia planned to marry Tom Lehmann but he cheated on her with her best friend Milla Engel. Saskia slapped Tom at the altar and Milla ran out of the church in tears. A few months later, Milla and Tom got their happy ending. Harumi also had a one-night-stand with Tom before sleeping with Saskia. Saskia and Harumi finally became a couple but Saskia's father wanted to buy Harumi over and offered her a lot of money if she left Saskia. When Harumi took the money, Saskia witnessed the scene and was devastated. However, Harumi donated the money and reunited with Saskia. The two women then left town and emigrated to the United States. In 1997, Fabian Moreno fell in love with Philip Krüger, a gay DJ. The two were a couple for several months, however, once they broke up, Fabian resumed dating women. After a rather long absence he came back to Berlin, but was sent to prison due to fraud. Philip remained on the show until 2000, but rarely had a storyline. In 2000 he was spun-off to the primetime spin-off "Großstadtträume" which was cancelled after 7 episodes. Also in 2000, Peter Becker, who was involved with Barbara Wiebe-Graf, slept with Lara Kelm. Lara later seduced Barbara, which resulted in Peter and Lara fighting for Barbara. In the end, neither of them won. Lara was written off quickly, while Barbara went crazy and kidnapped Cora and Nico's baby daughter. She was sent to prison and returned in 2002 to kill her sister Sonja, who was primary responsible for Barbara's inprisonment. She did not succeed and fled to South America. Sonja died in an explosion a few weeks later. In 2007, Paula Rapf and Franzi Reuter became a couple even though both had boyfriends at that time. Paula couldn't admit her feelings and rejected Franzi which led to Franzi getting high on cocaine on a regular basis. Eventually Franzi died in a fire in the 4500th episode (June 2008). Paula moved to Canada in early 2009. Robert and Laura went to Venezuela to search for him, but they never found a body. A couple of years ago they did find his body. And that's when the show made one of the biggest mistakes in it's history. It was revealed that Arnie wasn't really Robert and Laura's son. He was switched at birth with their biological son Dennis. Who just happened to be in a relationship (including sex) with Laura. Eeeew! I think the show never should've rewritten that history. Most fans really hated what they did back then. Those characters you mentioned that joined GZSZ in 1993 don't sound familiar to me. Oh, and I just looked at the video's again, but Martine Hafkamp isn't in the opening either. She is in the 2005 opening (she's the one you see in the YouTube still). You might be thinking, "Wow, did the show really recast the role of Nina 17 times? And Lucas 10 times?". Not really. But this cast list came from Wikipedia. Marly van der Velden is the first grown up version of Nina. The role was played by so many different girls when the character was a child is because children are not allowed to work so much that they can use the same child actors. Same thing happened with Lucas. Ferry Doedens isn't on the show yet, he starts filming next month, but he's the first grown up version of the character. Although I think some of these laws have changed because Rik de Jong's daughter Rikki has been played by the same child actress for a couple of years now. Lieke van Lexmond is not really the third Charlie. The role was first played by Aukje van Ginneken, but I believe she had to be replaced a few times due to health issues. First she was replaced by another actress and in 2002 Lieke van Lexmond replaced Aukje temporarily. When Aukje decided to leave, the show asked Lieke to play the part. I think this is one of the most successful recasts. The characters of Sjors Langeveld and Jack van Houten were seen as baby's on the show, but came back after some serious SORAS-ing. Again, these are the first grown-up versions of the characters. Maxime Sanders was a new character in 2008. We've only had one SORAS'd character so far: Claudia Löpelmann gave birth to Jo Gerner's son Felix in 1994. Felix was then adopted by Iris and Michael Gundlach, who named him Dominik. After Iris had died in a car explosion, Claudia and Michael became a couple and left town together. In late 2007, Claudia died off-screen and we met a now grown-up Dominik who came to Berlin in search of his biological father.
