Strangely enough Deniz is paired with Katja on the new opening although Katja has been in a relationship with Deniz's cousin Can for over a year.

Here are videos of the updated GZSZ opening:

And this is the current opening of "Schloss Einstein" (Castle Einstein), a German soap created for children and teenagers that's been on the air since 1998. So far, there have been 18 seasons and 844 episodes. It is set in a boarding school. More in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Einstein

This is the opening of the long-running medical drama "In aller Freundschaft" (In All Friendship) that has also been on the air since 1998. IaF is the highest rated drama series on German television with more than 5 million viewers every week. 18 seasons have been produced so far.

Because of IaF's success, a spin-off called "In aller Freundschaft – Die jungen Ärzte" (In All Friendship – The Young Doctors) was launched in January 2015, also running once a week.

Thanks.

What do you think of those shows?

Link must be popular if they spun him off to another show (he still appears on the parent show?).

The opening of the first hospital show doesn't seem to match the cast at all, with all those lyrics about young love.

Reading the Wiki article it looks like the boarding school show lost their last original cast member last year. Sad. Did they write it into the show?

Link started out on soaps. He played recurring roles on "Marienhof" (2004) and "Unter uns" (2005), was a main cast member on the telenovela "Rote Rosen" from 2006 to 2008, and later starred as the male hero Jonas on the televonela "Anna und die Liebe" from 2008 to 2011. There his character was killed off and eventually returned as a ghost. He joined "In aller Freundschaft" in May 2012 (middle of season 15) and departed in January 2015 (3rd episode of season 18), one week before the spin-off started. Some other characters from the parent show appear in recurring roles on the spin-off. The spin-off is set in a different city.

"In aller Freundschaft" was heavily criticized last year because the producers did not renew the contracts of several older cast members. Dieter Bellmann, Maren Gilzer (who won the latest edition of the German version of "I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here"), Uta Schorn and Jutta Kammann were all let go at the end of season 17 to make room for younger actors.
