If NBC is looking to cancel "Days of our Lives," I think we're going to start seeing news of replacements being ordered like "Guess Who?" https://deadline.com/2021/04/nbc-developing-unscripted-hasbro-board-game-guess-who-endemol-shine-north-america-1234739688/ It's not mentioned whether the network is doing it for primetime or daytime but based on the concept it could work either way.

The Dallas finale stank. The show was way passed it's expiration date by the late 80's. The loss of Victoria Principal as Pamela was the final nail in the coffee. The writers made several mistakes over the years that really drove the show into the ground. A few of my pet peeves were: * Dragging out Jock Ewing's death and having him die in helicopter crash. I think they should of had him die at Southfork with Miss Ellie at his side or finding him. The writers toyed with viewers that Jock was not dead and did that Wes Parmalee storyline. Jim Davis could not be replaced and viewers balked. *Bringing Bobby back from the dead. Patrick screwed up when he insisted they kill him off the show. Then they brought him back when he couldn't find work in a stunt and erased a whole entire season as a dream. The show became a joke and several other shows like Newhart spoofed it. Victoria Principal caught flack for it as well. * The way they wrote Pamela Barnes Ewing out in a explosive car crash. Then had her run away and recast with a look a like just to kill her off. Katherine also showed up and then disappeared never to be seen again. * Killing off Kristen early in the shows run. Kristen could have driven storyline for years. * What was the point of Jenna ? Seriously ? When she returned in 1983 they started that crap again about Bobby possibly being the father of Charlie. Didn't she already admit he was not in 1978 ? Oh, I guess that didn't count since it was Morgan Fairchild's version. * Everything they did with Lucy was a bust. Lucy & Mitch what was the point of that marriage ?

I'd love to know the answer to that too. The rewrite was completely unnecessary, and it was insulting to any viewers who had watched the original storyline play out in 1978. An adopted child has just as much legal right to inheritance (and/or the family business) as a bio-child. So Iris could have played the same beats regarding Cory Publishing, whether she was adopted or bio. There was no logical reason to rewrite her conception to make her Mac's bio-child. -
It was very challenging. I teach two college courses in addition to having a full-time job. So I had something like 55 papers to read and grade while my vision was blurred. Somehow I got the work done.

They're literally reviving and rebooting every highly-rated series with a reasonably long run, except cancelled network soap operas, lol.· 10 replies
