I really tried to see the good thing on Monday's episode, but there just wasn't anything. Sabrina and Victoria keep having the same conversations, so do Nikki and Victor. The only interesting thing was Paul's investigation, but not even that was as entertaining. I want the show to get better. But it isn't getting there.

I can't agree.

I do find the the Fisher-Baldwin tale a little broad...and the romantic flip flops seem more appropriate for a teen storyline. Again, I found CLB is just not "balanced"...I didn't find his dialog worthy of the near-tears he brought to his scenes. On the other hand, Rikaart's mugging over seeing his mother naked...FUN. (But they are not serving Jerry Douglas' Alistair well by making him such a bad guy....there is no long term potential here!).

But I found the gang at Restless Style fun, and I found the little groupings and conversations within amusing...this was like a classic soap "dinner party" or "cocktail party", and it was a hoot for me.

I found the little scenes with Sabrina-Sharon and Sabrina-Victor (where he says what HE would have done) intriguing. Sharon feels linked with Sabrina on outsider status. And Victor could have HELPED, but instead he is roasting his marshmallows over the head of being correct in predicting failure.

I also found Jack chilling when he let Nick get credit...but plotted to have his role known in the future, when the time is right. Conflict is coming.

I also very much liked that Paul is advancing the David Chow plot. That was fun for me.

Finally, I am really enjoying Amelia Heinle (which shocks me) in her scenes with Sabrina and Victor. I totally buy her aloof anger...but her face clearly signals that she loves and misses this couple.

Even Kay joking about being in the wrong "demographic"....

I agree with the problems of the plots on this show...forward momentum is poor, and the show is simply TOO geriatric at this point (most front burners stories feature people in their 50s and 60s...little intergenerational balance). But the individual episodes...priceless!

I'm HATING Y&R...

All I see is a bunch of s-h-i-t going on. There are no consequences, no sinister drama, no emotion, no stirring background music building to a dramatic crescendo...NOTHING.

Still, it's better than LML's 'Y&R' (I put it in quotes because it wasn't Y&R, don't fool yourself otherwise)

Things had better improve...B&B is only half an hour and it's really satisfying. I could see only spending half an hour a day on soaps...

    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
    • And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
    • I'm not going to watch (because...well...that M-dude...lol) but knowing the history between Henry and Roger, I could see Henry wanting to enable Hart to stay independent of Roger. I could even see it as Henry having the last laugh at Roger. Roger hated "the Henry's" of the world, which basically meant anyone who had money and social prominence. Twice Roger swindled Henry out of a chunk of his fortune, so giving some to Hart, who hates his father, is a form of karma.
    • Ashley and Derek have to go- they really throw off the pace of the show.  Today was the first time I fast-forwarded through their scenes. The writing and acting is just bad for both characters.
    • Jon is stuck in a story that isn't popular but with Cady I feel like the issue is that she was clearly thrown in with no real purpose. I still don't understand why she pops up. I recall early on it being said she owned a spa but we've never seen it. That could've been an interesting location for people to meet. She also could've worked better as Smitty's mom, but instead we get this random agent of Dani's who pops up twice a month? A total waste. I mostly agree. I do feel like Jan could be elevated with a name soap actress, someone like Judi Evans or Kassie DePaiva comes to mind, but they're limited to who is in Atlanta. Keeping that in mind I think the current actress is fine.
    • It's great to see. My thoughts might be a little different, but for the most part, I am excited and interested in most of the storylines. Yeah, you're right. This is probably how she (Dani) normally acts. And, I do not like it!  I agree; this is another distraction while she heals her wounds. If I weren't an Eva fan, she helped me root for her even more. As I said a month ago, I hope they take their time with her modeling agency. I would love to see her face a few obstacles before becoming a huge success.
