Can Cane really be serious about wanting to raise a baby with the baby he's dating? Um, they've been a couple for about three months and she's knocked up and already wanting to debate if she should have a child...Lily can't even mature without Neil coming to save the day.... She's inadvertently ruining his relationship with Karen. I just don't see either of them being parents.....and I definitely would rather see Jill doing something more than cooing over Lily whiny baby in scenes, that's for damn sure.

I wonder who's playing who in the Newman clan? Seriously, while Nick, Victoria, and Victor all squabble over mortgages and sleeping around with best friends, I see Adam pulling off the biggest stunt and pulling the rug out from underneath them all... Victor may be all in the driver's seat but while he assumes that he has power, I have a feeling someone unexpected knocking him out and taking control; and I have feeling it's going to be Adam that does the dirty doing.....and sorry, but i don't see Sabrina as merely in love with Victor, there's something up w/that chick....there's always something up when they pair someone with either Victor Newman or Nikki Newman

WORD QUICK KAREN RUN FOR THE HILLS

ITA. I'm still having trouble believing that Adam was working in NYC while Victor was in Europe trying to find him at Hope's request. There most certainly is more to Adam than meets the eye and hopefully TIIC reveals his true colors slowly. As far as Sabrina is concerned it certainly doesn't hurt that Victor is RICH. I for one would like to see her take him down---- even if it's just for a few minutes.

Perhaps Pipsqueak and Sabrina are in cahoots. I always figured something was up between them they way they "hated" each other on sight.

Yesterday's show had Scott Hamner and other remnants of Lynn Marie's krazy krew in the opening credits. Why do these boring writers still have a job? I just assumed they would resign en masse when their skunk-haired troll was dismissed. Seriously, I cannot face any more scenes of everybody congregating at the coffee shop (Nikki and Victor included!) as GC's high-powered CEOs purchase their own skinny lattes and talk about recycling and the environment and how hot Brad is.

If my ears aren't betraying me I believe Jeffrey just said "pig poo" while arguing with Alistair. Now, had this scene been during the Kay Alden era, Jeffrey would have said "you devious, devious man, thieving Gloria's heart, MY Gloria, damn you!!!" There would have been a sense of style to the whole thing. Now we have "pig poo"...

I did crack up when he this morning. That line was straight out of some Dr. Seuss book.

I swear, half the time, I can't tell if these people are bad on purpose or because they don't know any better. At least I know when the actors are being witty or silly on OLTL.

Both variations suck IMO. I hate the extreme theatrics of classic Y&R dialogue, it makes the show less relatable and in the end, comes off as extra campy.

Y&R was never known for its dialogue though, it was its gripping storylines, pay-offs, and shocking cliffhangers that made the show.

GH far trumps the other soaps in the dialogue department. The storyline might suck, but each character has unique "voice" and the dialogue is crisp, fitting, and relatable.

You said what I was thinking. There is something off about Sabrina and Adam. Maybe he's not even Adam.

The only thing I liked about Sabrina telling Victoria is Victoria calling it an affair and Sabrina insisting it was something more and then Victoria asking about love and Sabrina's reaction.

What did Lily work hard at in terms of modeling? Filling in the form to be a contestant?

Sheilaforever, you are SO right! I don't care if Sabrina is the devil in disguise, just as long as Braeden stops doing that smile thing he does everytime he sees Sabrina. Sabrina's OK, but that goat's horny smile just makes it incredibly icky.

I agree. I never thought Y&R had "bad" dialogue.

I love the theatrical dialogue too. :)

Example:

Victor: "One way or another, you're leaving this building. You're no longer working here, I am. The guards will side with me.

Jack: "This ain't Newman Enterprises. You don't call the shots around here."

Victor: "But your father does. Now what do you think your dad is going to say if he finds out that you were escorted out of the building by your own security guards."

Jack: "He'll probably want you thrown out next."

Victor: "When you finally get it through your head, Jack, that I was asked by your sister, a high officer [i think.....he was mumbling] of this company, to help us save this company from going bankrupt. I am here to do that job, whether you like it or not. And I'm going to sit in the chair that you're sitting in right now. I like it, and I want you out of it, and I want me in it.

Jack gets up.

Jack: "You like this chair? You want this chair?"

Jack grabs the chair and throws it, smashing the window.

Jack: "Have a seat, on me."

Total awesomeness.

Love that, here's one of my favorites, circa 1995:

Jill: My God, where do you get your nerve?

Mamie: Me? What about you? Carrying on with another man? In this house, probably sleeping with him in the same bed you sleep with your husband..

Jill: That's it, I'm not listening to another word of this

Mamie: Oh yes you damn well will hear me out! I've had a lot to say to you lady for a long, long time!

Jill: Now you look here!

Mamie: No you look Jill! Long before these nasty little affairs of yours I knew everything about you, Everything, I knew you only wanted John Abbott for his money

Jill: That is a lie!

Mamie: You never really loved him, you only wanted him for what you could get. A fine man like that, being treated like dirt by the likes of you it just makes me sick!

Jill: You go to hell!

Mamie: Oh and what are you going to do now? Go and call Jed or perhaps John Siiiiiilva?

Jill: What?

Mamie: Yes, I overheard the two of you making plans, long before the party.

Jill: Oh so now you're listening in on phone calls!

Mamie: He's a lawyer isn't he Jill? Or perhaps he's servicing you in other ways?

Jill: Why do you dirty mo...

Mamie: Oh you think you're going to HIT ME now I wish you would!

John: Stop It now, both of you! Mamie I would likea word alone with my...Mrs...

Mamie: You mean The Bitch don't you?

John: Thank you Mamie I'll handle it for now.

(Jill is livid, Mamie sashays off)

    • Yes, they are new pictures of him.
    • I would submit to you that she doesn't need any more excuses, not when it comes to Bill. But, I am one fan who thinks Bill isn't done with Dani & also the reverse is so. Those two, IMO, are locked in some kind of toxic but  irresistible vortex. I'm not saying we're going to have scifi. Just the personality kind of vortex. OH!!! Thanks. I don't do Y&R. But I totally understand anger even frustration with Josh.
    • Any chance you could share this episode to the vault? Please.
    • @asafi @yrfan1983 Jennifer Brooks death was September 1977. A recap of it is here
    • a reference to a mystery character on Y&R named "Aristotle Dumas" who has been discussed a zillion times in the past few months but never seen.  Not mad at the character.  Mad at Y&R writer Griffith for the annoyance. Mentioned to point out the annoyances of Y&R in contrast to enthusiasm for BTG.
    • It also seemed like she wanted an excuse to go over Bill's and yell at him.
    • The number 1 rated soap, and no one seems to like it. I don’t remember the last episode I watched. The Damian story was the only thing keeping me watching but I just gave up on the show altogether again.
    • Not all friends are alike though and there should be a counterbalance in some friendships on soaps. Dani has already been all over the place enough and doesn't need an unstable friend.
    • I was finally warming up to Eva but today, that girl, what in the world was she thinking, crawling back to Mama saying she was under a lot of pressure. Pitiful. And, just what did she get for her trouble? Rebuffed, totally. Anastasia, she can go kick rocks. Who needs her & what was she wearing? I'm surprised to learn that some people did not have an appreciation of Dani & then Anita, right after, at Theodore's. I thought they were both right on the money & also sharp, witty.  Ted, of course, is playing at being Impervious Man, which is very funny & he takes it one step further, making all these declarations of his intent to woo Nicole back & win her trust again. I find myself laughing so hard at him & at how he has totally misread his circumstances. He has zero chance but wow he has so much confidence. This I find to be so humorous, possibly unintentionally so.  Edit to add: What does Alexander Dumas have to do with anything? And why are people seeming to be mad at him?
    • They feel like a bad Three's Company parody.
