You might like them. They are firmer and not at all "slimey" like oysters can be. The texture/bite is sort of like a large bean/legume, but a briney, meaty taste. You can get frozen packaged mussels in red or white sauce at the grocery store for less than five bucks. You heat them in a skillet for about 6 min. and they're done.

Seafood can be so sensitive to preparation. I had scallops at Red Lobster once when I was in high school, and they were rubbery as hell. Then a few year later, a date took me to pretty much the most expensive seafood restaurant in town, and WOW what a difference. I was totally impressed, and it takes alot for a restaurant to impress me. I remember I thought the 30$ each for our meals was a FORTUNE (this was like 1989) I guess today that doesn't seem like much! LOL
