December 15, 200619 yr Member I would like to know how many feel like i do that the show should start to focus more on the truly Young and Restless ones of the show. I think it would add so much more interest and excitement to the show if we could see the teens involved in more up-to-date topics. Kids today are experimenting with all types of issues, and we're barely touching the tip of the iceberg. To handle this some of the younger characters could also be aged? What are your thoughts? December 15, 200619 yr Member I'd really rather not see Noah or Abbey aged anytime soon. Especially Noah because I think it looks so silly when soap kids are like 10 years younger than their parents (JR/Dixie anyone?). Honestly, I think the younger set is getting as much airtime as I can handle and I'm not that much older than they are. I think they would really start to grate on my nerves if they were on any more than they are. Especially Lily and Colleen. I do like them, but they are on plenty for my taste.
December 15, 200619 yr Member I don't know if I want alot of storylines with a younger crowd, but I do feel that it would be good to age Noah and Abby, maybe not right now but in the early spring, and summer. I think Noah would be great for some kind of issue facing today's teens, seeing as he has already shown signs of acting out and different things like that. As for Abby I have not thought of anything yet, but I do think it would be interesting. BTW when I say age for me it is early teens not late teens(which is something the soap writers like to do, I would love to see a story based on the young teen age, instead of a more older teen.)
December 15, 200619 yr Member No I think they are talented, but I like the balance that Y&R has now. I say leave it like it is.
December 15, 200619 yr Member Noah and Abby should be allowed to grow up naturally, the parents aren't old enough and it would just look crazy right now. Give them five years at least. As for the teens in general, I love that Y&R is #1 yet it doesn't rely on it's teens. I don't know why these idiots think that loading a show with teens nobody cares about means young viewers will watch. Especially when the teens are walking cliches. Y&R has created a great bunch of young characters who interact well with each other and the vets. I like the way they're handled.
December 15, 200619 yr Author Member Well we miss out on so many issues that are relevant today. Maybe i'm missing it cause they would rush thru the topics. I could learn from issues being addressed such as eating diorders, Aids/vd's, drug addictions/interventions, teen pregnancies ,which could then be resolved, with an adoption to keep the character pure. I just think the usual problems/older characters are being re-hashed and maybe that's why some think the show is boring. There seem to be so many ways to spice things up in a big way, and i can only see it being done with the younger crowd.

And I say no way for more screen time for the younger crowd. They have a good mix now, and I don't even like Lily and Devon. Noah and Abby should be left alone to grow up on the show since both actors have some promising talent.
December 16, 200619 yr Member The only teen I find interesting right now is Daniel. I can do without the two airheaded twits (Colleen and Lilly). If they could find a sweet love interest for Devon then perhaps I could become more interested in him. I say leave Abby and Noah alone for now. I like that we were able to see Camryn Grimes grow up on the show and I would love to see Darcy stick around for many years. She's a great little actress and a wonderful addition to the show.
