Gabe, are you saying if ED was willing to take a paycut...they would/could use her for longer? Or does Hogan only want her for a short stint as a prop for EJ?

I agree, Eileen back even for one day would make me deliriously happy, but she just has to come back for a much longer run! I don't see how DAYS couldn't afford her, with all the cuts lately (and I'm sure there are more to come too). I'm gonna be pissed if she comes back, and it's only for a month or so (although I'll still be happy with what I can get).

If there was any time to join a primetime show, it should be now. Especially since there are so many older actors now in primetime.

Maybe FOX News is doing such an excellent write-up of her so they can score her for a MyNetworkTV telenovela(they've already gotten the hint that they need to cater to daytime fans...Clive Robertson in WICKED WICKED GAMES, Alicia Leigh Willis in THE HEIRESS).

I think she should go to Desperate Housewives... that's about the only show I would actually want her on. If she does go to primetime I *may* make an effort to watch the show but DAYS should be her home and it seems likely...

The show (According to Corday and Hogan) is not interested in short runs, that is why this recent Stefano return ended up not being with Joseph Mascolo. They are not doing things for stunts...

I like it better that way and a 2007 return for both seems likely... DAYS tried the return without a story thing and got burned for it bigtime in 05-06. The only way it would actually work if it is done like GH does them for big storylines but that requires effort, something JER didn't put, and I think that's why Hogan doesn't want to do it that way.

Oh I get that the ratings are down a bit and I see what you are saying. I know every little bit counts but the ratings are not down by much from where they were and Corday admitted the transition was very hard for Hogan and that he is just starting to find his footing. Judging by the SOD article, it seems Corday and Hogan were well aware of the backlash to Hogan's writing thus far so I am sure they expect better numbers now with the couples coming together and stories finally heating up. Hopefully, the ratings will start improving now.

I know they will have to pay top dollar but with all the cuts and more on the way one would think they would have enough. I worry that Hogan may be lost as far as writing her too but she does seem like the type of character he would write for and he does his research so I have no doubt he will be at least true to character with her.

We'll see. I will agree that Days seems indecisive about everything lately. I mean we learned RJ and SR were out and now they really aren't totally. It seems like the ED news tempted them and now they are straying from their original plan and wondering where to go and what to do. It definitely seems like a lot of upheaval.

I'd like to see Eileen go to AMC as a recast Liza Colby.

I love and miss Marcy Walker, but it's clear she's not coming back. It's just not feasible that Liza wouldn't come after Colby. ED has never been on an East Coast soap, and even though AMC is cutting costs everywhere, Liza could come back for a limited time. What if we found out Liza's brain tumor is back, and that's why she came back to Pine Valley for closure with Colby, Adam, Tad, Marian...I think ED would be a great Liza and would play off of Knight, Canary, etc. very well.

Just a pipe dream, I know. BUT it'd also kind of fun for AMC to take one of Y&R castoffs since Y&R just snapped up Vincent Irizzary!

AMEN Days is missing a good rivalry with Kae and Marlena. Hell Marlena should be out to get Kte just for what she has done to Sami. I also think they are equal enough to go at it. Res assued I wif I was writing I would have tese two Divas goings at it.

Just the reaction alone that Kristen is alive and well will be priceless. Marlena needs a rivalry again, since the show continues to waste an oppurtunity with a Kate vs Marlena rivalry. They should not be anywhere near friends these days.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: There is NO. WAY. ED is not coming back to DAYS in the near future. If it doesn't happen, it might very well be the biggest disappointment ever (at least for me, personally).

You're right. I don't think the budget is there for long-term big returns, so they're having to go the 'temporary' route.

Then I really don't understand what all the cuts they're still making are all about if after all of that, the show STILL can't afford ED or JM for the long term. Even if she's only back for a short stint, I'll be beyond happy, but I WANT EILEEN DAVIDSON BACK AS KRISTEN PERMANENTLY!!!

I thought it came across like that too, but several conflicting interviews came out afterwords. At first it seemed like Hogan wanted Stefano back short term and Jo didn't and then later it seemed like Corday did and Jo didn't. But the latest interview explains it all and speaks for both Hogan and Corday, they don't want to bring Stefano without a full blown story for just two episodes. Jo said he is definitely not coming back briefly, he wants a story.

I don't think this is going to change plans though, they've made him alive for a reason and Corday specifically said that in his interview. Otherwise, they'd keep him dead. Also Corday said his return is possible in 2007.

I also agree, I'll take Kristen over Stefano ANYTIME. And all lead divas need competition, Marlena has sorely been lacking one.
