November Sweeps: Rate How the Soaps Did

So November sweeps is over. Rate how you think your show or shows did.

I watched some of every show during sweeps so will give a grade to all.

AMC - B - the JR stuff really was dramatic for me; great acting; and Vincent Irizarry was just wonderful

ATWT - D - only Craig made the month enjoyable for me; even for me the show was boring most of the month

B&B - A - the month was very campy, but very exciting all month, and then the last week with the Forresters selling Forrester, and the Stephanie story kicking up, it has been great

Days - C - the show has been lots better from day to day, but most of the stories have been for me very boring with not much movement at all. They have been just like ATWT filled with some great moments but nothing to make you stay glued to the screen. They got lots better in the shows I watched toward the end of the month, but the first half of the month was snoozing for me

GH - B - the Luke and Laura stuff was fantastic; and even the mob excitement was enjoyable; loved Julia's cancer stuff, and the revenge plot with her and Ric; but much of the execution of the Luke & Laura story is what pulls them down to a B - the story was more about Luke & Tracy than Luke and Laura

GL - B+ - GL has been on a roll for November. They didn't really have any big exciting events or returns, and their shows were filled with lots of little moments, but they were able to sell them. They finished the Reva story with some great acting and family/friends moments. And had the best cliffhanger of the month, and maybe even the year when everyone felt sure Reva died.

OLTL - F - sorry I watched about 10 episodes or parts of them. They just didn't do anything for me this month. I was not excited by the John McBain story at all. And the Dorian/Adriana feud is a borefest. The girl who plays Adriana can't act her way out of a paperbag, and in fights with Dorian she looks so wimpy. And the underwear thing should be right up my alley for a story, but it was boring. And as much as I love JPL the day they let him model the boxerbriefs those were the ugliest bb's I had ever seen. The wedding was nothing great. The best thing they had going for them was the Cole/Starr story but it wasn't anything great either.

Passions - C - there were alot of days that I enjoyed Passions alot more than any of my shows, but Passions went way down when they failed to deliver on the Theresa/Ethan secret.

Y&R - B - The show was not great this month, but they held my attention all month, and did it with quality and great acting. The Carmen murder story is not the best story ever in daytime, but it involves much of the cast, and esp. puts the Winters family in a front-burner story and I like that. I love the Victor/Jack stuff, and the Jack/Ji Min stuff too. Am really loving the Katherine story, and am looking so forward to it playing out more.

I think as far as networks all have done a little better about using sweeps to set up upcoming stories, but I think CBSdid it better than ABC or NBC (IMO). Esp. B&B with the Stephanie story that will bring them alot of attention in December. I think AMC will probably get lots of attention too with the stalker story, but we will see. And the Zarf story too.

I can only rate three

ATWT- F (no explanation needed I think everyone knows how I feel)

B&B- A (this show is know my favorite show right now, I love Stephanie's storyline, and I love the new fresh ideas that are on the show right now)

Y&R: C- (It was ok, though the storylines are running in so many circles I don't understand what is going on right now.)

Wow, PSNS had a Nov Sweeps? I am completely oblivious to this. Surely we are not speaking about the same show. The PSNS I saw sucked ass. Did u see a sweeps KR? Why, no I don't think you did.

Days B- - It gets a B- because I feel all this sweeps period really was was clean up time, it was still GREAT, but I cannot give it an A because Hogan hasn't started his stories that much yet and like I said it was just cleaning up JER's messes.

Passions C- - It would have gotten a B or C+ if it had mabye revealed the Tabloid and Little Ethan's paternity, hey, that might have eaten acheived an B+ for Passions but since they backed down on both of those I have to give it the middle grade, because it did do good with bringing Charity back and bringing Grace back, therefore it gets some points.

OLTL F - I am with Steve on this grade, OLTL was horrible this sweeps period, I kind of like the Marty/Todd/Blair stuff but other than that everything was horrible. Most of what impacts on this is that OLTL was filled with newbies this sweeps period and we never got to see that much interesting stuff with the vets like Viki. I am so sick of this Rex/Adrianna relationship and am shocked that Adrianna is the great Dorian Lord's daughter. The Tommy story just stunk, period.

AMC- I will be fair and not give this soap a grade since I quit watching it, but reading all the daily threads, spoilers, etc. I want to give it an F. It sounds like it was terrible.

GH A- - Bringing back Laura was what got GH to this grade, they were magical this month and I loved them and cried as Laura left, however the mob story brought GH down to an A-

Y&R B - Okay, it wasn't fantastic, but deserves this grade IMO. I am not a big fan of this whole Carmen storyline, but it is interesting. They featrued Ashley a bit more which I like, but there were certain things that just ruined the sweeps for me, which the majority is the Carmen story. That story brought it up but brought it down at the same time, there are some qualities I like about it and some qualities I don't.

ATWT D - Once again I agree with Steve, this was indeed a very boring sweeps period. I watch ATWT but not regularly like I used to, but I watched it most of this month and just wasn't interested.

I liked GL this month, but didn't manage to watch it enough to give it a grade. Same goes for B&B, but what I did see on both shows I liked.

DAYS: B (Victor/Belle/Philip storyline is rocking. I'm also loving Lumi and EJ this month. The show is a bit slow right now but it's still entertaining me)

ATWT: D (The show is beyond boring right now. I've taken craps more interesting then Gwen & Will. The Meg/Paul/Emily stuff is too much. The only interesting thing was Dusty & Craig)

Y&R: C+ (It's okay. I'm loving the Winters and Katharine/Jill. Phyllis & Nick are great too but the rest is rather boring)

PSSN: C (Meh. I like evil Sheridan and Lucy but the rest is just blah. Don't care for the Migual/Kay/Charity/Fox storyline. Theresa/Ethan/Gwen is beyond boring. I did like the Theresa/Whitney/Rebecca/Gwen chasing the guy around the hotel.)

AMC-D (watched a bit and was crap)

ATWT-D (boring and I hate nuCraig)

B&B-C (has it's good days and bad days but nothing special)

Days-B- (month started slow but the end of the month things got better and the day to day episodes were much better. Show was in cleanup mode for the most part still but some good supercouple moments and the Victor story was excellent)

GH- B+ (hate to say it but they delivered. Would've gotten an A if not for the mob crap and the bad L&L wedding)

GL-B+ (The Reva stuff was good but the rest was off and on with me otherwise would've gotten an A from me)

OLTL-D (Too much John crap and everything else was boring)

Passions-F (started out with potential after Ivy's exposure but failed to deliver the tabloid reveal or any payoff whatsoever. Became worse and worse as the month went on. Even Jaresa and Lucy can't save this show)

Y&R-C (boring as hell but still better then alot of shows. Too much Carmen crap and stuff that I could care less about).

No show really had a mind blowing sweeps but I think GH and GL had the most momentum and sort of delivered sweeps quality stuff. I think Days and Y&R were right behind them as they had solid stuff but not sweeps-worthy so to rank them:

GH

GL

Days (a little better then Y&R)

Y&R

B&B

ATWT

OLTL

Passions (not by much)

AMC

I only watched GH and I give it a A-. It was pretty solid the entire month. Only thing I hated was Sonny but other than that, I loved it all

Days -- C+ -- character interactions are up and developing personalities is slowly becoming a focus again, though execution was hit-or-miss. Plots seemed a little aimless, and some devices a little silly. While dialogue has improved, it's still lacking a little bit of realism and subtext for me. Some of the mess I can clearly attribute to Reilly's mess, some has me scratching my head. Willow didn't help, must be said.

Y&R -- B -- It was a more or less commendably executed, if not amazingly wow, murder storyline, and the actors are clearly dedicated to quality. I know long time fans have a lot to say about the state of their show, but from my standpoint, Y&R does so many things intelligently.

GH -- B- -- Genie made it special but the storyline at the same time was clearly flawed, and I'm still not sure what the significance was for the overall Luke and Laura love story. Spencer family scenes were nice to see though. I even thought Carly/Sonny/Jax were okay, the only character I didn't really enjoy at all was Jason. Alexis and Ric are well acted, Scrubs cute. Something about GH's production helps cover up some of the flaws for me.

DAYS - B: There was nothing outstanding for sweeps, but overall, I thought the show was good and consistent. I'm loving DAYS for the most part right now, even if the plots are moving slower than I'd like them to.

GL - B- : Probably the best GL has been all year. The conclusion to Reva's cancer was well done. The blogger reveal didn't hurt either. There just seemed to be movement for the first time in a while.

ATWT - D: Dull as hell is right. NOTHING happened. Oh, wait, Craig's shooting, nevermind. ONE thing happened. I must have been sleeping when that happened...

PSNS - D: Could have been so much better this sweeps period, but of course, as always is the case with PSNS, the potential always goes untapped. Sadly though, I have to admit to taping PSNS more than ATWT this month.

ATWT: D-

I'm completely done with this show. I can't even watch an entire episode anymore. The only scenes I enjoyed were the scenes Simon & Katie actually talked..then they had sex and it went to hell from there.

GL: A-

Almost every show has managed to keep me interested. There is better balance. I really enjoy the different character interactions and like how everyone's POVs are shown. Great fallout to the reveal of Reva's cancer and they had the best disastrous Thanksgiving ever. The show has managed to give me a laugh (and in a good way!) everyday for the last week.

Days D.

I really think it earned an F but will be lenient. There was nothing sweeps worthy at all in November.
