What's the N/P site?

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing it's probably the most popular Nick/Phyllis website.

Y&R had to try something new at some point. It may be the number 1 soap, but its ratings erosion has been worse than anybody else's. It went from above 7.0 in the late 90s to the 4s now.... other soaps have gone from low 4s to high 2s.

What ChrisB has said before is correct. Smith became the show's EP just as LML is the show's EP now. Which is the crux of the matter.

Now the network, CBS, is taken a interest in and taking more control of The Young and the Restless more and more. Along with all of this come people who have no experience in the creative details of making a soap opera on a daily basis. Network executives, focus groups, and the like can create a special kind of havoc all their own making the show very much different that what it was or what it should be. What was the same, in this respect, for Alden and for Smith shall be the same for Latham as well. CBS will expect a certain kind of performance from her. Or she shall be replaced too.

The network has given Latham a fair amount of space to create the type of team she wants around her, which with all the commotion that has gone on these past few months at Y&R, is somewhat obvious. But her lack of knowledge about the show's history and what about Bill Bell may have wanted for his show is very troublesome. The on screen product is kind of awkward and unconvincing to look at these days

You know I, too , would love to see what is happening on the Y&R set these days. I am sure the backstage goings-on there is far more exciting than the show on screen is right now.
