ALL: SO Many Deaths this year

This past year we lost legacy characters such as Tony (GH), Jenn (ATWT) and tragically Benjamin Hendrickson (ATWT), Zack (DAYS), John (Y&R), Darla (B&B), and Ross (GL) :( If I'm missing anybody else feel free to add it in. It all started with Cassie's death on Y&R in 2005...and then daytime followed suit. Should be interesting come emmy time though, seeing which soap would submit wisely. But I guess death was officially the trend this year in daytime, which sucks.

In 2003, GH lost Summer & Stefan. Stavros in 2002 (I believe)

GH also lost Zander, Cameron and Lila <---which was EXTREMELY emotional) in 2004

OLTL lost Ben a few years ago (I forget what year)

GH lost AJ (a legacy character), Rachel, Dr. Whathisname (who was working with AJ), Michael (or so we thought), Faith and Reese in 2005.

The last prominent person that died on AMC was I think Phoebe in 2005 ( I think that's when they did her funeral).

It just felt that soon after it became the IT thing in daytime, and daytime is known to be repetitive.

Lila <---which was EXTREMELY emotional) in 2004

That was one of the SADDEST deaths ever. I still remember the magnificent Jane Elliot and how her castmates robbed her of a pre-nom that year. Although the story that followed sucked, the entire death stuff was done brillantly. Anybody got clips of that?

Death definately was the trend this year and I didn't enjoy it at all!

I'd say that for 2005, the trend was psychos. We had:

Margaret (OLTL)

Jan (Jan-April) (DAYS)

Alex/Lois (DAYS)

Jonathon (AMC)

Janet (AMC)

Helena (GH)

Carly (GH)

Sheila (Y&R)

....I loved every minute of it!

On Passions, we lost Beth, Alistair, and Marty. :(

It's ridiculous how quickly GH just kills characters.

Yeah, that IS sad (considering Beth makes PSSNS worth watching for me), but at the same time you KNOW they'll all be back.

Stavros 'died' in 2001 (at least that's assumed, although I want him back. RKK was great as Stavros and is greatly missed)
