I watched half of Friday Night Lights, but couldnt resist the playoffs. I liked what I saw, but the camera work was sorta like AMC. The scenes would cut back and forth really quick(way too choppy for me) and was too shaky for me. I know this sounds picky, but I won't continue to watch it with camera work like that.

And Kev is right, with the baseball playoffs the shows needs to be be on hold for a little bit.

Well first off - AMC is NOT this bad with their camera-work. This was a little too much for me - the camera was never still and the chops were way too often.

With the camera stuff aside - it was alright. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Since the last half hour was the football game - I'd assume you'd have to be a football fan to even get into this show. I'm hoping not every week there is a game.

I'll give it another week - bc I want to see what happened to the quarterback - which is being played by SCOTT PORTER ;) He is soooo hot. Remember when he was the temporary Casey on ATWT last spring? :)

Actually, you don't have to be a football fan to enjoy the show. You don't need to know a single thing about football to enjoy the show. The show is first and foremost about the players and the coach and their families.

Also, there won't be a game every week, to allow for the series to go until May (*crosses fingers*).

Regarding the camera work, AMC's camera is just grainy and cheap and not even intentional. For FNL, the producers are going for the documentary feel, with the quick cuts to try and capture the wide range of emotions.

:)

I agree, Days, this is more of a family show than just a 'football' show. I absolutely hate NOTHING more in this world than football and was DYING to see this show. But, sigh, I had to work straight through the premiere until the early hours of the morning. And it sucks, too, because I just KNOW that this is probably THE most quality show from just ONE clip in the promos. YES, I said ONE clip. When the grandmother (or whoever) says, "Yooooooooooou, I adore." It was SUCH a Southern thing and it was SUCH a well written 'human' thing and it just let you KNOW that this is a quality show.

Well, that and Kyle Chandler, whose hit "Early Edition" was also a family friendly show that was well written.

It MUST be a hit. And NBC BETTER make it one.

This show DESERVES it.
