    Port Charles Returns!!

PORT CHARLES RETURNS TO THE AIRWAVES After almost a 3 month hiatus, Port Charles is returning to the air! The show will not pick up where it last left off, instead, time will fast forward 3 months into the future. What happened over the past 3 months will be revealed through a series of flashbacks and standalone episodes that many are already familiar with called "ICU". Did Carly and her unborn twins survive the car accident? Did Nikolas and Jason tear each other apart after blaming the other for what happened to Carly? Did Lucas and his new crush Dante seal the deal? Has Maxie confessed her role in the death of Lucas' boyfriend? Has the second generation of the Spencer/Baldwin feud began between Lulu and Serena? There's so much more to come. <HR>
  2. Third Edition - December 6, 2007 Welcome to the third edition of the Port Charles Chronicles. A weekly look into the lives of the families in Port Charles. We, Ryan Chandler, Jennifer Snyder and Tishy Smith are here to answer any questions that you may have regarding Port Charles. We want to thank you all for your comments and questions and please feel free to direct questions our way. <HR> CARLY AND HER TWINS ARE IN DANGER Nikolas watched in horror as his pregnant fiancée is run off the PC Connector Bridge. The outcome will have lasting consequences on the couple, as well as the entire canvas. "Nikolas was on the phone with Carly, who's driving to Wyndemere at the request of him, when something goes wrong with her car," sets up Tyler Christopher (Nikolas). "Apparently her breaks were cut and she's run off the bridge by a black sedan." Nikolas can see the bridge from Spoon Island and watches as his love crashes into the water. Nikolas freaks out as he's not only worried about Carly, but his unborn children as well. "Carly is thrown from the vehicle and will suffer some serious internal injuries that affect the lives of her twins," shares Tyler. "It's set up pretty well. The writers have done a good job of making sure this story plays out well." Meanwhile, the doctors who are attending Robin & Patrick's pregnancy party are called to work (David for Alan and Steven, Kelly and Elizabeth for Carly). News of Carly's accident begins spreading through town and will eventually get back to Sonny and Jason. Jason's at the hospital when he learns of Carly's accident and immediately goes into blame mode. "Jason blames Nikolas for Carly's accident," previews Steve Burton (Jason). "If Nikolas hadn't pressured her into driving, none of this would have happened, at least in Jason's mind." Nikolas & Jason almost get into a fight, but it's broken up when Dr. Kelly Lee (played by Minae Noji) comes to Nikolas with bad news. Carly's slipping in and out of consciousness since being rescued. Complaints of pain in her uterus and contractions cause Dr. Kelly to examine Carly. Afterwards, it is revealed that Carly has a placental abruption. Things go from bad to worse and Nikolas is faced with a tough decision. "Nikolas is asked to make a decision no man should ever have to make. Carly's going into shock and as more time slips by, both she and the babies are at risk. Who does Nikolas save? The love of his life? Or his children" previews EP/HW Ryan Chandler. The decision isn't going to be easy for Nikolas. "It's an impossible situation to be in, but I believe we handled it well. The fallout from this story will be massive. Not only will it wrap up some of the stories we have going on, but it will kick off huge stories for the new year." <HR> CASTING ROUNDUP GOING: Maurice Bernard (Sonny Corinthos) - "Sonny makes a bold move against the man he holds responsible for Carly's accident," previews Maurice Bernard. This incident completely pushes an already fragile Sonny over the edge. Look for Sonny to be off canvas for most of the upcoming year. "Maurice Bernard will continue to be a part of Port Charles in a recurring capacity," says Tishy Smith. An exit interview will be posted with the actor next week. Ted King (Lorenzo Alcazar) - The rival mob boss escapes from police custody after a final scene with Anna (Finola Hughes). The actor will make sporadic appearances in 2008. Josh Casaubon (Blake Barrington) Josh asked to be released from his contract. "There was another opportunity that he couldn't pass up. We, as a team, couldn't stand in Josh's way. We appreciate all his work and wish him well in all his endeavors. Says HW Tishy Smith. Casuabon last aired on the Thanksgiving episode. Kiko Ellsworth (Stan Johnson) - Stan leaves town to make more out of his life. He shares a nice goodbye with Lainey (Kent King) and his mother Epiphany (Sonya Eddy). Jean-Paul Lavoisier (Dillon Quartermaine) - As rumored in the first edition of the Chronicles, there was one young actor who was ready to leave the show after feeling the character ran it's course. Unfortunately, JP chose to leave before the show finished writing his new storyline. The role will be recast. Scott Bailey (Hunter Halloway) - The character leaves town after the fear of god is put into him. COMING: Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) - Robert literally dropped in from the sky during Robin & Patrick's party. Robert will be around for the forseeable future as a recurring character. Look for a big story to begin in 2008 involving his character. Kristina Wagner ("Felicia Jones") - With Felicia's name being dropped by multiple characters, it's only natural to assume she'd return. Kristina has agreed to return to PC for a handful of episodes beginning this month. Maxie is going to need her mother in a big way soon. Jeff Branson (Blake Barrington) - Jeff is now available for the role of Blake Barrington. The writers have admired his work on "All My Children" and wanted him for this role from the beginning. Now that he is available, the show eagerly snatched him up. His first airdate was yesterday. Michael Cassidy (Dillon Quartermaine) - Most known for his role on "The O.C." as Zach Stevens and "Cliff Wiatt" on "Hidden Palms," the actor has signed a 6 month deal with PC. The writers wanted to see how audience reception was to his new storyline before offering a long-term deal. He can currently be seen on "Smallville" as Grant Gabriel. Tom Welling (Laurence Gabriel) - This role was created specially for Tom Welling. Ryan Chandler says, "The story of Laurence Gabriel is a closely guarded secret. I will say this though, Tom Welling is perfect for this role." Tom Welling, a former model is best known for his work in the CW television show "Smallville" and the "Cheaper By the Dozen" movies. Nikki Reed ("Cassandra") - The "Thirteen" star/writer and "The O.C." actress Nikki Reed has won the role of Cassandra. Cassandra will premiere on the same date as Trey. Many actresses tried out for the role however it was clear from the beginning that Nikki Reed has exactly what it takes to be Cassandra. No other information will be given out at this time. STATUS CHANGE: Kristen Alderson ("Kristina Davis Corinthos") - The young actress has been bumped to recurring. Originally Kristina was to be written out, but after negotiation, it was decided to work around the actress' school schedule. Wally Kurth ("Ned Ashton") - Wally asked to be let out of his contract so he could take time off to tour. Wally will tape as his schedule permits. Before he left, the actor pitched a return story that will benefit the show greatly. Look for Ned to make frequent out of town trips. <HR> BLIND ITEMS DONE DEAL?: Show executives are close to finalizing a deal that would bring a major primetime star to the show was a lead villain. The actor currently stars on a very popular cable show and is a former daytime actor. Look for him to be connected to big players in town. RETURNING?: Could a character thought to be dead return? If the executive producers have their way, this actor will return sure enough. The holdup? He's currently on contract with another soap opera...and it doesn't seem like he's willing to leave. Sources say the character won't return unless they can get this actor in the role. BIG STORY FOR 08: We're hearing that a big story has been planned for 2008 that will bring back many fan favorites throughout the course of the year, in short-term roles. All of this will culminate in a big reveal. We're hearing the show's theme for 2008 is "Question Everything, Believe Nothing". Hmmm....... Turns out that internet leak about big names departing GH is true (see above goings). QUESTIONS There is no Q&A section for this week due to the amount of news we had. To submit questions, please PM Ryan and/or Tishy. <HR> PREVIEWS - Robert explains why he came back to Port Charles - The doctors get emergency pages - Nikolas scrambles to get Carly help - Word spreads of Carly's accident - Sonny worst fears have come true - Anna exploits the vulnerability in Sonny's organization - The Quartermaines celebrate Alan waking from his coma - Jason & Nikolas play the blame game - Nikolas is asked to make an impossible decision
  3. Second Edition - October 28, 2007 Welcome to the Second week of the Port Charles Chronicles. A weekly look into the lives of the families in Port Charles. We, Ryan Chandler, Jennifer Snyder and Tishy Smith are here to answer any questions that you may have regarding Port Charles. We want to thank you all for your comments and questions and please feel free to direct questions our way. <HR> CASTING ROUNDUP GOING: JUSTIN BRUENING (Lucas Jones) - After a great run that earned him a win for Outstanding Younger Character, Justin Bruening has decided to exit Port Charles. "Justin has been a wonderful addition to the cast and though I wish we could have kept him, it's been great being able to write for such a complex character," says Head writer Tishy Smith. Bruening joined the cast of Port Charles last October. Though he originally signed a 6 month deal, the writers were so impressed by his work, the two were able to broker a deal to get him to stay. "We have loved his work here and he has done a wonderful job. He wants to move on and try his hand in other endeavors. He will be greatly missed" said Ryan Chandler. An interview has been scheduled for next week. COMING: CHACE CRAWFORD (Lucas Jones) - With the departure of Justin Bruening approaching, PC execs began looking for a replacement with the blessing of Justin Bruening. After a long search, execs came to an agreement with actor Chace Crawford. Crawford currently stars in Gossip Girl. The writers took notice to the 22 year old Chace after seeing him in the movie "The Covenant," and kept him in mind for a future role. With a huge story coming up, he couldn't turn it down. "We are so excited for Chace to come aboard and I know he can jump right into the huge story we have planned for him," HW/EP Ryan Chandler told us. Chace first airs next Monday. KIN SHRINER (Scott Baldwin) - Scott is coming home! With daughter Serena's storyline increasing, she will need her father. Look for the Spencers and the Baldwins to immediately rekindle their feud. "It's good to be home. Port Charles will always be home to me and I love the storyline that the writers have in store for Scotty." Shriner states. Look for Lucy to make contact with Scotty this week. <HR> BLIND ITEMS EXIT RIGHT PART 2? - To update what we brought to you last week, there have been a LOT of closed door meetings in the Executive Offices that have gone well into the midnight hours. Rumor has it that there will be major cast shakeups. No one, even long time vets are safe. Cast members who never had to worry before are now beginning to worry. Why is this happening? Might it be the swarm of actors and actresses of all ages coming in and out of the offices with their agents? A very big storyline seems to be in the works.... <HR> QUESTIONS Q: It looks like that with Bobbie turning herself in, she'll be doing some jail time. But what about Maxie? Isn't Maxie just as responsible for Brandon's death as Bobbie? Bobbie was drunk and drove the car that killed Brandon. Maxie drugged Lucas' & Dillon's drink, causing their residual feelings to come to the surface and set it up so Brandon would see it. While what Maxie did is unethical, she did not cause anyone to die. However, Maxie definitely has been feeling guilty for her role in his death and without giving too much away, it will be addressed. Q: Why is Lucas so harsh on Bobbie? Bobbie never accepted the fact that Lucas was gay. She went out of her way to try to prove he wasn't. When Lucas began his relationship with Brandon, she never addressed Brandon by name. She was ashamed of her son and he knew it. Lucas was very hurt and now to find out that his mother has lied and betrayed him yet again, well this could be the final betrayal. We know that some weren't very happy with the way Lucas reacted after learning the truth, but we ask that you bear with us as we further along the story. There is a process that Lucas will have to go through. Q: Will we see the Cassadines more in the future? Now that Sam and Lucky are together, will the writers utilize the Cassadine/Spencer history? You better believe we will be capitalizing on the Cassadine and Spencer history! Luke is not happy that his son is involved with a Cassadine to say the least. We will be expanding on this story in a big way. Helena is not done with the Spencers by a long shot. Expect to see more of her evil ways in the upcoming months. Q. What made you and Tishy come together as a team? Tishy: Ryan has this blog which eventually Jen joined as the Executive Producer. Tishy had her own GH inspired blog as well. Over time, the two of us realized a lot of our stories were very much alike. There were several stories that we each changed. "When work got too busy and I had to take at least a six week hiatus from writing my blog, Ryan asked me to think about joining his team. Of course I said yes once my work responsibilities were complete. And I have loved it ever since." Ryan: Pretty much what Tishy said. I loved the way she wrote and it seemed as if we were always writing the same thing, lol. She has a lot of great ideas and is a great person to work with. I wouldn't have been able to imagine these last couple of months without her. She's awesome. Q: Do you have a theme for your blog? The Past Will Set You Free.... <HR> PREVIEWS - Emily goes off in a tirade on Monica & Kevin - Michael turns down Nikolas' offer to throw a Halloween party at Wyndemere for him - Anna and Mac square off over her ability to do her job - Skye resists the urge to fall off the wagon - Robin gets an unexpected call - David charms Lucy to his bed - Skye turns to an old friend - Anna comes across evidence that may clear Lorenzo - Sonny has an ominous dream - Palmer tries to intimidate Alexis
  4. First Edition - October 24, 2007 Welcome to the first edition of the PC Chronicles, a weekly look into the world of Port Charles. Executive Produced by Ryan Chandler & Jennifer Snyder and Written by Ryan Chandler & Tishy Smith, we are here to dispense information about Port Charles. We will talk about the Quartermaines, the Cassadines, the Spencers and everyone else you want to discuss. All the stories that you have questions on, just PM Ryan or Tishy and we will answer it for you. <HR> CASTING ROUNDUP EXTENSION: Stephanie Gatschet's (Serena Baldwin) short-term contract has been extended. Though the actress has lingered since her arrival, her character has some new found direction, as fans have seen as of late. Though she hasn't been upgraded to contract status, she is expected to begin taping more over the next couple of weeks. GOINGs: JACKIE ZEMAN (Bobbie Spencer-Drake): Due to storyline reasons, the character of Bobbie will be off the canvas for a few months. Zeman, who has worked tremendously over the past two years is going to take a long needed vacation. "She will be back." says Tishy Smith. "Port Charles will have changed a bit since her departure." ASHLEY JONES (Sarah Webber): In what will be a storyline dictated exit, Ashley has been released from her contract. Ashley's Sarah was brought on to break up Patrick and Robin. Since the Patrick and Robin storyline went in another direction, there has been no story for Ashley. "We have appreciated everything Ashley has done in the year she has been with us. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of bringing her back with no real direction. She has been a true professional. We wish her well in all her endeavors." Ryan Chandler has to say about Ashley Jones on her exit. Looks like those rumors of an AJ/Sarah pairing officially can be squashed. We can confirm the actress will return later next year. <HR> BLIND ITEMS: UNHAPPY DIVA?: There is a rumor going around the studio that one actress doesn't like her surroundings. Sources say she was under the impression her storyline was going to be bigger than it has been. Rumor has it that she may be looking for a way out of her contract. TPTB are actively looking for her replacement if she gets out of her contract. TO RE-SIGN OR NOT TO RE-SIGN?: We hear that the contracts of two actors are coming up. One has enjoyed a pretty good run in a front burner story and is heading for a new romance. Though he's enjoying his story, he only signed on for a year and 3 short term extensions have already happened. If he does leave, expect the role to be recast right away. The other actor signed a short term contract and is ready to leave. Setsiders say he feels his character has run it's course with the writers, and doesn't want to re-sign if he's not going to have a prominent story. EXIT RIGHT?: There's talk of a dramatic change in the look of the canvas coming up. A few actors could find themselves receiving their walking papers <HR> QUESTIONS: Each week, Ryan & Tishy will field questions from the viewers. Hopefully you'll gain a bit more insight into the show. Q: Emily has been written in a very different way and is far more aggressive. Why is that? We want to make Emily a true Quartermaine in every sense of the word. One complaint we've read about the character of Emily in the past is that she is very weak. Well our Emily has gone through a lot in the year she's been off canvas. We'll eventually a little more of her growth in the future. For now, she is very angry at Monica. It's because of Alan & Monica that Emily wanted to become a doctor. Emily sees Monica's actions as just another betrayal to Alan and the family. She is going to channel that anger in a very unique way. Q: Robin is now pregnant. With her HIV status, how could she not pass it to Patrick and her unborn child? We've done a lot of research on this story. With the type of HIV that Robin has, she has a very small chance of passing the HIV to either Patrick or her child. Both Robin and the baby will take a protocol to make passing HIV a smaller chance. So it is possible that she doesn't pass the HIV to either Patrick or their baby." Q: What is the mystery involving Sam and does she have feelings for Lucky? Sam is proving to be a Cassadine through and through. As readers know, she is being controlled by Helena. Helena's hatred for the Spencers has flowed through her veins for decades. She finally has an opportunity to hurt Luke where it counts. As far as Sam's feelings for Lucky....she does have feelings for him, but how much of that is legitimate and how much is a ruse? Thanks to Helena's influence, you have to question if they are real or not. This will be a huge story for us coming up. Q: The story between Lorenzo and Sonny is heating up. What is going to happen in this mafia story? What can we look forward to? The Mob War will play through November. Without giving too much away there will be a lot of drama. Some will be unresolved, some will end. There will be causalities. The fact of the matter is, the mob just doesn't fit into our vision for the blog and it hasn't since it was created back in January 06. Anna was brought on to rid Port Charles of it's criminal essence and there's a chance she could succeed next month. Q: What is the state, in your opinions, of the mySON TV blogs, and how do you compare them to real daytime dramas right now? We feel as if everyone is putting forth their best effort right now. Gone is the feeling of "competition". We're all supporting each other by providing constructive feedback and showing the writers that what their doing isn't being wasted. One thing that's different than it was maybe earlier in year is that showing of support. As far as the real daytime dramas go, I get more enjoyment from reading some of the blogs than I do with their real life counterparts. Many of us blog writers follow the "Single Vision Theory" and that's why the blogs are doing as good as they are. <HR> CLOSING We just want to thank everyone for continuing to support not only our blog, but the other mySON TV blogs as well. We also want to give a special thanks to Salem Lives writers PhoenixRising & Roman for giving us the inspiration to do this kind of entry. If it wasn't for them, we probably wouldn't have done the Chronicles. Their Salem Lives Insider has been a great feature at mySON TV and we hope the PC Chronicles will as well. - Ryan & Tishy

    Updated Opening!!

Today marks the debut of the updated opening for "Port Charles." The line-up has shifted in some parts, to make room for other characters and changes to the storylines. As previously reported, "Port Charles," has been actively looking for a new actress to play the role of "Emily Quartermaine."Jennifer Ferrin (ex-Jennifer, ATWT) has been chosen to fill that role. She will first air the week of June 1st. The following actors have been added to the opening: Jennifer Ferrin (Emily), Stephanie Gatschet (Serena), Scott Bailey (Hunter), Jake Weary (Michael), Gina Tognoni (Brenda). <object width="325" height="250"><param name="movie" value=" name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="325" height="250"></embed></object> New Updated Lineup: Alan & Monica Emily Mac Maxie Dillon Serena & Hunter Lulu Lucas Bobbie Nikolas Carly Michael AJ Sonny Carly/Brenda Brenda Ric Alexis Kristina Patrick Robin David Lainey Steven Sarah Elizabeth Jason Sam Lucky Jax Anna Lorenzo Skye Ned Tracy Luke Lucy Kevin
  10. Brenda Returns! Additional Casting News In some news that is sure to rock the foundation of Port Charles, the executives at the show have decided after months of speculation, that now is the perfect time for Brenda to return. However.....Vanessa Marcil will not be returning to the show. Instead, TPTB have tapped Emmy Winner Gina Tognoni (ex-Dinah, GL; ex-Kelly, OLTL) to take over the role. "We asked Vanessa to return," says Jennifer Snyder, the consulting producer for 'Port Charles'. "However after some discussion, we felt it best for her to fulfill her commitment to NBC and 'Las Vegas'. I talked things over with Ryan [Chandler] and we both agreed to no longer pursue Vanessa." Fortunately the show had a great alternative choice! "We choose Gina because we think she can capture the unique portrayal that Vanessa did, and build on top of that to make the role her own." Ryan Chandler says. "She tested very well with her scene partners and seemed genuinely excited about this new venture. She will work out great." Now that Brenda is returning, does that mean she'll be with Jax...or Sonny? "Brenda's not in town for either one of them....though her return will surely ruffle their feathers. She comes back to town to help Robin with a series of problems, two in particular that will cause Brenda to stay in town longer than she expected." And how will Carly react? "Carly has other things on her mind besides Brenda, but that could change if she begins to feel threatened. We all know how territorial Carly can get." "I'm looking forward to reuniting with Laura Wright," says Gina Tognoni. "We had great chemistry on Guiding Light, and i can't wait to recapture that magic here." <HR> In additional casting news, the show has decided to again recast the role of Michael Corinthos III. When asked why the show is recasting, we were told it was for "storyline reasons." Apparently the show wanted to go with a more younger actor and felt that though Bobby Steggert was a good actor, he didn't fit the direction of the character. Former ATWT star Jake Weary (ex-Luke) will take over the role beginning Friday, May 18th. <HR> Also, the show has opted to recast the roles of Serena Baldwin and Hunter Halloway before the actors set in the roles (Ashley Benson & Eric Winter) began taping. "We decided to make the character of Serena older than we originally anticipated. We felt we could get better story with an older actress in the role." Again, keeping with the trend of picking up former CBS actors, Stephanie Gatschet (ex-Tammy, GL) will take over the role of Serena Baldwin. Hunter will be portrayed by Stephanie's former screen parter on 'Guiding Light' Scott Bailey (ex-Sandy). "We decided we can introduce these two characters together, and give them a backstory and have that play out on screen." Serena & Hunter are romantically involved and will debut on the show together. We have been told that Eric Winter is still being considered for a role coming next year, but nothing is set in stone. The actors are said to be slightly disappointed, but understand that this wasn't a personal decision. <HR> GOING: Kristina Wagner (Felicia) and Lindze Letherman (Georgie) have taped their final scenes. The actresses will last air in three weeks, when the two decide to move back out to Texas. Could Wally Kurth be on his way out? Rumor has it that the actor would like a 6 month break to spend more time with his children. STAYING: Stuart Damon, Leslie Charleson, Jane Elliot, & Lynn Herring have all extended their contracts with the show. The powers that be wanted to reward the actors for their long years of service with new extended contracts. RETURNING?: Could Emily be returning? Sources are telling us that PC is gearing up for a big story that might require the presence of the beloved Quartermaine heiress. A former CBS actress was spotted on the set says an anonymous source.

    Major Changes Coming!

Major Changes Coming!! By Kalen Dar Last October, Port Charles' (then known as General Hospital) Head Writer/Executive Producer Ryan Chandler promised viewers that the corporate feel would be coming to the show. Over that time, the writing team began creating the foundations for that to happen. Carly became the new owner of Deception Cosmetics and formed her own head corporation called "Deception Inc.". Tracy, with some help from Luke & Carly became the CEO of ELQ and promptly ousted Skye from the company. Even earlier in the year (pre-arcs), Nikolas assumed the reigns of Cassadine Industries and began slow takeovers of other companies. Sonny & Jason began another shift toward legitimate business practices having Corinthos-Morgan Enterprises acquire various exporting companies and construction businesses. What was the reasoning behind these moves? "Well, I am a huge fan of The Young & the Restless and their boardroom drama had me hooked from day one. When I got the chance to intern at the show, I learned the ins and outs of what makes good corporate drama. By doing this on Port Charles, we can expand storyline opportunities beyond the hospital. This has been in the works since last year, and is a big reason why we received permission to rename "General Hospital" to "Port Charles". This was also done to have more characters that don't usually interact with one another, interact and to bring out umbrella storyline opportunities that don't focus on the mob." Since the new writing team took over in January 2006, the mob has had little to no impact on storylines. "General Hospital has had mob influences since the 70's, but there is no need to constantly bombard the audience with mob violence." Sonny Corinthos spent the majority of 2006 backburnered with no story whatsoever; it is only recently that a mob story has begun to take place on the show. We asked why we have seen a resurgence of mob activity on the show as of late. "The reason why you have seen the set up to a big mob storyline is because we felt now was the time. We have a great balance," the HW/EP says, "we feel that we can tell this story without having it dominate airtime and focus on just those within the mob environment. However, this is a separate issue." So when can viewers expect to see the shift to the corporations? "There will be some scenes next week at ELQ and Deception, and there will be an announcement regarding a partnership between Deception & Titan (Jax's company). Our crew has constructed brand new sets and the actors are ready for this change. Now we are in a writing transition and will be bringing on new writers to help with the show. We look forward to everyone continuing to bear with us as we make this transition. Get ready for sex in the boardrooms, blackmail, corporate takeovers and more!"

  16. 3 Hunks & A Hottie To Join!! The city of Port Charles is about to become hotter and hotter! To follow up on a previously reported story, after weeks of searching, PCINDepth can confirm to SONBC, that the roles of Blake, Ethan & Hunter have been cast, as well as a then unannounced role for a female character. 3 of the 4 characters have established ties to those who either currently reside, or did reside in Port Charles. We have been told that the character “Blake” is the brother of Alison Barrington. The role of Blake Barrington will be played by former “Passions” alum and current “Smallville” star Justin Hartley. In 2002, Hartley joined the cast of Passions as the headstrong Fox Crane, the rich heir of the villainous Alistair Crane. Hartley has been taping for the past 4 weeks and will debut at a yet unknown time. The role of Hunter Halloway (yes, he has a last name) will be played by former “DAYS” star Eric Winter. Winter has been taping for the past 2 weeks and will debut in May. Winter’s character Hunter is the brother of Summer Halloway, a character murdered by Stefan in 2003. Expect Hunter to become heavily involved with Lucas. The role of “Ethan Scott”, now known as “Evan Kozlosky”, will be played by Ryan Carnes. Carnes previously portrayed the role of Lucas Jones from 2004-2005. Additionally, changes have been made to the character as well. Instead of being a teacher or professor, he will be a junior at Port Charles University and is the star of the soccer team. The character is intended to stick around for 13-20 weeks, direction of the storyline will determine whether or not the character will be around longer. In regards to his storyline, the writers are tempted to tackle a serious issue, but will tank the story at any time if it doesn’t work out. In addition, Ashley Benson has been tapped to play the role of 18 year old Serena Baldwin. Serena was last seen in 2003 and was played by Carly Schroeder. When asked why Serena is returning at this time, the writers felt Lucy needed more family in town and it would boost the younger set as well. Lastly, the contracts of Alicia Leigh Willis (Courtney) and Matt Cohen (Brandon) have officially ended. The writers felt they could get better story from the death of the characters than if they chose to recast. The two have already finally aired. Lindze Letherman has been bumped to recurring.
  17. New Openings & Minor Casting News Finally after a very, very long delay, I can reveal the new opening for the newly rebranded "Port Charles" and the "Endgame" story arc. I have also included a list of the characters in the fic who appear in the opening. New Opening Video Please note: Ingo Rademacher (Jax) has been re-added to the opening now that he has is back on contract. Lindze Letherman (Georgie), Kimberlin Brown (Alexandria) and Eileen Davidson (Victoria) have been removed. The original story penned for Kimberlin and Eileen's characters are still planned, but as of right now, there is no time available for their story. Also, as announced before, the roles of Michael, Dillon and Kristina were recast. The new actors have been added to the opening. Lucy Alan/Monica Kevin Mac Maxie Dillon Lulu Lucas Bobbie Nikolas Carly Michael AJ Sonny Kristina Alexis Ric Jax Anna David Lainey Steven Sarah Patrick Robin Jason Sam Lucky Liz Jason Lorenzo Skye Ned Tracy Luke After my computer crashed, I thought that I would never do an opening video again. I had tons of HQ openings on my computer that were lost and didn't think I'd ever get them back. Thanks to some great friends who heard me not only on SON & The Dish ask about the openings from a popular site, and to another friend who heard me on the radio show talking about it, I was sent many of the openings that I lost. I want to thank those people (and you know who you are) for doing this for me.

    Casting Call!!

Casting Call Issued For 4 Roles Sources close to those at Port Charles/General Hospital are reporting that the show has issued a casting call in order to fill 4 recurring roles that will have major impact on current and future stories to come: ***Names Are Subject To Change*** "Ethan Scott" - A complex character with a dark past. He is between the ages of 23-26 and will interact with the current young adult set and the younger teens. Will be a professor/teacher at Port Charles University or Port Charles High School. He is a real ladies man, someone that the younger girls crush on and can make older women swoon. Has the "boy next door" quality. Will be around for 13-20 weeks. Not a long-term character. "Blake" - A young man, between the ages of 25-28 who's used to getting what he wants. Considered to be snobbish at times, even conceited, though deep down, he's just someone who is lonely and misunderstood. He uses his arrogance as defense mechanism to protect himself from getting hurt. Comes from a very wealthy family, maybe connected to someone in Port Charles. "Hunter" - A 21 year old college student who befriends Lucas. Is related to someone who was in Port Charles for a short time, but was involved with some important characters. Harbors some ill will towards those who interacted with his relative(s). Is currently on the outs with his family for being a "disappointment". Struggles for acceptance. "Trevor" - Trevor is the father of Ric Lansing. He has many layers to him with a very dark past. Has a mental hold on Ric that no one else has. We are currently in the process of casting these roles. If you have any ideas for who we should choose, please let us know.

    Changes Coming to GH

I was originally going to post this at the end of the current story arc, but I've decided to let people know this ahead of time. At the end of the "Secrets & Lies" story arc, General Hospital will undergo a few changes. 1. The name will change from "General Hospital" to "Port Charles". The blog has gone through a series of short name changes (over a span of one week), but we have decided to permnately change the name to "Port Charles". Though the hospital is a big part of the show, we have storylines taking placing all over town. We feel by renaming it "Port Charles", I it will further enhance our vision for the show. As well as make it easier for accompanying graphics. 2. The "Endgame" story arc will not be a 13 week story as I originally thought. There are many big events that will happen during this arc that will forever change the foundation of Port Charles, I feel that it will take more time to correctly to the story. RECASTS GALORE!!! 3. 4 roles have been recast. Scott Clifton will no longer be portraying Dillon Quartermaine. We will be taking the character and a new direction and feel that Scott (though a great actor) does not fit that direction. John-Paul Lavoisier will immediately take over the role of Dillon on Saturday, February 17. The roles of Michael Corinthos III, Kristina Davis Corinthos and Morgan Corinthos have been recast due to SORASing. Effective immediately (as hinted through off-screen actions), Michael has been aged from 11 to 16. Kristina has been aged from 6 to 15 and Morgan has been aged from 4 to 9. The time comes on every soap when the younger characters are aged for the sake of story. In an effort to try and keep the ages together, we have aged those children. Fans will notice that Michael and Kristina are close to the same age. This was done for the sake of the "Endgame" story arc and future storylines. It is not unheard for characters who are older than one other to end up being around the same age after SORASing (i.e. Dillon/Brooke Lynn/Maxie/Georgie/Lucas being around the same age even though Lucas should be older than all of them). Bobby Steggert (ex-Sam, AMC) has taken over the role of Michael as of last week. Kristen Alderson (Starr, OLTL) takes over the role of Kristina on Tuesday, February 20. Giovanni Cimmino (ex-Parker, ATWT) takes over the role of Morgan on Wednesday, February 21. 4. The dialog/summary form of storytelling will continue. On days when we get behind, we will do breakdown summaries so we don't get too behind. 5. We may be looking for another team writer. It is expected that one on our team will be taking an indefinite leave of absence.

  24. Two Surprise Returns Follow Up! Lic Itup On yesterday’s episode of GH: Secrets & Lies, viewers were treated to a very good surprise when Lynn Herring returned to the show as fan favorite Lucy Coe Collins! The actress has been in talks to return to the show since last year. Lynn actually signed a contract to return to the show back in July, but her return was only known by high level executives. Lynn is very happy with her upcoming storyline and is thrilled that the show asked her to return. Don’t expect things to be smooth between she and Kevin anytime soon. She asked the writers not to pair her up immediately with Jon Lindstrom’s character because she wanted the chance to work with other actors. Additionally, viewers were stunned to see AJ Quartermaine return to the show! Some fans were disappointed that neither Sean Kanan or Billy Warlock were asked to return. Actor Dan Gauthier (ex-Kevin, OLTL) has taken over the role. When asked why Dan was chosen, the show replied that AJ was to be taken in a new direction. “We feel that Dan will transition the AJ character into the next phase of his life. We feel that Dan is an amazing actor who will do great things. We would have loved to bring back Billy or Sean, but we felt Dan was the better choice.” During AJ’s time back, he will try to make amends with his son and the mother of his child. The history between AJ & Carly is so rich and the writers plan on capitalizing on that. There are no plans to kill of AJ’s character under this regime and there are no plans to pair up Carly & AJ romantically. AJ’s storyline will predominately involve him trying to have a relationship with Michael.
  25. Actress Swap! New Addition To Cast! by Leph Turn Look for actress Ashley Jones (Bridget, B& to join the cast of GH as "Sarah Webber". A few months ago we broke news that Erin Hershey Presley was to play the role, but due to the actress' pregnancy, the show decided to recast the role with her permission. Originally the writers planned to write her pregnancy into the show once they learned the news, but she didn't want them to make special concessions for her. It is expected that she will join the show in a yet unnamed role next year after her child is born. There are no hard feelings between Erin & GH and the storyline with Sarah Webber will continue on as scheduled. Joining the returning Sarah Webber will be her and Liz's brother "Steven Lars Webber". Steven will be played by actor Nolan North, best known for his role on Port Charles as Dr. Chris Ramsey. The role of Steven was last played by Shaun Benson in 2005. We called the show for comment and was surprised when they agreed to do so. "Steven is returning to the show to be with his family. His sisters will be going through a rough time come 2007 and will need to be there to help them. The show is also in need of male characters. There have been many female additions to the cast. There is much story to be told with the Steven character." Look for Nolan & Ashley to begin airing in two weeks. We have received word that contract negotiations between Ingo Rademacher and GH have been going very well. It is expected the actor will be bumped back up to contract status in mid 2007.
