I've been meaning to post this for awhile, but I always forget. Noah Segan (Connor Lockhart, DAYS) has a prominent supporting role in the soon to be released KNIVES OUT, an entertaining and hilarious thriller with an all-star cast that includes Chris Evans, Christopher Plummer, Toni Collette, Jamie Lee Curtis, et cetera. I highly encourage everyone to go see it when it is theatrically released in late November. I was lucky enough to see it at TIFF.

Another young adult brought in to hastily summon a departing character off?

I confess, I had tuned out of DAYS between 1999-2009, so that entire decade is a bit of a blur to me!

I think I've accepted plenty of criticism with grace. And, I don't think I've been defensive. But, from the get-go people have been "not nice" to me.

And promptly ignored it by returning to the exact same behaviours.

I'm done trying to have sense into you. If you can't figure out why people haven't been welcoming at this rate, then you're beyond help, because we have done NOTHING but explain it to you. Over and over again. Take some responsibility for your own actions.

@beebs said it best. I'd also like to point out that an unsolicited bibliography? Really?

And she wonders why she's being "chewed out".

@Donna B If you can't figure out at this point why people are "chewing you out more than neccessary", then maybe consider taking on board the reasons we have told you why we're annoyed with you, instead of thumbing your nose at us, and immediately repeating the same behaviours that caused us to "chew you out" to begin with.

    Grow up.

Pat Falken Smith became head writer in 1975 and the only Bradys she created were Roman and the first Kayla. Wrong as usual.

Not to mention, the Brady family wasn't created as a result of the hour-long expansion in '75, but from her return to the show in 1982.

Also, congratulations on being the first person to say something other than Donna in this thread in the last 42 posts. When we talk about "spam", Donna, THIS is what we mean. Discussion means actually engaging with others.

I apologize for any offence but my response came from the frustration that was shared with others when suddenly multiple threads were full of rambling, irrelevant, repetitive posts.

I welcome all posts. Of course, I may not agree or be interested in each and every one but at the least I would hope the poster put some time or thought into them.

It seems that Donna is aware of that and is modifying her style. 😀

    Evidently you spoke too soon.

Donna. Chill! We know you love these shows, but you posting A LOT in very short order. It's overwhelming for most of us.

I know Donna from RATSC, where she posted for many years... She is not a Jonnysbro-style troll. Y'all can be a bit cliquish, my goodness.

This isn't cliquishness. This is frustration at someone posting indiscriminately and inappropriately all over the forum, and us trying to find ways to reign them in. All, of course, in vain because they refuse to give even an inch to try to acclimate to their surroundings.

I appreciate your interest and enthusiasm, Donna. What I don't appreciate is your domination of this forum, and your lack of awareness of the community you've attempted to enter.

I didn't realize I duplicated the Paley Center YT links. I had no idea you were trying to be nice. I don't think I am a spammer. I don't think I post pointless anecdotes, whatever that might be, I make errors sometimes and I correct them. I don't think I am being audacious about a handful of people being snarky. I just got a new soap opera book "Writing for Daytime Drama" by Jean Rouverol in the mail at mid-day and besides looking at that and watching DOOL live and being on the computer I was multi-tasking. And, last up, I am not here looking for attention.

You would've known you'd duplicated your post if you'd bothered to look.

You are ABSOLUTELY a spammer, particularly when there are threads where the last 40 (I'm not exaggerating) are JUST YOU copying and pasting random crap from who-knows-where.

The Jean Rouverol book is about three and a half decades old. We all know about it. Don't post about it here.

You inject yourself into literally every active topic and immediately kill any discussion by overwhelming it with the first thing that happens to enter your mind.

Just step away from the keyboard.

Well, the day brought a free unsolicited pizza delivery. That was weird!

Talk about soaps in the off-topic thread, and talk about pizza in the soap threads.

    Make it make sense, lady.

This week has been a snooze.  All the momentum in the badly executed heart transplant is gone. The Eric/Nicole/Sarah/Xander quad is awful. The longer Xander and Nicole are in Sarah and Eric's orbit's the duller they become. Plus Days is to cheap to even show the heart transplant scenes.

DAYS has really mastered the art of telling the story instead of showing it, haven't they? SMH

You just posted these same links 2 hours ago!

I'm done being nice about this. You spam threads with endless links no one cares about, irrelevant walls of text longer than the Canadian border, random search strings, pointless anecdotes that add nothing to any conversation, post incorrect info on the daily, and bump years-dead topics to reply to what someone said in 2005, and then have the audacity to wonder why you're the only person who people are being short with! It's unbelievable!

Nobody is coming here to give you the attention you so obviously are desperate to receive. If you want to prattle on like this, start a Blogger account. You can copy/paste whatever you want there and post 45 times a day there. This is not the place.

  9. Donna, there are transatlantic flights shorter than that post. Could you please, for the umpteenth time, not copy and paste huge walls of text into threads??? Nobody is going to read that. We've tried being nice, but I think everyone is well and truly fed up. Stop apologizing if you're not going to stop this nonsense.

A few months after the rape, Luke did something really disgusting. As Laura and Scotty were dancing at the disco, he changed the music playing to "Rise."

I think what gets me most about this whole scene is how well it depicts the insidiousness and the persistent violence that all-too-often plays out with rapists. That he continues to torment his victim in a power game to force her to pay attention to him, and for him to be revered by everyone around him while she suffers in silence. It's so real, so vicious, and so...common.

The fact that this was all tossed aside for some "great love" makes it all the more offensive to know what comes after, and how sad it is that a story that was so powerful be turned into something so ugly.
