  1. Skins: On a scale of Forget It! to Yes, You Should Try Watching all 63 episodes before it gets taken off Netflix on 8/2, how good of a watch would it be?

    1. All My Shadows

      All My Shadows

I watched the first two series (the cast changes after) when I was in high school and adored it - rewatched a few years ago and still loved it, but felt so differently about the individual characters. It's a good time and a quick watch. I can't speak on the second or third generation series.

      soapfan770

The first two series were the best and I definitely recommend. I didn't really get into the second generation and can't speak on the third. Don't waste anytime on the crappy American MTV remake they attempted to do.

Thank you both. I'm halfway through the first series and enjoying it a lot. Not sure how I feel about changing casts but let's see. And I think I'll stay far away from the US version unless my curiosity takes over!

  2. Are you ready for some stupid love?!?!

  3. In the year 2020, a soap is finally streaming old episodes. Too bad it's only a defunct one from the 60s. Maybe the *current* ones will finally catch up?!

  4. Congrats, Mariah! 😂

  5. Great. So now It has a second profile and is quote/replying to Itself...

What's with all these DID posters? OLTL has been cancelled for long enough for that particular story trend to be over.

  6. Ally McBeal Season 4: Robert Downey Jr's suddenly a regular cast member and his chemistry with Flockhart is hot!

    1. sheilaforever

      sheilaforever

The season is just SOOO good. Larry & Ally were off the charts hot. Too bad that Robert Downey Jr. killed the show as he was still battling his addictions back then prompting a very sudden end to...

It really is a phenomenal season. I'll enjoy it while it lasts! That's too bad about RDJ. I thought maybe by this point, he was recovering and this was his comeback.

  7. Finally listening to the "Like A Prayer" album for the first time. I am only 30 years late.

I was reading about the one-take thing. You can certainly hear the emotion. It truly is a masterful album.

Yaasss! Oh Father and Promise to Try are wonderful.  Madonna doesn't get enough credit for her incredible ballads. These days, next to no one does ballads :(

    4. YRBB

      YRBB

Agreed - ballads are not the first thing most would associate Madonna with but I think her gift for beautiful melodies and emotion shines through them.

  8. TNG: Some great episodes recently, like the one about Worf's brother, but WHAAAAT is that nasty episode about that poor Barclay making fun of his EXTREME social anxiety, introversion, and stuttering? None of the characters seemed to get that's what was going on? How???  And to read he was created to make fun of obsessive nerds/geeks. Ouch. This one has NOT aged well. Also, LaForge is a little annoying, isn't he?

    1. marceline

      marceline

I rewatched that a couple of weeks ago. It's horrible. It's pretty much the antithesis of what Star Trek is supposed to represent. It's mean spirited on a bunch of levels.

    2. YRBB

      YRBB

Exactly. All these supposedly enlightened individuals from the future acting like this? I'd really rather forget this ever happened.

  9. What in the ever loving HELL is going on on this board??!!!!

  10. Two episodes into the new season. David Harbour deserves an Emmy.

You're in for a wild ride. I just finished watching it. tenor.gif?itemid=12207079

  12. Wow, Jessica Biel has revealed herself as complete trash!

If folks don't want to use vaccines, that fine.  Just keep ya damn kids in a bubble in the back yard and away from me and mine!

My condolences go out to her daughters Kidada and Rashida.  This has to be a very difficult Mother's Day for them.

    1. KMan101

      KMan101

Well, dammit. Her inclusion will probably get me to watch. I don't mind faux-reality shows where people play heightened versions of themselves and I never thought any of them would truly revive their characters ... it seems like a miss. But we'll see. At least most of the cast (sadly without Luke Perry of course) will be there. I'm just ... not sure what to make of it.

Same here. Like, I can't NOT check it out. Will it work? Hard to tell, even though I doubt it. But maybe... just maybe....

  14. Absolutely disgusting that, in 2019, it has to be put to a vote whether you can be fired for being gay. It'll be great if they go pro-LGBT and settle this once and for all, but still horrible that this must be decided. Still.

It's also depressing, for me at least.  All these protections being stripped away, piece by piece is like death by a thousand cuts to the national fabric of this country.  I can't say I'm surprised by any of this but still...depressing.

    3. Khan

      Khan

And really, what the hell difference does it make if someone is gay (or bisexual)?  What bearing does a person's sexuality have on whether or not he (or she) can perform their job satisfactorily?  Conservatives look for any way they can to punish others for not being heterosexual, and it's appalling.

      What?! Are you serious?   :o

  15. 1, 2, cha cha cha.. slow down, papi!

  16. Watched my first episode of Babylon 5 ever. It was really good but who was a guest star? Shari Shattuck. Why, God, why?!

  17. Why did I wait so long to start One Day at a Time?!? Only 2 episodes in and I have laughed and cried (often at the same time) SO much.

I think FH ending is more about the Jeff Franklin drama. With Marvel it's the licensing fees bc they don't own it and Marvel TV refused to cut the episode orders down from 13.

    3. DRW50

      DRW50

I agree, but surely that would mean they have more budget. Isn't Orange in the New Black also ending?

    4. Vee

      Vee

Yes. I think Netflix has also attempted to become more cutthroat about cancellations and renewals in the last couple years, for better or worse. Early on they would renew literally anything. But if they can give the new She-Ra (which is pretty good, in fairness) an early renewal they can do the same with ODAAT IMO.

  18. Bohemian Rhapsody was really good. Rami Malek gave the performance of a lifetime. Glad to hear it OVERperformed, surpassing expectations.

I think I read Bryan Singer was fired and another director, Dexter Fletcher, took over (uncredited). So, @DRW50, watch without guilt!

    3. Taoboi

      Taoboi

He was and he did re: director.

And wow at Allen Leech...he has come into his own (and looked hot in that one scene with the 'tuche and arms) since his days on HBO'S ROME. For a clear villain, there was layers for days over on with one look.

But I saw it last night and it's STILL on my mind. the whole crowd were transfixed on that screen. And Rami just draws you in. It was just awesome.

    4. Cat

      Cat

I hesitate to see it, like DRW said, because of Bryan Singer's link to the project. I also read a review that said the movie was anti-gay and basically put Freddie Mercury's sexuality as the 'reason' for his problems with the rest of Queen. To viewers of the film, would you say that was true?

  19. Finally finishing up the wonderful Carnivàle. The answers--and twists--coming at you nonstop. Too bad it didn't sustain its ratings or get a proper wrap-up.

That reminds me...another show I have to get around to watching. :((

    2. YRBB

      YRBB

Taoboi, it's highly worth it, and at only 24 episodes, not a huge commitment. The first season builds sloooowly, but everything comes together and it's a thrill ride.

    3. Taoboi

      Taoboi

Good thing I love a slow burn. ;)

  20. Orange is the New Black ending its run with Season 7.

  21. God help me, but I'm rewatching Models, Inc. again. For, like, the 3rd time...

    1. Taoboi

      Taoboi

lol. Something I need to do myself.

I always did like the Cassiday Rae wedding dress scene with Sting's 'field of gold' playing.
