  1. All I have to say is that they better leave my Miami alone. Miami is the ONE cast that does not need to be touched. Yes, you can upgrade all 3 of the friends of full-time, but everyone on that cast needs to return.

Bravo always messing up a good thing. Dumbasses.

I am glad that nuRHONY is returning with all of its players. Glad Jenna decided to return. I think she'll come into her own this season.

  2. @Manny I saw the clip of Jack's affair coming out and I have to say that everyone in that scene was on point; however, I am over the Slater women sleeping around the Square. It's old. They're like turnpikes at this point, as everyone has ridden them. But I am glad that Diane Parrish/Denise is getting some shine in this story. I love that she is emerging as the star of the fallout of the Xmas episodes.

  3. So I saw the current Ben tweet or post on IG about his status. I am assuming it was his last day of filming. Or was it his last airdate (as I have not been watching for a long time)?

Regardless, are they recasting Ben or putting the character on ice? Honestly, Ben is a character that needs to be put out to pasture for YEARS (as in decades) before they revisit a return of the character.

The payoff is so they can be patted on the back for yet another "issue-based" storyline.

It's all lazy, cheap material, poorly developed and utterly predictable - of course as his father was EVIL EVIL EVIL, he must be too.

Moments like this makes me glad that I put Emmerdale on ice. It hurts my heart that they are making the son of my beloved Carl (as I loved the King clan at their height) be the latest villain. Again, I just feel this will end up poorly for Tom in that he'll be murdered much like majority of his family. And yet again poor Jimmy will be the only King on the show (besides his kids). It's low hanging fruit and yet another chance to make annoying a** Belle be a damsel and victim.

Tom kicked the urn and her ashes spread all over the place. Tom then blamed Belle for it because she "upset" him. Go to around 4.10

My issue with this is--what is the payoff? I bet there isn't a long-term payoff any way besides probably setting it up for him to be shot or killed at Xmas. I just this is disrespectful of the memory of Lisa.

What is it with this show and dead people's ashes? I don't think anyone has forgotten the disgusting way they handled Liv's ashes, and now they're at it again with Lisa's....

I find it really distasteful, and it makes me incredibly grateful that they didn't do anything like this with Annie's ashes.

What have they done to Lisa's ashes, friend? Something vulgar I bet.

  7. Good! She got a free ride this long. I hope she saved 8 seasons worth of salary to get her through the next couple of years.

Why do I say the next couple of years?

Because I know Bravo's dumb azzes will bring her boring behind back in some capacity in future seasons. I mean look at how they keep trying to make Sheree happen.

  8. @DaytimeFan I doubt it. Monique (last week) reiterated that will never do reality TV again. I don't believe that, but I do think at this present moment that she is content with not having to put up with the reality TV antics. She seems at peace. I really think they are going to just have Keiarna take Candaice's position on the show.

  9. Not shocked if the Robyn allegations are true. This move is to scare the sh*t out of Gizelle (too) that if she doesn't get it together, her future looks bleak too. Plus Robyn has gotten a free ride for 8 seasons. Robyn fumbled the bag hard because this season should've been about her, and it ended up being about Mia, who (as aforementioned) is being propelled as the future of this show.

Backtracking to Candiace, @Cat, I think Wendy will be fine. I really think Keiarna is going to get Candiace's flute. Keiarna will be the one to bridge the gap between Wendy/Gizelle.

  10. I think that Mia more than just secured her spot next season, I think she's solidified herself as the future of this show. I am not concerned about her reunion performance b/c the trailer looks like Mia provides all the meat and bones of the reunion. If I were many of the girls, I'd be scared. Especially, Gizelle. Mia coming for that spot as the face of this show. Mia has the right level of delusion + candid enough to share any aspect of her life and own it = the perfect housewife combo.

    Candiace is out at RHOP!

Just taking a moment to say...love the new avatar @NothinButAttitude.

Thank you! My girl had me weeping last night watching those first 2 episodes on XMen'97. Storm went through it last night!

That aside, I am so glad to hear 8.5 will NOT be back for next season of BH. This is what happens when you participate in clownery by doing the bidding for others (Kyle). You did all of that and squandered your chance of being a mainstay. Idiot.

I would love that, especially after how bad I've heard Amelia's material on Passions was. She and Petronia are both so underrated and classy.

I would even be fine with them playing the same dynamics on a soap. Amelia's character being a force in the workplace while Petronia's character is a stuffy socialite who wants the best for her children. Make it happen, P&G and Michelle!!

And Amelia was criminally pigeonholed on Passions, in my opinion. Even though Passions wasn't my cup of tea, I tried watching for Amelia, but I grew tired of her character yearning for her sister's husband and being bitter. It grew tiring. One of the many reasons I was unable to connect with Passions.

Gizelle looks really good. Can't believe I wrote that.

Overall, this is probably the cast's most cohesively best looks.

Agreed. Everyone looked great this reunion. I guess they had to get something right seeing as the content of the season was pure trash. I am so glad that next week is the finale. Let's get on the reunion and then move on to retooling this show both onscreen and behind too.

Oh wow, Petronia still looks great. Amelia is equally stunning as well.

I miss both of them on daytime so bad. Gilly and her trials and tribulations at WSPR (being wedged between Roger/Holly) was some of my fave material during the Curlee era.

Is it bad I hope Michele Val Jean snatches both of them up for The Gates?

Yes, 12/23/86 was Pete's last appearance.

Thanks, Jason! I knew you'd know!

Back when DAYS still could rip your heart out and stomp on it.

When I talk about how music played an integral part in DAYS' storytelling (and how current DAYS feels so soulless without it), I'm talking about sequences like that one.

    Thanks, @NothinButAttitude.

I miss when soaps had a budget to use on music for montages. That is one of the aspects of soaps that is needed nowadays. Nothing could solidify a supercouple more than an R&B hit or a sappy song when they broke up.

If I recall correctly, Mary liked Steve and supported his romance with Alice until around the time Steve married Rachel (between his marriages to Alice).  At that point, Mary gave up on Steve and encouraged Alice to move on without him and date other men.

Regarding Rachel -- Mary never really trusted Rachel, but tried to be supportive of Russ's marriage to her.  When the family found out Jamie was not Russ's son and that Rachel had become pregnant by Steve Frame, Mary turned against Rachel vehemently and more or less grew to hate her.  But there was a nice scene between Rachel and Mary in 1975, after Rachel was seeing Mac.  The two women ran into one another in the hospital cafeteria, and had an uncomfortable but civil exchange.  Alice walked in and joined the scene.  After Rachel left, Mary commented to Alice that Rachel seemed to have changed since meeting Mac, and she hoped Rachel could finally find happiness.  This was just a feew weeks before Mary died.

Mary was uneasy about Rachel from early on, regardless of how much Rachel tried to ingratiate herself into the family. It was clear that Rachel was desperate to better her life's circumstances, in terms of money and social status.

After Jim Matthews found out that Steve, and not Russ, had gotten Rachel pregnant, Mary couldn't even control her fury. She became enraged and started shrieking, "I hate her! I HATE HER!" Imagine Alice Horton or Ruth Martin or Jessie Brewer going berserk like that. It was actually rather chilling.

Mary was okay with Steve at the beginning. He was kind to Alice and respectful to the family. But after what he did to Russ and Alice, Mary developed negative feelings about Steve, and her cool reserve lasted a long time.

Mary became chilly towards Steve after he devastated her children, but she never had a beef with John, IIRC.

I was questioning this because I got around to listening to the 10th-anniversary link that you all posted here last night. When the wedding was brought up (and I don't know if it was just me), Mary seemed sympathetic to John but sounded dry at the mention of Steve. I kind of figured that she didn't take to Steve at all; however, didn't John step out on Pat when Mary was alive? I know that all the stuff with Olive came afterward. I'd imagine that Mary's feelings for him would have been very different too.

Was Jim OK with Rachel or did he tolerate her? I have always noticed that the patriarchs on a lot of soaps have a soft spot for the headstrong daughter-in-laws despite everything.
