  1. I'm anxious to see today's episode to see what Laura has convinced Luke. However I'm loving the fact that every single Spencer woman - including Lulu - called Laura out in one way or another for being a manipulative beotch. I'm also glad Tracy shoved it in her face that she wasn't there when Luke needed help, but suddenly she shows up when she wants him. My dislike for the character of Laura can't increase, but it's wonderful to see the dialogue being played out by those who know her.

No one has left the party yet - we are going to hear what is happening, or at least the reason Luke will give. No one switches gears that quickly.

  2. Well, I do rather relish the idea of Laura in prison, forever after. smile.png

I thought they weren't killing him off, that they were leaving the door open for a return (although that's unlikely). I don't want Luke to choose to leave Tracy and his family, so maybe they can leave him in a coma. They are fond of recycling ideas. It certainly sounds like he's saying goodbye, to everyone he shares a scene with, these last few days.

I don't think anyone is fooled or should be fooled - when he leaves, he leaves. However TPTB aren't going to say anything else. I am following another show where an actor left, and it's very evident that she has no interest in the show now that the show didn't die with her, but became another actor's staring vehicle. She has demonstrated herself to be rather immature about the whole thing, tbh. But TPTB still say 'of course she will return, we just have to find something that works'. I will be gobsmacked if anything does happen, but the show runners are not going to tell her fans that. Same with this show - how many times have fans been said 'we love X and they are always welcome,' and yet nothing happens and there is enough backstage gossip to suggest there is no loved lost.

TPTB will always keep a door open for their biggest star, even if it is completely apparent that he will never walk through. And on the off chance that he does return for a visit, there are always ghost appearances. No one knows anything about the story. I certainly don't. I'm just picking up on themes I see played really heavily in his dialogue. His goodbyes are heart-felt, his focus on how Tracy is everything is huge, and his comment about limited time and mourning a loved one stick out like a sore thumb. I know the LnLers and even some non-LnLers seem to think Laura is 'endgame' and inevitable, even though everything in the past decade both on and off screen has said the exact opposite. I'll roll my eyes at that one, because I'm only interested in seeing what actually happens, and soaps are formulaic. Right now we are watching a classic wrap up of a character. TG said how much he admired them ending Stephanie on B&B in her death. That's what he wants for Luke and TPTB have shown over the years they are willing to follow TG's lead - none of those moves have been bad, especially his desire to be paired with JE. There is no life after this for Luke, but the possibilities for his family created by his death, are practically endless.

  3. I think GF is staying for awhile, and probably getting mixed up with Nicolas. I don't know if the writers would have the guts to make Laura the shooter, but they have to write every story with an "And then what..." element. Making Luke's killer (assuming they go that route) someone who will be off screen again shortly afterwards, would have next to no story potential. Someone as iconic as TG leaving gives TPTB an opportunity to set story for the foreseeable future, and would be the ultimate Helena Cassidine revenge. She once threatened Laura that Luke would be the death of her. Can you imagine her crowing that she had it reversed... that Laura was the death of Luke?

Anyway, however it happens, I'm both looking forward to it and not at the same time. The Spencermaines have been my favourite GH family for more than a decade, and it's sad to see the patriarch of that group leave.

  4. It's hard watching Luke's scenes and not looking for clues. Today Luke and Anna seemed quite focused on grief after the loss of a loved one, then they mentioned how important Tracy was to Luke with Duke and Robert were important to Anna. I'm more and more convinced Luke will be killed, probably doing something heroic and stupid, especially given the clips of Holly and Laura with guns trained on each other. I'm guessing Laura accidentally kills Luke - that would set up conflict with Tracy and the rest of the Spencermaines for years to come. They are really pushing the fact that everyone knows LuNacy is right for each other, no matter how twisted they seem to an outsider, so death is the only way I can see Tracy's heartbreak happening.

  5. Why wouldn't they push LuNacy? That is the couple that is ending. How many times have we seen the last going off of a couple pushed long and hard. That's a constant in soap land just before the heartbreak and loss of one party. The foreshadowing is heartbreaking for the LuNacy fan, I can tell you.

  6. I guess the countdown has begun: Luke was really pushing 30 days today. I'm not going to be happy to see the end of LuNacy, but I hope they go out on the same note as they have been the last few days. The Spencermaines are all back - Lulu, Dillon, Ethan - even Lucky will be there. Holly has always intrigued me. If we have to endure Laura, hopefully it will be a throw-away to make the rabidly insane and ridiculous LnL fans think they are getting a bone, and then they can toddle off while we see the scenes from JE that TG talked about.

I loved JE's face today - Tracy adores Luke (can't help feeling it was JE admiring TG too), foibles and all. Let the roller coaster begin!

  7. Yup, they rapped up LnL years ago, Laura told Luke to choose, and he let her know he was with Tracy and that wasn't going to change. Lulu and Tracy have had many conversations since about how much Tracy means in Lulu's life, and how she's far more than simply the 'step-monster'. It's a really beautiful relationship. I do hope they keep it acknowledge and a priority with Laura returning. Tracy has never tried to take Laura's place. She has made her own place in Lulu's life, and before they left, Tracy had a significant place in Lucky and Ethan's lives as well. Luke has his, or at least 'had' his established with Dillon, as well.

The 'Spencermaines' are the best example of blending two legacy families into a new unit, full of possibilities and history. Unlike so many other bleedings, one family didn't have to disappear into the other.

  8. ^^ That happened when Laura awoke from her catatonic state, Scott kidnapped her, Luke and Tracy went to get Laura back, and Luke and Laura had a long conversation about how he was picking Tracy. When they got back to the hotel, Laura thanked Tracy for being there for Lulu.

  9. Dillion has been rumoured for awhile.

Marriage vow renewal makes sense, considering their most recent wedding was while Luke/Fluke was happening. (And can I just say again how HAPPY I am that TPTB fixed that story so Tracy didn't look like an idiot - that was the part that bothered me the most.) Scott and Tracy were always good, so long as both had their humour and respect. When one of them was painted as a looser, it was not so great.

  10. Where did you read that they were reuniting Luke and Laura? That's in nothing I've seen. That would be a waste of finally moving Luke along, but then Laura is and has always been a black hole character so she's hard to use. I'm always gobsmacked by the LnLers who keep saying they are 'owed for their loyalty'. That's foolish.

I'll see if they do anything with Tracy, but if this month is anything to go on, they still aren't doing much with her when Luke is gone. This regime is hanging on to the same core crew the last few have used, and they hold no interest for me at all. Aside from LuNacy, the only pairing that looks even the slightest bit interesting is Michael and Sabrina. And I'm sure some of that has to do with the fact they are about the only ones interacting with Tracy.

  11. Through Luke, Tracy was allowed to be a fuller character. Some of their best moments were in the early years when he really saw who she was, and allowed the audience to see her as most emotional, brilliant and supporting than she had been written. IMO the character of Luke has been dependent on Tracy for years. JE might not have appeared except when TG was working, but Tracy was the one who tied Luke to the canvas and kept him grounded. Lulu placed second on that list.

It will be interesting to see where they now take the more holistic Tracy. She's been set up to be a type anti-matriarch, which is interesting. Luke is the one who allowed her to be freely herself, no expectations or explanations. It's going to be extremely hard for her to let him go, no matter how that happens. Any new 'love interest' at this point would be be too soon IMO. She and Luke are too deeply bonded for her to turn to someone else easily. Even Joe was a f*ck friend, regardless of their chemistry. It wasn't a relationship. The whole revelation about Fluke showed Tracy was the one he needed (the scenes in Patricia's hospital room and the earlier one with Luke in the straight-jacket screaming to not hurt Tracy, were the only two golden moment from that entire arc).

Dillon returning makes a lot of sense, especially to tie Tracy to other stories. TG says there are things coming up for her, and I don't think he'd say that without knowing some or the plan. He's never said that before. His love and care for her were wonderful to see - he's been consistent in his praise and affection.

It will be interesting to see where this goes. I came in with LuNacy. Depending on what happens in the next few months, I might go out with them as well. Neither character held my interest alone, but together they were and are magical.

  12. If they do something stupid like have Laura part of Luke's story at this point, then why bring back the character at all? Surely there is something better they can do. As bad a character as Laura is, there are other stories she can play into, like Lulu's increasing jealousy of Valerie. TPTB have reestablished LuNacy, so I'm not going to get too concerned about yet another version of "Luke can only ever, ever be with one person".

I do hope they have something going forward. Regardless, the stories seem to be do-overs no matter how you cut it. Mob wars, corporate take-overs, drugging people for manipulation, identities that are secret or misrepresented. Right now, when I flip in, about the only thing that really seems interesting is the stuff with Spencer and Michael/Sabrina. TG once said Soaps' glory is when the characters open themselves up and bleed. He's right. I'll tune back in when I see more of that happening. I didn't think anything could be less interesting than Jason/Sam. I was wrong - Patrick/Sam is worse.

  13. There is some fanfic that dealt with Tracy/Luke c. 1978, but I can't remember who's. Back then the only scene I remember seeing shown again of the two, was a conversation in Kelly's. Otherwise, that's one of TG and JE's frustrations from back in the day, and one of the reasons TG pushed for LuNacy a decade ago.

As for posting, I come and go. It's hard to get super excited when the show isn't giving much to talk about. The whole 'Fluke' thing was only saved this month, and then TG went on vacation, my life is crazy and JE has been MIA. Hopefully we will get something more soon.

  14. ^^^ Yeah about that, did they take Olivia's baby away from Ned? First he was happy and the last time he was acting funny.

Days might give him more, but Justin is no where near as interesting as Ned. To me it's WK's loss as much as the Ned fans. I know a job is a job is a job, and he got lots of friends at Days, but it's such a boxed in character.

  15. I've almost always been optimistic. When it's a Luke-centric story, it usually gets dull and off rails pretty fast, but when the story is Luke/Tracy, even with her riding shotgun rather than driving the thing, it usually works out well. I think JE keeps TG's ego in check, which she can't do if he's the only one in the spotlight. The fact that they have Tracy supporting Michael, being with the next generation, and being completely immersed in Luke's recovery bodes well.

  16. Not from where I'm sitting - it looks like they are setting up a story for Luke to find make some redemption to counter where he is now emotionally. He needs to do something that matters, and that would be a job for someone like him. Hopefully we will get another version of Luke giving ELQ to Tracy. That never gets old. Considering who technically has the shares - Franco, Helena and Jerry, characters who have to loose just as they almost win - I don't think we have to worry about the Q's really losing ELQ for long. It would also be a good reason to have Luke off screen this summer. They've already outed the "Have to leave because I was in a dark place and needed to run" as the reason he took off. The need something else now.

We shall see if I'm right. I've got about a 50/50 average, maybe better.

  17. Something else I enjoyed about the 1st, having watched it again, was when Tracy and Luke did their romantic bit. Pat watching her brother being loved by his wife was really sweet. I think killing Patricia will go down as one of the stupider choices with this overall story. It could have been so interesting watching where the sibs went next in their journey, but TPTB shortchanged that one.

  18. I was talking about the 31st episode. She stole that one (and thanks everyone for NOT pointing out that I can't spell that word - it's one of my things, sigh...). She was amazing in the 31st. In the article of TG's interview on the subject, he talked about how it was originally Bill (which most people figured to in a heartbeat, I resisted hoping against hope that the writers were smarter than that... but alas, I was wrong). However, somewhere along the way they fixed the most glaring issues by making Luke Luke all the time, and as TG said, it solved the problem of Tracy being an idiot - which she rarely is. Like most of you, I couldn't watch the Fluke story, but I was happy with the conclusion.

About the 1st, arguably Tracy didn't have much to do, but she was there. She could easily have not been there, but she was there with Bobbie and Patricia. None of the younglings were, just the Spencer siblings and Tracy. She might not have had much to say, but her presence was very significant.

  19. I've watched the last few days - wow.... my fan heart is happy. Tracy and Bobbie working together, Tracy willing to protect Lulu from Luke's delusions and getting through to him "Beautiful women are your sisters and that gorgeous girl is your daughter, and we love you". If that is the pay-off, then the sh!t Tracy went through was worth it. And I'm instantly loving Patricia and Valerie. Love to see more of them.

Now I totally accept how Tracy could not tell the difference between Luke and Fluke - there was no physical difference. The story has been crap right from the get-go, and on the various boards I see that the story itself changed after TG came back last fall (I didn't watch it after awhile, so I have nothing to back that up), but all the concern I had about Tracy/JE being treated like an idiot for the sake of this story has been pushed aside. As good as TG is, and he was amazing yesterday, JE stoled this one fair and square.

  20. How adorable were Tracy and Avery last week? wub.png

Spoilers have Tracy on Friday. Think we'll get her before then?

After reading this I went to look. You're right - perfect matriarch. Tracy is always wonderful around kids. I've never been a Monica fan, so I'm happy that it was Tracy with the next two generations.
