  1. Season 9 has been better than S07-08 so far, there's a breath of fresh air in the show. I'm a tad worried about how long they can keep this up, but so far they're doing great.

Sean Hayes is the best performer so far, Megan Mullally is not far behind.

I guess I'm in the minority of liking Will and Grace; they're not the most entertaining, but I don't dislike their scenes.

  2. The throwbacks to earlier seasons were delicious, it was one big walk down memory lane while slowly progressing the story. I won't go much into detail because most of you covered everything that made this episode work. Now a week of waiting is upon us. :'D

  3. Roanoke was an improvement over several AHS series. As usual with any Ryan Murphy show, there were things I could've done without, but this is one of those rare seasons where they didn't throw in 30 random scenes or cast members with no purpose. Instead, we got something that was well thought out. If you don't expect much, you might like this season more than you know.

Also, Adina Porter (a guest star in 1 episode in Season 1) was the true star of the season.

Plus, since it wasn't posted here, AHS was renewed through 2019.

  4. S9 was very lovely! I don't care that most of their money was gone; the story was there from the beginning. The new arrivals (Sable, Monica) fit in well and didn't exactly have enough time to reach their full potential, Monica especially. Not enough Alex, of course, just about enough of Krystle. The standout, of course, was Fallon. Some of the others just stood in place (Jeff, Sammy Jo, Adam) but it wasn't that much of a problem. I didn't miss Steven one bit.

I won't get into the 'Reunion' thing much as it was quite disappointing for me, especially after a decent final season.

  5. Wow, Season 7 really is all over the place. It's like they couldn't get an idea to stick for more than a couple of episodes. I'm 19 episodes in, and we have barely finished with the oil leases and Blake's amnesia when suddenly Kristina got ill and Adam (who barely had a story) is now being blackmailed by that senator. I could go on for quite awhile about what I think is wrong with the season, but I think I'll just finish the season as soon as possible.

    Hopefully season 8 is better.

  6. Kate O'Mara (Caress, Dynasty) talks about originally being tapped for The Colbys:

Maybe that would have been a better option. IMO she was was wasted on Dynasty.

Anyway, I'm currently watching 2x10, and it's true that The Colbys are slightly more entertaining this season than Dynasty 7.

I find Frankie And Bliss to be just as boring (if not more) than in Season 1. You can find mistakes in several other characters, but it's entertaining, I suppose. I'll see how the rest of the season turns out.

  7. Started Season 7 a few days ago (along with The Colbys Season 2) and it will be interesting to see the differences (or similarities) between the two. I'm up to episode 4 of each.

So far it's quite obvious the new Amanda doesn't fit. Meanwhile, it's good to see Wayne Northop again, but I'm not sure they'll be able to do much there. If I remember correctly, he had a lot of promise in the beginning but nothing came of it.

Sammy Jo and Ted McGinley's character appear to be separated in a world of their own, Steven is just background filler so far, along with Adam, Dominique and a few others.

I'll hold off on commenting until I'm further along in the season.

  8. I was frequently worried they would kill off Queenie during Coven and voila - they bring her to Hotel only to kill her off. -.-

Dennis O'Hare was the soul of the season, and props to Kathy Bates and Evan Peters for their performances.

Several cast members were severely underused, and some of them quite annoying.

    Decent season though.

  9. I remember taking care of the episode guide during Season 2, and the shock of Sasha Alexander's departure, then wondering if the show could outlive JAG. I never thought it would reach Season 13. Sadly, I stopped somewhere during Season 6, and I don't think I'll ever watch everything, but tuning in occasionally is not a waste of time.

However, Weatherly's departure will hurt the show, IMO, unless Gary Glasberg has something up his sleeve.

  10. I liked Jon Snow, but do not care much about his death, and I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of him.

Cersei was great as always, and I'm waiting anxiously to see where the Tyrells end up.

Ramsay Snow needs to die asap.

Overall a great season for me.

  11. This is a show I'm really struggling to pick up again. I finished Season 1, then never got around to watching it again, and now it just seems like a lot of work to go through two full seasons (of 22+ episodes).

Is it any good? Does it maintain the quality of the first season, or do things change drastically?

It seems as if one season of 13 episodes would be good for a show like this, something akin to Marvel's Daredevil.

  12. Good for them; any true fan probably loves this. I know I'd love it if one of the shows from my childhood had a chance like this. That said, I won't be watching since I never could get through an episode of the show without switching to another channel.
