If Genie comes back-and now that she is fired from Y&R, I think it's just a matter of timing-I'm gong to guess November sweeps-she'll be the new Viki.

Because well, Viki was boring (sorry to any Viki fans) which fits Laura to a T.

I do worry about where they are going with Joe Jr. On the one hand, redeeming him even a bit will be hard-on the other, I don't think he needs redeeming that much, to be interesting. I'm okay with him being bad. I am just not okay with the fact that Tracy likes him, and he is at least indirectly responsible for Alan's death (as far as we know now).

JE gets another guy she has amazing chem with-and the character is pretty darn scummy at first glance. If they keep him, and keep them, it's going to be hard to justify it. At this point however, I don't care how they do it. I just want them to do it. I do not want Luke leaving Tracy for BORA.

And that is IMO what is going to happen if Lacy are together when Laura comes back.

Screw that mess. Just NO.

"Clearly not" is right, hooked. And I for one don't want her to resist him for long. I know why it is I like them, something about them is very sweet, but also sexy....and yet there is so much automatic build up for angst there. There is almost an old fashioned soapy vibe to them-there's the class difference, the slight age difference, the fact that he was involved in what resulted in Alan's death-the fact that both of them are obviously battle scarred and probably scared of love. The alleged rape, etc. etc. Oh, there are just so many things automatically built in, and those are the kind of couples I love. There's literally YEARS of material just with that stuff, if they play it right.

I am falling for them, seriously. I told myself I would not get sucked back in, but they are worth it.

And I LOVE how they are the sexiest (literally) couple on the show right now. Hee.

I mean, really. It never woulda happened with JFP.

Regarding whether or not our girl is "easy". Hmmm. She ain't no nun. Never has been. And while I think she's at least known the last name of the men she was with, there were times she fell into bed with a few men and she didn't know much more than that. I keep going back to David McAllister, who ended up dead and she was accused of killing him. She knew nada about him before literally lying in his bed, waiting for him.

She has always been desperate for love, and poor thing..she always settled for sex as the next best thing, if she couldn't get love.

I want her and Joe to work out. And I'd say that even if Laura doesn't come back. I don't think Luke can give her what she needs.

The best part about tracy/joe is luke won't be able to leave Tracy for laura in the end of GH

I think what gist I have seen is that he probably didn't rape her because he had been having sex with connie all along and she was a tease etc...he didn't know it was kate when he pushed too far and that could make total sense with DID

That's what I think, too...that there is something different about Joe, Jr, as opposed to Sonny's many other enemies. The main difference being that none of them expressed remorse over their deeds, and at least we've seen some of that from Joe.

I still like him, and I like them. I cannot imagine Frank's point in showing Tracy with this man, only to kill him off. I suppose if he waits until Tracy has strong feelings for him, it could be good drama. Or, if Tracy finds out about Joe's "dealings" with Jerry and how Joe is sort of indirectly responsible for the Metro Court stuff and Alan's death...well, I can see Tracy trying to kill him herself. Maybe even actually doing it. But I hope that's not where this is going. Especially since I just read GF just got the boot from Y&R. They will bring her back to GH-and of course, even if Lacy had a chance, I don't want to see Tracy up against Laura for Luke. Nope. Not when she has a man that actually likes her without her having to compete for his affections.

I'll take Tracy/Joe all the way.

As far as Tracy inviting him to live in....on one hand, it seems fast. On the other, she's obviously no dummy, no matter how much she likes the "lovin". It makes MORE sense to have him close by, to watch him, if you don't entirely trust him or know him. At least that way, it's harder to hide secrets.

OTOH-asking him to move in because she doesn't entirely trust him, smacks of old, jealous, possessive Tracy, and I thought we were past that.

Time will tell, I guess.

I teared up at the Tracy/Edward/Patrick/Emma stuff-but I only saw their clips.

I don't know that I will go back to watching the whole show, because honestly nothing else I am reading interests me in the slightest. But I will either watch for Tracy/Qs or catch her clips.

All right, I have watched more Tracy and Joe Jr scenes on YT. I change my mind: I like them. I mean, LIKE them. I keep seeing comments from some sources that say Joe Jr is going to be killed off, but I don't think so. I think pairing him with Tracy means the exact opposite, especially since the general consensus seems to be good.

They are HOT. Like, not quite Paul and Tracy hot, but almost. I just told Funny it really sucks that Luke and Tracy never even got those kinds of scenes, because you know people are comparing the two in their heads, saying "yeah Luke and Tracy were never that hot".

Eh well. Luke and Tracy were never written as sexual beings TOGETHER, either.

I don't know how I feel about Lacy. Right now, I'm good with a break. I actually REALLY liked the soup scene-and how easily she just offered the jet. The scene with her calling to hear his voice. It's so GROWN UP. It's so the opposite of how Tracy has behaved in the past when someone dumped her. They are at least going to remain friends, and for now, that's enough of a connection for me.

I can't help it. Joe Jr really LIKES her, and I can't just turn my nose up at that. I've waited over two decades to see her in a relationship where the man was truly attracted to her/wanted her, and didn't leave her for someone else.

I'd like to see where this might go.

I am skeeved about the whole Connie/Kate rape thing, though. For those in the know-is it for sure he did it, or is it still iffy? With Kate's DID, I want so badly to think it's all in her head or that maybe Connie consented to sex and Kate emerged while they were doing it and cried rape.

Because otherwise, it just taints the whole thing, and that truly sucks.

Had to come back and ask, because I forgot: what did Tony say about her at the Emmys? Anyone have a transcript or clip, or can you summarize it if you know? It sounds sweet.

And about Edward....oh, geez. If the scenes made grown men cry, yeah, we'll all be blubbering messes. On the one hand, the very idea of him dying tears me up. OTOH, it's really past time for him to go. I think JI being sick, and the decimation of the Q's over the last fifteen years, just makes it all the more poignant. Ohhh...it's going to break our hearts, isn't it?

Last night I got to see a few Tracy/Luke and Tracy/Joe clips on YT. Does anyone know if any regular person still posts Q clips or GH clips? I know ABC put a stop to the entire epps being posted, but a few people used to loyally post Quartermaine scenes. Anyone here know if they still do?

At any rate, I like the Joe/Tracy stuff, but I don't see the astounding chemistry I've read about. Then again, I've only seen a few minutes of them. I did see the scene where Tracy lets Luke have the jet. Can I just say...I don't think having them as friends is a bad thing. In fact, I think it's the best thing that could happen. Tracy is, God bless her, almost always better at being friends with a man than in a relationship. She and Luke, if you think about it, have never had the chance to just be friends, with no blackmail or coercion or strings attached. Now is the time when they can just be there for each other. How refreshing it is that they did not part bitterly, like some of Tracy's relationships have ended. They are remaining friends-and that's a good thing. I cannot honestly see Luke and Anna long term. Tracy and Joe, eh. I think if the show wants it to, I can see Tracy and Joe lasting longer, and Luke on the sidelines, being a good friend, both of them confiding in one another about each other's love lifes, etc...both warning the other's SO's not to hurt the other. Assuming Joe and Tracy don't become wildly popular, I can see them eventually just turning back to one another. I think Luke will be the first to do so, though. He looks up one day and realizes what he's missing....and he fights to get her back. Isn't this what some of us have wanted for so long? I know I have. Someone REALLY into Tracy, and Luke fighting for her for real.

And if they don't go back to Lacy as a couple, as long as they are friends like that, and Joe loves her...I'm good. As a TracyFF, that's all I've ever wanted for her-to really be loved. What a wonderful way to possibly close out the character, should GH end in the next year or so.

Jane HAS been part of a triangle before, though. I would call Tracy/Paul/Jenny a triangle, as well as Tracy/Scott/Lucy back in the day. I couldn't help but notice though, it's once again her and another woman over Luke. Uh....why not another man fighting Luke over Tracy? AZ doesn't count. LOLOL

It's both irritating and thrilling. MOstly irritating. If they didn't put out such a good show, I would not sit still for their torture. Especially Moffat. He's Bob Guza all over again, but with fresh writing and talent.

I have to admit, catching up on the comments, the birthday one made me go Awwww. Sounds to me though that using JI as an excuse for no Q's is just that-an excuse.

I have no faith in GH anymore really....but for those of you still watching and enjoying it, I am happy for you. I AM happy to hear GH will get a fiftieth. I just hope there are enough vets left for it to have ANY meaning.

Because to me, that's who should take center stage that day. Not crossovers from OLTL.

Perhaps one day I will finally catch up on all the Tracy I have missed.

The riding crop thing is funny, because I was just about to post that I have racked my brain on who JE could play on Sherlock.

Then I thought about she could play the mother of Irene Adler, who is English in this version but could have an American mother (the character has only shown up once, this is just mostly wishful thinking). THing is, in this version, Irene is a Dominatrix, and in some of her scenes, she's shown with.....a riding crop.

Like "mother", like daughter, no?

Oh, and sorry to hear about SOW folding. THey had a good run, 22 years and counting. Stephen Nichols and Hunter Tylo as Patch/STeve and Marina were on the debut cover. How sad is that, that I can recall that. I even remember the exact place I bought that first issue because it was a newstand/bookstore around the corner from where I worked at the time.

I wonder who was on the last cover? Have they had a last issue yet?

What is so obviously a slap in the face to the "non stars" is that there is no conceivable reason for shortening the opening that much. It only adds what, thirty seconds to the airtime each episode? I could see the logic and justification behind it if there were some huge airtime or monetary savings by doing what they did. But nope. Smells like spite to me.

They do want to be cancelled, they just do little hateful things that don't seem to be done out of spite at first. Until you look at them from all angles. There's just no other reason for it.

The sorriest part of all this? They could have done so much with Jane and Tony. Almost all of that time and opporunity was wasted.

ONe of the soap mags at the check out stand had the castmates goodbyes to Nathan, and Jane's wasn't in it. But some new guy "EWEN?" was. REALLY? She's his step mother and doesn't rate a mention. I do hope at least she knows the truth about Ethan.

Honestly, I cannot remember the last time I even sought out a recap or a clip. I haven't posted at any soap boards besides this one in six months or more. Have not lurked here since the last time I posted. Guza did it, he made me not care enough to even keep up with recaps and spoilers.

Ah well.

And someone remind me..who is the new EP and new HW? And they are just doing what others did before them, aren't they? Telling the stories THEY want to tell?

BLAH.

It's more than that for me. I guess I just don't have the time or the attention span to focus on more than one show at a time. And my show right now is "Sherlock". I know I mentioned it before, but you guys....if you haven't checked it out, GAH so worth it.

There's enough drama and angst along with the mysteries to keep almost anyone interested.

Plus...and here's the kicker...I realized about a month ago what it is about Sherlock and Mycroft, his brother, that pulls me in so much. They have a slightly more antagonistic relationship than in the stories. But the way it's played...the dynamic, the angst, the facades...it hit me between the eyes: They are QUARTERMAINES. Not for real of course, but in almost every tangible way, yeah. They are. Back when the Q's were heavily featured, back when they were complex and sneaky and not always "good". The snark and the resentment and the hurt and yes, the love too, it's all there. Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Gatiss (who is also co creator and a writer on the show) have such a good brotherly vibe. MG reminds me a bit of Hugo Napier, who played Ashton. Not physically really, but in mannerisms as an English gentleman.

Best part about the series is the brotherly interactions IMO. After I realized how "Qish" they are, I've just loved them more. My ultimate dream: Jane and Tony(or Hugo) playing Mummy and Daddy Holmes(who may or may not be deceased, it is not clear yet.)

The second season starts on PBS, the first SUnday night in May. It'll be on DVD almost immediately after. What sucks for me is that the seasons are so short-THREE episodes each so far. Season two is about a year and a half after SEason one, and it looks like Season Three will be about the same amount of time after Season Two. It's VERY frustrating, that when I find something I like, I get very little of it.

I still don't have cable, so I mostly Redbox or Netflix movies. However I do have to shout out to my latest interest: the BBC version of Sherlock Holmes, called "Sherlock".

Dudes..if you have any interest in mysteries, or adventure, or the character at all, or if you are a Benedict Cumberbatch fan....you HAVE to see this. It is quite simply, awesome.

It's actually a "mini-series", with three ninety minute episodes in the first season from 2010(several people highly recommended it to me, I Netflixed it, and I am HOOKED).

The new season (3 more "movies")just aired on BBC but won't air here until May on PBS Masterpiece Mysteries.

Seriously. Good writing, great characters, awesome chemistry, suspense, humor, drama, etc.

It is Sherlock Holmes in a modern day setting, with cell phones, texting, etc.

Of course it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but....well worth a look, at least.

Far better than RDJ's movie version-though I liked his first one.

Hope everyone is doing well, hugs and prayers and belated Thanksgiving wishes.I have had house guests since Thanksgiving and four peeps in a tiny one bedroom apartment is VERY close quarters. They have nowhere else to go, though, and homelessness sucks, but it especially sucks at the holidays. So I have been BUSY as you can imagine.

Yes, JFP said those things, but Frons has said the same and worse, several times. They both have no business in an entertainment industry where a good majority of the viewers are the very people they are mocking.

Such a blatant lack of regard for their audience. I cannot understand why they were not publically reprimanded for such comments. But then, the fact that they weren't, and that they are still in charge, is a huge part of the reason ABC daytime is in the toilet.

I have always felt though, that they have never tried to get more viewers. I think the network has for years banked on the viewership slipping away so they'd have an excuse to cancel the shows. Frons, ABC/Disney-they don't want soaps.

And JFP is just going with the flow. It's sad.But I can't say I'm surprised.

Here's the thing, though: wouldn't Jill have had to approve a Tracy mob story in the first place? Especially if Garin was talking about in the press? And the story got good responses, from what I heard.

So even though I think Jill is ageist or sexist a bit, if anyone put the kibosh on it, I'd bet Frons over Jill before I'd think Jill went to Frons.

Although BOTH of them have been quoted as calling anyone over fifty old (guess they're "old", then). So it's a toss up.

I hate this show. Only an idiot would waste Jane Elliot.

If and when this show does end, they'd better do Tracy justice. I want a big, blow out end for her. It can be a happy one, but there'd better be some angst beforehand.

It isn't just GH, though. I have to say, movies and TV in general are so unimaginative these days. Where are the lovable rogues, the rascals, the anti-heroes and heroines?

They are who I am interested in, and so many of the characters we get these days have the personality of wet noodles.

Again...this show has Tracy freaking Quartermaine, one of the best anti-heroines(she is NOT a villianess to me and never has been) on TV ever, and they are wasting her. IDIOTS.

I wonder if Jane has tapes of her old stuff like that? I bet she doesn't go on to things like YT to seek them out...but I wonder if she has tapes and goes back to watch her old stuff. She doesn't strike me as the type.

I agree, I don't want Tracy in the room with JaSam, Q Thanksgiving or not. So I wonder where the AZ thing is headed since it seems to be more about Tracy than ELQ(unless he just sees Tracy as a means to an end).

Let's see if he delivers. I feel sorry for the guy, he is going to go down as the writer that killed GH, if it gets cancelled. But he shouldn't talk about stuff just to please people, then not follow through. THat DOES make him look like Guza. So okay. He can show he's different by actually doing something with these characters.
