Reeves, who joined the soap as Jennifer Horton in 1985 and last appeared as the character in 2021, will celebrate Thanksgiving in Salem and take part in the on-air memorial to late actor Bill Hayes (ex-Doug Williams), who passed away in January. “I heard about Bill, which was just devastating for all of us,” Reeves recalls. “I was like, ‘I wonder if they’re going to do tribute shows.’ Matt [Ashford, Jack Deveraux] and I always keep in touch and Matt said, ‘Would you ever think about going back?’ And I said, ‘Matt, I think about Days all the time.’ Days of our Lives was where I grew up and spent my life, really, from 18 until now. So it always has a place in my heart and it always will for me and for my family. So I said, ‘Matt, you know if they called, I would say yes, but I haven’t heard anything.’ ”

Lanna Saunders worked as long as she could until her MS got too bad, so there was no final Marie episode written. Marie's last episode as a contract character was April 8, 1985.   Maree Cheatham reprised the role for brief visits in 1994, 1996 and 2010.

so neither don Craig nor Marie got any farewell or explanation to their disappearance. ridiculous really.

    FROM THE VAULT: JULIE/STEVE SCENE...EPISODE # 3231...AUGUST 24, 1978...

Here's a look at the Olson sibling dynamic between Julie and Steve from Episode # 3231, which aired August 24, 1978. Susan Seaforth Hayes & Stephen Schnetzer are taping their first scene together this week since December 1979.

Thanks!!! I can't believe Steve wasn't mentioned nor seen for so many years.. he didn't return for hope's weddings, his grandparents' funerals, it's crazy. I'm really glad TPTB bringing him back to help Julie and hope with Doug's passing. I'm counting on Kristian to appear in those episodes, it just won't be the same without her.

  4. I'm excited about Steven's return. although the circumstances are sad..

waiting news regarding other fav arrivals. missy, Kristian, denise, maree. maybe even Lisa truesl.

I imagine it will be the finale horton gathering.. before the show demise.

  5. Thanks Jason!

Wow it's crazy, Steve Olson, Julie’s brother returns to Salem 45 years later! probably and hopefully to support his sister during Doug's funeral. if tptb can get Denise Alexander to return, wow.. should be amazing and we can see some real flashbacks!

“As far as I know, next week I’m flying out to LA… I hope I’m not giving anything up but they’ve asked Steve Olson to come back for a couple of episodes. I’ll say no more than that.” Steve, the son of Addie Horton and her first husband, Ben Olson (her second marriage, to Doug Williams, produced daughter Hope), was originally played by Schnetzer from 1978-80.

I have posted several places that I'd like to see Gloria Loring, Don Frabotta (Dave) and an adult actor cast to be "Little Dougie" who now of course, would be called Doug. Those are my 3 wishes for Doug's Memorial, besides Bo & Hope & their family members.

I just don't see tptb bringing gloria loring back.. she wasn't mentioned nor seen since 1986.. it will be nice to see her again of course interacting with julie, Maggie and Marlena. oh and Tony of course.

here's a really nice interview with don frabotta..

The last time we saw her, she was in a coma.

Then there was a scene where Deacon and Stephanie talked about Macy having been taken off life support, but only Sally was actually there when it supposedly happened, and we never heard Sally talk about it.

So all we have to go on is Sally's word. Sally who referred to her ex husband Adam Alexander as "dead" when he wasn't. Sally who told Clarke she had terminated the pregnancy when she was expecting CJ.

In other words, Sally has lied about this exact same thing before, so the truth is we don't actually know what became of Macy.

The actress said fairly recently that Macy is still in a coma.

any chance tptb will bring Macy back and reunite her with Thorne? and then end the show. for good.

  8. Has the show even addressed with you how they plan to handle writing-off the character of Doug Williams, and how they want to honor Bill?

SUSAN: Only in the smallest way. I had a conference call with the producers and our head writer last Friday. I was informed about the immediate, immediate future. I’ve also been promised that they’re going to keep me busy. It’s a cast of over 40 people. I’ll be happy to show up and to be included.

You shared so many scenes with Frances Reid (Alice) and MacDonald Carey (Tom) in the Horton living room set and up till they passed. Did they get along well with Bill? Looking back, how was your relationship with them?

SUSAN: They loved him. Well, Mac and Billy had worked together before in theater. Mac was very kind to me at the beginning and helpful. Frances was as well. As Frances got older, she got a bit testy. When someone says, “You’re not going to read the line like that … are you?” It catches your attention. (Laughs). I got peeved at Frances from time to time, but her intent was always to make everything as good as it possibly could be. I saw her come back from her stroke. learn to talk again, learn to do it all again. Not do it easily, but to do it at all was wonderful, and the same with Mac. In his last shows, he was very frail, but we’re actors. We liked being there.

30 years have passed since the eternal soap opera "the bold and the beautiful" was broadcast in Israel. To mark the occasion, we caught up with Ron Moss, aka the original Ridge Forester. Does he feel like returning to the series and what are the chances that he will visit Israel?

Do you miss the era of "the beautiful and the brave"?

"I miss the people I worked with, but I really don't miss the work involved in a series like this. I prefer the life of freedom to create my own works."

You were one big family for a good few decades, are you still in touch?

"No. I have not been part of this series for 12 years and beyond that, most of the colleagues who were with me have also left. Life has taken us all in different directions, we all have families and daily chores. Life goes on despite everything."

At the same time, the decision to retire from the show in which he starred for so many years was not easy for him, and the thought of someone else stepping into Ridge's shoes startled him. He said in the past that he asked the producer of the series Bradley Bell not to recast the role, but the production of the show refused and he remains hurt. "It felt like a betrayal and showed a real lack of respect," he said.

And we can't do without a nice scandal to end: in 2022 Hunter Taylor, who played the character of Taylor Hayes, admitted in an interview to New Idea that her attraction to Moss was completely real. "When I first came to the show in 1990, I was still married to actor Michael Teilo," she said. "Michael felt very threatened by Ron and the chemistry we had on screen. It was definitely a connection with intense passion. That's why I did everything possible to repel Ron." Just like in The Brave and the Bold, Hunter ended up getting a divorce and so did Moss - and the two drifted into a brief but stormy off-set romance. "I noticed that during all our kissing scenes, there were no holds barred between us. Before that it was just short kisses, stage kisses. We were both single and I guess we finally felt free enough to show our feelings without fear of upsetting our partners."
